  1. Crap. That sucks. I just want a better alternative to the F90 (a custom install like an iPad is not in the cards right now), even if I have to go outide of Pioneer (though I did read that the current Kenwoods have lag issues themselves).

  2. I have the D3 in one car and the F90 in another. The F90 is a disappointing unit. It's slower and the OS crashes every now and then (has never happened in my D3). My unit (and yes it;'s updated) takes over 30 seconds to become functional when the car starts, the handsfree another 30 seconds.

One feature I liked in the D3 was phone # lookup for address. I use it and the F series dumped it.

I would look at the x series if anything at least it's faster. Avoid the F series.

  3. I have a F90bt now and I want to find the design team and beat every one of them. Is the 130 that much better? I'm willing to look outside of Pioneer if anybody can suggest a more reliable alternative (and a company that is more responsive), but if the 130 can resolve (most of) the main issues below then I'll move to a new Pioneer unit.

    Some of my 90bt gripes.

    1) Boot time. My d3 is ready in 10 seconds. This turd takes forever (yes it's updated)

    2) Get or make a call and the screen goes to the map. WHY???????????

    3) If you are on a call and need to leave the car, the call disconnects. I had an older Kenwood that just transferred the call back to the phones control. People never even knew I left the car.

    4) overall speed of the system......CRAP

    5) random lockups. This morning the screen decided not to respond until I shut off my car and restarted it.

    6) HOW old are the maps?????

    7) when on a call, the ipod music keeps going, so when I hang up I'm 3 songs down the line from when the call came in. How about auto pause????

The rest of my complaints are more nit-pick and common sense stuff. The above are the major ones........ok I'll list one common sense one.

When playing from iPod and the artist/track/song is listed, I should be able to touch the category and have the list come up, so if Man in the Box is playing by AIC, I should be able to touch the AIC listing on the screen and see everything by them or if I touch Man in the Box I should see the track listing for Facelift. Just my .02 on that one...............

    Any suggestions/opinions?

  5. Have an F90bt that I'm just not happy with it's overall performance (I think my D3 performs better). So a few ?s

    920 vs 930 (if I can find the 920) differences? 930 better?

Upgrade from F90. Is it worth upgrading? One of the many things that drives me nuts is that it takes almost a minute for the 90 to fully start up. I needed to eject a CD the other day and I had to wait 45 seconds until the eject button would respond.

  6. I have a D3 and a F90BT, and in most cases the D3 is the better unit (except for bluetooth, marginally)

    Have they changed the following?

    1) Phone call made over bluetooth currently disconnects when the car is shut off. On the Kenwood units it transfers back to the phone. Very handy feature. There have been a few times where I've been on a call and had to sit in my car until it was over.

    2) See #1. It's a really important feature.

    3) Any chance of destination lookup by phone #? I really like looking up a destination by # on the D3 (even though it's a little outdated now)

    4) The F90 always switches to nav when a call comes in. Really annoying.

    5) The ipod keeps playing while on a call, so when you hang up you are 6 songs away from when the call started. How about pausing the ipod when a call comes in?

  7. I have an F90BT now and before I consider upgrading I'd like to know if the following things have been addressed.

    1) Switching to MAP when a call comes in, I find this really annoying on the F90

    2) Dropping a call if I shut off the car while I'm talking. With the Kenwood I had before, the call would revert back to the handset if I shut the car off.

    3) Lookup destination by phone #. My D3 has this and I really like it.

    4) How is the startup speed of the unit compared to the F90?

Also, people have been complaining about the navigation on the new units, but the posts I've read don't seem to specify WHAT is so bad about it. Any NAV I've used can be a little flaky at routing at times. My TomTom unit once told me I couldn't get from the shopping mall I was at back to the hotel I was staying at.

  8. When receiving a call over BT, is there any way to stop the unit from switching to the MAP screen? I have no idea why it does that. If I'm on the iPod screen just pause the song and leave it there.

Also, with the Kenwood unit I had if I was on a BT call and I turned off the car, the call would transfer back to the handset. With this unit it hangs up. Is there a setting I'm missing?

  9. I bought a new ipod nano and my D3 won't charge it anymore. Is there a new ipod cable I need for it?

Also, has the MT90 update changed the keyboard to QWERTY? I'd love to see that change.

  10. I started to notice that my iPod would "skip" while playing randomly, it sounds like a quick glitch. At first I couldn't figure it out, but after yesterday I realized it only happens when I am listening to the iPod AND I am using the NAV to get me somewhere. It's like the unit doesn't have the oomph to run the iPod and the NAV at the same time. Anybody else notice this?

  11. I poked around but didn't find an answer (probably right in front of my nose too....)

I copied the files/folders to the root of my SD card and started the HU up. It goes into a Windows environment, says copying files, then it looks like it hangs. There is an OK at the top, but there is also a green line and if press the screen the taskbar turns all green and nothing. What am I missing?

  12. Remember that all, including new cars, have safety features in their units to limit use during vehicle operation

Not quite true. My 2004 Acura TL allowed FULL control of all functions at any speed. All I had to do was tap the legal screen on startup and I could play with all I wanted whenever I wanted (and I never got in an accident either)
