  1. my brother and mom's laptops both run Vista pretty flawlessly.. i dont really like it myself.. i'm partial to XP due to the fact i've been using it so long and my computer wont run Vista.. but i still cant bash like i've seen some people do.. and i, myself can say that it doesnt suck...

winrar(www.rarlab.com) is the best file extractor IMO..

  2. i had the same thing weh i put the xm in my car turned out to be a bad cable from the box..i had a tv tuner that i wasnt using anymore used that cord and all is well..have poping noise speakers sound like they are shifting sounds just sounded like shit..but all is well now..

mine gives that "white noise" sound every once in awhile...so this was just another thing that i thought could contribute to a bad cable...if this happens again...i'm just gonna take my unit up to the dealer i got it from....

  3. yo...i thought i was going crazy...mine is doing the exact same thing...if i go to the balance screen and put it +5-6 towards the driver side...everything sounds normal...maybe there actually was something in the update that caused this?

as far as i remember...the rest of the sources work just fine...i think it's just the IPOD...just to be sure...i'll try another source later on today...and if it's still faulty...i'll be taking it back over to guys i bought it from and seeing what they can do about another ipod cable or something...

Dude! I honestly think it was the update. Like I said, everything was working perfectly until I installed the update. Let me know how it goes for you.

EVERY other av source is working fine except for the iPod source! it's still the only one that doesnt seem to play on every speaker at the same time in my truck...i tried contacting the place i got mine installed yesterday..but no luck...

EDIT: i went to clean out my truck a little it...and i was going to turn off the sound check and eq like what was stated in the post earlier...but everything on the ipod seemed to play fine...granted i was only out there for a bout 10-15 minutes...but everything was playing normal...we'll see how long that lasts..or if it's miraculously back to normal!

  4. can you burn multiple avi files on one dvd? I just tried and it won't work. I didn't know if there is a way to do this. I converted them the way you said, and it works if you put just one file on each cd, but I dont want to waste cds/dvds when the files are small.

get some RWs...trial and error my friend...trial and error! that is if nobody chimes in and gives you a definitive answer!

  6. Tried to do the update, obviosly it didn't start because I already have the newest firmware. I tried the TTS steps, updated each TTS, english, spanish, french. Restarted the unit. Still no TTS with Samantha is selected, or any other TTS language! This is pissing me off to no end. On a lighter side, Bluetooth works PERFECT after the update, people hear me loud and clear when I'm on the freeway, or sitting in my driveway. One problem fixed, and other one arises.

sooooo glad this was fixed...i was ecstatic when i got a call while driving 80+ on the highway and was actually able to have a convo w/o static or my dad askin me to repeat what i had just said!!

but yea i'll have to get an SD Card reader sometime this week and try to restore my TTS...

  7. It does. Thats what the majority of the music on my SD card is formatted in. M4a @ various bitrates both CBR and VBR from 128 all the way up to 320.

It also doesn't seem to be picky about ID3 tag version since all of my stuff is 2.4. I just wish it could grab the album art from the file like the iPod.

hmm...funny...the m4a files i put on a disk didnt work at all...gave me an error of some sort...any specific way you burned the files?

  8. Um, did you read the official statement from just 2 weeks ago? When there is a fix/upgrade, they will let you know. Have some patience people.

I'm assuming you mean the Official Statement, which is what this thread is...and what I'm responding to....so yes....i have read it.

And i "did" have patients, but that was about a month ago. For all we know they could have not fixed any of the problems yet. If that was true I would give up on waiting and buy a different unit. But, if they have fixed the majority of the problems and are fine tuning the rest i would wait.

Not sure why you would rather be kept in the dark. I'm not asking for minute by minute updates. Are you telling me Pioneer can't afford to have someone spend 15minutes posting a weekly update? I'm pretty sure the sales they have lost so far, due to poor communication, would have paid for minute by minute updates.

pioneer cant really lose money on a product they're not currently selling at the moment, can they?

  9. mine was like that too...i could have a vid playin as long as i didnt go over 15mph...i'm not sure if all of the units are like that or not...but like i said in my previous post all that needed to be done for me was moving the mute wire to the correction location...everything else was already grounded...

  10. bypass works just fine....did it yesterday...but it was kinda funny...the place i had gotten it installed...the guy had already grounded the wires that needed to be grounded for the by pass...only thing that needed to be done was moving the mute wire to the correct pin hole...

works like a charm though...no more parking break message or anything...picking routes on the go is dope...and dave chappelle's for what it's worth kept me going last nite when i didnt feel like driving!!

  11. $300 install? jesus...i would still be looking at mine in the box if that were the case!

i just poked my head in here...i dont have the 700bt...sorry...but i'm sure it's similar to the 90bt i have

music does take a little bit to start listening to...depending on what you listened to last...i think iPods start up quicker than discs...or it may be the other way around...either way...it's not THAT bad...
