  1. Sorry guys. No torrent here. I didn't notice any major updates. It's still missing a street from a residential area built 3 yrs ago.

That is why I won't buy them. I bought a new set for my N2 just after I purchased it. And my street still wasn't on the updated disks... I will just be looking for the West disk on eBay.

  2. My iPod Classic wouldn't work until after my wife hooked up her iPhone. After that it worked!!! I had to replace my AVIC-N4 with a new one. My Classic wouldn't work. So I hooked up my wife's iPhone then the Classic worked again! No idea why but that is my method to getting it to work.

  3. i did the downgrade to the 1.0.2 on my ipod classic. i cant watch videos but i can hear them. if it helps its a avic-n4 and a cd-i200

Did you have the Video button enabled. When I plug in my iPod Classic it starts playing the podcast but I can only hear it. So I press the Video button and select the podcast to view and hear it. I am using the latest firmware though. I found if I connect my wife's iPhone first then my Classic will work from then on. If I connect my Nano then my Classic won't work again until I connect my wife's iPhone. Wierd!!!

  4. Mine works! It started working after the latest firmware release and after my wife first connected her iPhone. No idea why but I connected my Nano then my Classic stopped working. I grabbed my wife's iPhone, connected it, then connected my Classic then boom! Back to working. Haven't connected the Nano since and haven't had any issues...

    Hope that helps!

  5. can anybody confirm this?? trying al differnt ways nothing works

Ok, I should have stated with my AVIC N4 and the latest firmware v1.1.2. My iPod Classic didn't work at all trying any of the previous firmware. It doesn't work 100% like I wish but at least it works now. I was pissed after I bought my Classic and it didn't work. So I did the video in to my N4 until Apple got there shit straight. I guess they still have some work to do.

I had an odd thing happen to me yesterday. My iPod Classic stopped working with my N4. I had plugged in my Nano before that... So I remember how my wife tried her iPhone to play music and it worked then my Classic worked after that. So I plugged in her iPhone then my Classic and boom it started working again. So if your Classic isn't working with the latest firmware try an iPhone then your Classic. It seemed to do the trick for me. Odd!!!

  6. The ipod classic issues happen on the N4 too. It came out before apple screwed everyone with this authentication chip bullshit. The only way to get your classic to work for video is to downgrade it to firmware 1.0.2 (instructions can be found by searching on this site) or buy the $50 cable apple wants to sell you (but then you won't be able to control it from the screen or charge it)

The latest firmware for the classic works with the N4. I tried to downgrade to 1.0.2 and it didn't work for me. The latest firmware made me a very happy iPod Classic owner that was pissed a month ago.

  8. If you are ever having a problem getting the pin to stay in, use a drop(A DROP!!!) of CA Glue (super glue) w/ accellerator to lock pin in. I do that to every bypass I do. Works like a charm.

FYI: DO the glue AWAY from the unit!!!

This was my best solution! I tried the jam the wire with a zip tie, and relocated a pin both of which didn't work. I then tried the super glue and it worked like a charm. Thanks for the advice!!!

  9. Just FYI - The Pioneer GEX-P5700TV TV tuner is plug and play with N2. I added it to mine shortly after I bought the N2 and I don't know if I can live without it when TV air waves turn to digital only.
