Does anyone know the best way to look up an address if you don't know the city?

 

I live in Chicago and know the city very well. Every so often I will need to go to a particular address in the suburbs.

 

Let's say I need to go to 123 N. Main Street... It won't let me look up an address unless I know the exact city, or suburb. Unfortunately sometimes you might think the address in one suburb, but it's in another.

 

On my old factory nav if I put in 123 N. Main Street it would list that address in cities in texas, florida, illinois, etc and I could choose the one I wanted.

 

Has anyone experienced this situation?

Hmm I know once i forgot to set the city and when i typed in the street name and number it showed me a list of suggestions for every city in illinois with that specific street name and number, it was a bit weird i can't remember what was listed under city but maybe tomorrow I will try it again

I am not a fan of passwording rars so I downloaded all these and rared them up without the password for anyone who has usenet

It sucks cuz you only got like 42 votes out of the hundreds that have downloaded your mods, I would also like honest votes from people who have used the older (Big Icon) mods and the newest, so they really know what were talking about

Good start!!! How do the other buttons fit on the screen? Have you thought about stacking them on the left side lilke the old menu...does it all fit?

 

 

You would only be able to fit like 3,4 across. They layer each other but the previous layer gets hidden when the new one is called up.

Ahh that's a good reason then, sorry I hadn't thought of that, maybe Diaftia would think about doing both or making it an option you can enable or disable?

I like the old style best. It's just more visually appealing to me. The big buttons are nice because my big fingers can push them while I'm driving without accidentally missing, haha!

I agree with this completely, I dont have very large fingers but the bigger buttons are nice while driving and bumping around you dont miss and mess up while driving causing a bigger distraction

I know some people think this covers the whole screen but why does that matter? it's only for a few seconds which is not a big deal

I feel the large icons look more professional as well as being easier to use

Let's hope enough users agree so we can get the old style back in this mod

it doesn't yet but it will. I find that feature pretty useful.

Could you setup your computer to emulate the avic and test the mods on the PC, I used to do that when I first joined the site and was working on changing images in the image.res

 

so you can throw the code into the files and then play around with the coordinates to get it in a good spot

 

This is probably done with VMWare? I will do a search.

I don't know if you can view changes done to igo but i know you can see the main menu :/ I havent used this in along time I might set it up now though while i'm at it

So I am trying to mod keepers file with the speed limit sign and current speed mod found here:

I like to use this because my speedo is off by a couple MPH. This keeps me honest when a cop is around.

 

I have gotten to step 3 and I am noticing that the code is different. Is this because of the difference between 2.0 and 3.0? I am not sure this is going to work just plopping the code in as they say due to the version.

EDIT: I think this may be because Keeper removed everything already! I think I am going to skip to step 4 and work from there.

 

 

HAHA this is what I was about to work on as well, My speedo is also off a few MPH(rim size) and I like to be able to double check my speed easily

 

Hopefully I will have something soon for you! I just need to find out how to get the X and Y coordinates so the signs don't overlap with Keepers menu's.

The instuctuons to add this are already posted... You could have done it yourself. I would advice reading through the speed cam post and finding the .spud file and put it in as well. Has speed traps already on map and pretty accurate for my region.

Keeper do you plan to add the speed cams to your data.zip? just curious if you're eventually going to, if so I will just wait until you do it

I found the issue, turns out somehow my brightness got reset to 0 :/ no idea how since I'm the only one that drives the car and I know i didn't do it

Ok, so for the longest time my f90bt has worked fine, When I turn the car on the headunit is very bright usually and when i turn my headlights on it dims a little for night. Now it is always dim, I didn't change anything that I know of. The only thing I can think of is that the wire used to tell the headunit to be bright or dim came off.... I have no idea how that would of happened but I will check it in a few days when I get time to pull it out, anyone else have any ideas?

um well it shouldnt be that hard to change the checks that pioneer added and just use the new hash or crc whatever check it does with a modified data.zip

can this be done for the navi messages as well?

also you should use special screws that most people dont have the tools to remove easily.... anti theft screws

yea i also tried the 3.0 on my f90bt and wouldnt play, it might be pioneer may need an update to suppose something new with the 3.0 or maybe its something apple has todo but nothing we can do :/

you need to make sure you rename his data file to "data.zip" and make sure you copy over the other files it needs.... fonts, some system ini all the files in his zip you need to make it work

well usually when you brick a device its no longer functioning but some people say its bricked if they cant simply find an easy way to fix it, ive never had problems modding my headunit so you might wanna hear from some people that might of.... if there are any

well boris dont forget that you would be removing alot of the unused pioneer software then since it wouldnt all be needed :/
