I recently took my vehicle in for some repairs and noticed they put 921 miles on the vehicle. I have the 8100NEX installed in the car. I want to know if it was driven anywhere during that time. Is there a way to pull the GPS history? Or track somehow? obviously im not looking for inputed Navigation routes since I doubt they would have done that and I checked and there is no history via the menu.

Im not going to drill another hole in my console for an un needed usb port.

So i bought my 8100NEX in January and upgraded the firmware to 1.05. I just this week installed it into my wifes van and noticed a new firmware v1.09 came out. I only have the USB port #2 connected to an external port so in order to get access to USB port #1 i have to take the receiver out.

Is there any significant upgrades to make this upgrade worth the effort? We use android phones and the couple things on the official change log seemed to pertain to iphone functionality.

really annoying they dont allow an update over the SD card.

It also said my speed signal wire was not connected but i know it is and double checked. Is that part of this hack?

I just installed my 8100 NEX with firmware version 1.05. I grounded the parking wire and performed  the quadrant 4 method. I was given the message "set off". I started driving and about 1 minute in got the warning that the parking brake is not connected. Do i do this wrong? How often does that message come up?

If i just do the software bypass does that allow me to watch video and enter an address when in motion. Or just watch video?

is this still the most up to date maps.. 2013? my city has been under massive construction last couple years and this still doesn't have the new routes. Thanks

LOL seriously the unit actually detects if the cover is on?

i did the z1 to z2 upgrade all went smoothly until it was time to put the hdd back in the unit.

when i did nothing happened, i could hear the fan on the back of the unit come on but thats it.

I even reverted back to my old z1 image and it still wouldnt come back to life.

SO is there maybe something im missing, i drove the car around for a week or so with no hard drive in it could that have damaged the unit?

I didnt reinstall the HDD cover when i tested it does it need to be put back on for it to work?

i also noticed on the ze my music partition was called TFAT and when i upgraded to z2 it was renamed MSV.

also in the USER partition there were now folders labeled OLD_xxx for like to of the different folders in there? any ideas?

xxx = original folder name

ok so i followed the directions to the letter, im using the drive that came with my z1 and after i updated it to the z2 image and put it back in the console it would not turn on.

now i drove around for a week with the hard drive out could this have damaged the deck?

could the image i downloaded be bad?

i even reverted back to the z1 with the backup image i made and no success.

the drive still works when plugged into a pc so the hdd isnt bad.

i hit the reset button on the deck and nothing happened.

this is so weird im am tech savvy and have no idea what could b wrong.

the AFF software says it does not recognize the drive

kinda stuck as i paid for the AFF license and now cant unlock the drive
