Its working, I think the only cloudy issue was did I get a bunk image or not. Initial screens seem to lead one to believe that I didnt. I am pulling it out, to start the image pull from it again. I didnt want to waste anyone's time while I wasnt sure what I had. Now I can only hope that the new drive had the lock feature disabled. I didnt think about it, and I DIDNT explicitly un-set it, its as the drive came from outpost (lets HOPE). shit. shit. shit.

I got the z3 drive as well, not sure if its a mock up or not. I already made a .tib of it, I will go verify it against the info that everyone is posting here. If its a real image, I got no problem getting to it hyperite for distro. Let me go replace my drive with this one and give it a test.

Something really strange is going on now. I took the ground, parking break ground, and bypass pin from 2nd connector and disconnected them from the ground on the metra premium amp adapter. So now, I get ready to connect these 3 wires to a new ground connection under the dash, and forget to crimp the last connection, VOODOO, the unit powers on? WTF? The only "thing" that is grounded now is the pioneer xm-nav hideaway box, I have this installed with +12v constant to a always +12 and grounded to the seat bolt? Its connected via the ipbus? Anyone have any ideas as to whats going on here? than

Cqr has the factory premium system, I have a metra factory harness adaptor that provides rca connectors for the after market head unit to use the factory amplifier. I am going to try to break out the ground and ground it somewhere in the dash/double din. Right now, Its using the factory ground that the adaptor provides (a small 23-24 gauge wire) and that has the head unit, the parking break, and the bypass wire all connected to it. I have a quick question. I pulled my Panasonic cq-vd6503 (no nav) to replace it with the z2. I integrated the z2 harness into the old harness used with the old head unit. Solder and heat shrinked all connections just like they were done with the panasonic, now I have the good ole ground loop whine. I pulled the z2 and popped the panasonic back in but not installed and the whine went away. Are the z series much more susceptible to engine whine? About the only difference is that the avic has a ipbus connected XM. Could the power source on the XM being creating the loop noise? I assume when the p

even when the install guide says not to? come to think about it, it was showing a d3/n3 in the install guide when it said not to use both the ipbus and +12v connection.. i am going to pull my tv tuner hideaway to verify ipbus cable is working, not having to use +12v and just daisy channing it off my dvd changer and 6900

Can I check at the xm hideaway to see if its getting power from the ip-bus? Maybe the actual power connector on the xm unit has power going to it and I can hit it with a volt meter? I know that the ip bus cable is the one that allows it all to work. I just dont want to have to remove all the cables to test.. I have a pioneer tv tuner, maybe I can just plug that into the chain, off the xm unit, that would show me that power is making it through if it sees the tv, right? Anyone with any suggestions, please advise. Thanks again.

I just bought a used avic-z1, I ordered a new GEX-P10XMT, a new bt adaptor. I hooked it all up at the same time, The bluetooth is being seen, the xm is not. Its greyed out on the src select menu. I didnt hook up the power, just the two cables (data and ip-bus). Any suggestions on where to start trouble shooting? Can i probe the ipbus for power at the unit?

I just finished upgrading my used Z1 and am now ready to install it. I have a couple of questions that I hope someone from here can answer for me. #1. Does someone sell a GPS/XM/Sirius antenna mouse that allows connections to all the hide away units? Seems silly that I have to run a gps antenna, and then a XM-Nav antenna as well, and if I were to choose sirius (Seriously doubt that since I have the p10xmt). Just wondering. #2. I have an older car, I'm not finding a speed sensor signal, but When looking up other wire codes like for the Cruise Control, there is a VSS wire, I believe that VSS = Vehicle Speed Sensor which would satisfy this connection. Its a 93 Camry V6 Wagon, I dont really want to have to buy a ND-PG1 if I dont need too. Thanks in advance.

Rebel, you get a hard drive yet? I have a handful of older ide laptop drives, at least 1 is 40 gb, most of my systems use SATA now. Anyways, I got no issue sending it to you, and then letting you return it to one of the admin's here to extract (I'm all Mac, and that means SATA and inability to boot acronis except in a virt, which I dont think is gonna cut it).
