  1. Thank all those who worked very hard to make this happen and find new ways for us to enjoy our navis. I personally only stuck with pioneer navis because of the support from this forum, otherwise I wouldnt have converted to kenwoods long time ago because I primarily am an audiophile. Again, thanks:

    vblue

rgarjr and filezz for simplification. And anyone else I forgot.

Your contributions will not go unnoticed.

  2. Hey I'm getting the same thing with the update as 1.0000 and I cant even load the SD card 1 because when I do, it asks for the code but nothing works. I then tried to redownload the original 1.001 from pioneer and put the SD card in there but nothing happened. I noticed that when I initially downloaded the patch, it downloaded with the music going on simultaneously, but when I checked the version update, it said 1.0000. I even reset the unit and tried it over again but it wont update. What am I doing wrong. Any info will help. Thank you.

  3. Hello All,

Has anyone else experienced this. I only have 10 video playlist show up on my IPOD video playlist when I do the VR command. When I scroll manually, I see all 25 of my vid playlist. But when I began a voice command, and my voice isnt understood by the system, It will show only 10 playlist, then say, "which playlist would you like to play". Does anyone have a fix for this part. Man, I almost miss my Z3...

  4. This is crazy. I've purchased my cable from the same ebay vendor and I had to tape and wiggle the wire constantly to get sound from my right speakers. I emailed him today because I thought it was just a small situation given that I paid only $20 as opposed to the $50 everyone else is asking. I think I will settle on purchasing the original OEM to see if this cures my VR problems, IPOD video pausing when I get into my car, and my sounds from ipod going out on the right side every 10 miles. THanks for bringing this up.

  5. I actually purchased the Parrot double mic and it works pretty well on the phone calls. Not much difference with the VR capabilities on the IPod. Everyone I talk to says that they can hear me very well. Make sure you get the one off Ebay that has the low shipping cost (its in British Pounds so the dollar is minimized). Otherwise, you will be paying a total of $40 which is way too much for this mic.

  6. Can someone please help me because I cant seem to find a clear workaround. I switched over to the Z110bt from Z3. Two complaints I cant seem to find an answer. My mic is terrible (no one cant understand what Im saying)---tried every work around but not sure if there is another type of mic I need to use instead. (Ive. moved the mic to a better location above steering wheel column, downloaded Jetware mobile on my TOUCH PRO 2, etc)

Most importantly, I cant find anywhere in the manual or on the unit where I can access my favorite phone numbers from the map like I had on my Z3. The only options it gave me is to access it via favorites, (which I would have to go to menu, then menu again to get sub icons, then touch the favorite icon, then touch the tool icon next to the name, and then it dials the number. Or I can search for the location on the map, touch the icon, and proceed from there. Again, I am doing 4 or more steps just to dial a number. Is there a way I can simply do it in 1 to 2 steps since my VR for making a phone call isnt an option or there isnt a clear workaround. Thank you for any information. Thank you in advance for any help

  7. Moved mic from the side upper left corner near windshield to the behind the steering wheel. So far, a marked improvement regarding people being able to understand me on the other end; however, still having problems with the VR function regarding making a call. Is there a way to establish a quick link or "favorites" on the map mode so I can quickly access particular numbers. Other than that, the system is great and is faster than my previous Z3. I just miss the quicklink to 5 favorite numbers from the map mode that I had on my Z3.

  8. By exposed, Are you referring to whether there is tape over it. I placed electric tape over the sides, and the VR is still having problems understanding what I am saying when I say "Call .." or even " Play artist...On my previous Z3, I didnt have this problem so Im not sure its my phone. Where did you place your mics...where have you found the most success in mic placement. Is there another issue I am overlooking?

  9. Yes, I'm hitting the OK button prior to the BT connection. I also asked people how I sound and even called my home and left a message both with the same result: Very muffled, and difficult to understand talking. I placed the mic on the top left corner of my car. I drive a Honda Element and not sure if its the way that it is designed (Open spaced), or if it is a bad mic. Please advise...

  10. Oddly enough,

I can use the VR function for my ipod, switching sources, etc, but when I use the VR to say "call ...." then it always tells me that "I didnt get that" then just automatically cancels the command after about 3 tries. I have a touch pro 2 so I will try the jetware function, and tape up the sides to see if this helps. Any other suggestions are definitely welcomed.

  11. I want to thank codecrusher and vblue42, and all the other heroes on this forum who haven given their due diligence and assiduousness to help us install and locate new ways to make sure our systems bang! You truly helped my decision to move from the Z3 to Z110bt. I was able to install my Avic Z110bt seamlessly last night due to your hard work and I LOVE my new system (it bumps louder than ever). My IR capabilities are effortless now with the new PAC module. I am considering getting the MSN Direct so I can have a complete system. Again, thank you guys for providing us novices in the game assistance.

  12. This is true, but I started out at 6ave.com with a purchase of $924 but they sent me a dud...aka the last item on the shelf...so I went with cartoys. It is great that you received a reliable working Z110bt from 6ave. I tried to call them today to get more information on why they sent me an irreparable unit or why they are backordered for another month but I hung up after being on hold for 30+ minutes...Cheers to you, for you received a great deal.

  13. For those of you that played football, and have football fingers (fat and sometimes awkward) fingers, you can simply cut the mute wire (in lieu of taking it out) and strip it, then place it in the appropriate slot next to the severed mute wire, all the way through, and fold it up over the harness. This worked for me because my mute wire didnt come out after incessant tries and eventually tore. So I simply stripped it, and placed it through the slot next door and it works great.... :D

  14. I saw one on ebay tonight for $690 new (even though the store was called "BestUSEDITEMS")buy it now, from the same dealer who had it on Amazon.com the previous night for $600 used. Wasn't sure about this one..but they went really fast.

I have one on the way from CarToys.com in which the price matched $999.99 when I simply just called them and told them that I saw it online for $999.99 from http://www.caraudioxperts.com/product_i ... ts_id=7677 . I gave them my email address. THey sent me the coupon code. and with the bing.com feature and chose cartoys.com, and received 5% off, it totaled out to about $800---including $84 tax, $24 shipping, and $200 rebate. I will just stay with the deal I received with this authorized purchase even though the ebay sales are looking appealing.

  15. So let me get this straight...if I have an illumination wire coming from the after market car harness, I can hook this up to the power harness of the Z110bt to make it auto change to night time mode.

Also, does anyone know whether doing the bypass necessitates hooking the ground, parking break, and mute wired to chassis of car, can I just hook it up to the ground wire of my harness and ground it to the chassis of the Z110bt. I had some install issues with the last Z110bt I ordered, even after I have hooked up several of these units...and I am chalking it up to a faulty unit. Any help will be appreciated.

  16. Stupid Question: Can I just hook up the hot (red wire) to the regular red wire coming out of the harness, or do I have to modify the install as one of the previous inquiries suggested? I do have a backup camera also running our through the red wire.

By the way, bought a system from 6ave.com and the PAC and ipod wires...well the AVIC Z110bt was a dud...can you believe it, waiting almost 6 months for this IR capability, finally get the unit and it was defected. Well, ordered another one from Car Toys so cant wait to install. Thanks for any help.
