  1. AL & Ed,

I noticed that you won't ship to SoCal? How can I take advantage of the 18% discount. Will the local shop honor the discount? My closest Al & Ed shop is in Aliso Viejo, CA.

My suggestion to you is that you print a copy of the online price at Al-Eds.com of whatever F unit or accessories you wish to purchase with the discount price already reflected and take it to that Al-Eds store. This is accomplished at the check out page. Tell the local salesperson that Al-Eds.com is offering 18% discount to us here at the AVIC411 forum. Unfortunately, all Socal stores are independently owned and may not participate in this discount offered to us here. You can call Travis at (888) 900-8800 and ask if he can direct you to the closest store that can hook you up with this discount.

Hoping that the above suggestion can help you and the others that live locally in SoCal secure the AVIC411 discount.

  2. Finally almost here! Thanks Al-Eds for constantly updating our fellow AVIC411 members with regards to the saga of these Pioneer F units. And also for offering extending the discount to us here once again.

To my fellow forum members who hung in there after all this time, it was a painfully long wait but I wish that this delay would not dampen your enthusiasm to these units.

    Best regards to all.

  3.

Ouch....Diegosilang....werent you the one who organized the deal with Al-Eds and they didnt get you one of the first units....thats lame.

Yeah so sad :( . Actually they (Ontario store) offered me one of the first units but it was "buggy" so they gave me the option of keeping it and waiting for the so called "patch" or "update fix", or waiting for the second delivery of totally revamped units. So I opted for the second delivery.

Also after I wrote this post, (speaking of the devil), I received a call from Jason of the Al-Eds Ontario California store informing me that one of the Pioneer rep came by to their store and gave them the status or updates on the units.

He said that the Pioneer AVIC F units have 14 independent contractors that supplies parts for the said unit. And that if a patch or a fix is put in, Pioneer needs to have these different parts suppliers to coordinate with each other in order to get this unit working perfectly. It is a Pioneer brand in name but parts are from different independent companies. The Pioneer rep also stated that they are done and expects to have those units in Al-Eds hands in a week or a week and a half or so.

So the waiting continues. This unit better be worth the wait or I will be one of the first guys returning this for a refund.

So Al-Eds, if you are reading this post, an official update for your customers here in AVIC411.com would surely be appreciated.

  4. Just wanted to ask anyone that ordered from AL-EDs (online or in store) if any of you have gotten your F series unit yet?

If not, have you received any updates from them on status of your orders?

I myself have not received it :( since the store at Ontario California had stated that they have not received any shipment yet from Pioneer.

  5. This should not be the case and was not part of the groupbuy discount as given to us by Al-Eds. There was no such condition for any install requirement for a discount to be given. Unfortunately, some of this dealers (this is my first time hearing this incident) are probably unaware and are just taking advantage of some of our members.

I hope if the Al-Eds rep is reading this thread to please send out an email or memo to all Socal Dealers and tell them that there is no such condition for an install to be done in order for an AVIC411 member to avail of this discount.

I also would like to ask the Al-Eds rep, if possible, to give an actual estimate on when do we expect shipments or stocks of this F series in your local stores. I prepaid mine more than two weeks ago at the Ontario, California store and still waiting to receive mine at this time, which also holds true for most of the AVIC411 members that preordered one.

Although you (Al-Eds) are not to blame for this delays, just some updates will suffice and kinda quiet down any "unrest from the natives" :D . And thanks again for giving us this discount

  6. I currently have a Hummer and a Avic Z2 upgraded to the Z3. I am selling my Hummer and getting a Smart car. My question is, can I find a mounting bracket for the Smart car? The smart has benn out for a long time in the UK. I would like the F series, the 90 to be exact.

I have a smart car and waiting to get my F90bt installed. I bought the dash kit from this place www.4smartcar.com and it is very reasonable in price $24.99. They also sell the harness that you need to hook up any in dash stereo nav that you want. Hope this helps with your search.

I am also glad that you are now becoming more realistic about the economics of driving an suv. I too used to drive a v8 Sequoia, now it is sitting in my garage collecting dust after being burned numerous times with $100 :( fill up each time at the gas station.

  7. yea, but i wonder if that was there intent.

Yes, that was their intent. In fact this discount code was made effective for the rest of this month for everything in their store. They want you to spend your money on whatever item you want in their store as a goodwill to this forum. So shop with confidence knowing that they are not going to get back at you and tell you that there was a mistake with your purchase. :D

  8. Hey guys,

I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for giving us an opportunity to hook up the members of avic411! We currently have in stock 20 AVICF90BT with 100 more coming and about 150 AVICF700BT with 200 plus on the way! While the AVIC90BT does have the DVD ability the AVICF700BT is a screaming deal available after discount under $700!

I've read in the thread various things that I can probably help you out on. Instead of going to the website to check stuff out or for assistance, you can call Travis in customer service directly at (888) 900-8800 or via emaiL at thinkle@al-eds.com and he will be able to help all you guys out with any questions you might have.

Being we have stores in Southern California the website doesn't ship to this area. However, this offer will be good at any of our stores. And yes, our stores are definitely able to professionally install these units in your vehicles. As I saw mentioned above, we have an excellent gallery on our website titled "Extreme Rides" which showcases our talented installers work. All Al & Ed's locations offer a lifetime warranty on our installation labor, that's transferable to all stores too!

Thanks again guys for bonding together to allow us to put together a special like this for avic411.com! And again, if you have any questions contact Travis with the contact info listed above.

Just would like to take this opportunity to thank Al-Eds, particularly Elie Rothstein, the owner of Al-Eds of West Hollywood for making this excellent deal possible for the members of AVIC411. I was amazed that instead of just giving a discount for the AVICF90BT, they went all the way and made all their products in their store eligible with this special discount code. My gratitude to you all at AL-Eds for working this out for us. This is also an excellent way to advertise Al-Eds to consumers that are most likely to buy products from your store.

I also wanted to say that I went to the Al-Eds store this morning in Ontario and purchased my AVICF90BT unit there. It was funny that Jason, one of the workers there did not believe me at first when I told him about the deal, in fact he said that he called the corporate office to verify this seemingly tall tale of mine and he was told that there was no such arrangement of an AVIC411 discount code. I told him that if he went to the website and enter that code it would show the discount. He finally believed me when I brought out my notebook computer and entered the AVIC411 discount code and bam there was the $217 discount. So now please spread the word among our fellow AVIC411 members to take advantage of this code, its only good thru this week.

And once again thanks to Al-Eds. :D And hoping that this won't be the last special discount that you are going to offer to us!

    all the best,

    Diegosilang

  9. I live in San Fernando Valley, can I just go to the local store in West LA and get it direct from him? or do i have to go to the Burbank store in order to get the discount? I also wanted to see if they can install it for me as well...

Same for me. I live in Pasadena and I'd love to just go and pick up the device.

Yes, you could call him (Elie) in his West LA store 310.854.5454, or email him at elie@al-eds.com and tell him that you are part of the AVIC411 group buy and he will facilitate whatever product you want to buy from him. Even ship them to you if you want to, or as you prefer to come to his store instead. Hope this helps. :D

    All the best,

    Diegosilang

  10. That is one SWEEEET deal.

I've never ordered from Al & Ed's before and think I'm missing something...

I live in SoCal and the checkout says: "It appears that you live outside of our shipping area. Please visit our store locator to find a store near you for pickup." under Delivery Method.

Do you continue with the checkout anyways? How do you choose a store to pickup from?

Oh I feel your pain drumasia, I too live in Socal and unable to proceed in the checkout process.

    There are two ways for us to purchase whatever we want;

    1. We change our shipping address to some relative or friend outside of Socal and have them shipped to us, or

    2. Call one of your local stores and tell them that you live in the Socal Area and can't purchase online so you need to buy from them locally. Tell them that you have a discount code that you need to use to avail of the sale price. That way they are able to sell it to you at a discount. That is what I am doing and I have already called one of the closest store to me.

    hope this helps, :)

    Diegosilang

  11. By the way the discount code is AVIC411 and is good thru this week only.

Why are you people buying their products when you know they have issues.I wouldn't,wait until they resolve the problem before you buy.If you continue to buy then they will take their time to fix the problem if ever!!

I appreciate your concern there Julius and I am sure you are not alone. What we are doing here is taking a risk that a typical early adopter is taking and gambling that there would be no glitches with this first production units. I leave it all to you the consumer and enthusiast to take advantage of this discount or wait it out until the kinks are all ironed out. Some of you may also take advantage of the discount code to purchase the AVICD3 or the Z2 or the Z3 if you don't want to be an early adopter. This is a free country and you are free to spend your money as you wish. Its all laid out to you, either take the blue pill or the red pill.

So Thanks again for your patience and good luck to all.

    All the best, :D

  12. Hey guys, thank you for your patience and also for posting your interests in this thread. It has been a long day and the process of working a deal with Al & Eds was finally done.

I just got off the phone with Elie Rothstein, the owner of Al-Eds that is located at West Hollywood, California. Now (drumrolls) this is the deal that I have worked out for us AVIC411 forum members and its enthusiasts. Thanks to our numbers and interest in purchasing with them, Al & Eds as a company has agreed to give us a discount of 18% of not only the AVIC-90BT but also on EVERYTHING that is on their website. All you need to do is to put in a discount code at the Check out area after shopping whatever product you want to purchase from them. I was able to get this kind of deal after telling them that we would not only purchase the AVIC F series, but also interested with other accessories. So they instead gave us a discount code that would work on everything. The other benefit to this deal with them is that the warranty is honored by Pioneer because this company is an authorized dealer.

The total is going to look like this and this is an actual copy and paste of the website after entering the discount code.

    AVICF90BT

    Pioneer Premier® AVIC-F90BT DVD/CD/MP3/WMA

    Car In-Dash GPS Navigation System

5.8" High Resolution WGVA Touch Panel Display

    50 watts x 4 plus 3-Pair Pre Amp Outputs

Easy to Recognize 3D Landmark Icons

Built-in Navigation (Always On) with Voice Command, Built-in Bluetooth and iPod Cable Included

ORDER YOURS TODAY! Available early/mid June

    $1,199.99 x = $1,199.99

    Subtotal:

    $1,199.99

    Discount coupon :

    $216.00

    Discounted subtotal:

    $983.99

So as you can see this is what it actually looks like after the discount code is applied.

Thanks again to everyone for your patience and expressing your interest. :D

  13. Thanks HiFiSi for putting this list together, and it does look impressive. It is about 7:20 am here (pacific time) and I will give the Al and Eds owner a call around noon today to see about his pricing for this Group Buy. I do appreciate the response to this thread and I also understand that all of us here are after a great deal and not just a measly discount. Hey Im all for that. With this kind of interest and number how can anyone refuse us. Anyway just hold on to your horses and I will return to you all later today to tell you what comes out from this Group buy proposal with the said person.

  14. I'd be interested if the price is right. Do they have them in stock ?

They are not yet in stock and he said he will know by Monday on the specifics of their arrival. He was getting conflicting shipment dates and did not want to elaborate until he gets confirmation. As with the price, lets all cross our fingers that he could come out with an excellent if not a decent deal. We will all know by Monday. :)

  15. Guys, so far we have 5 people counting myself that wants 6 of this bad boys.

So what I did was I called the owner of the Al & Eds place in Los Angeles again and told him that so far we have 5 and kinda asked him about pricing. He said that he is working something out for us and he is familiar with this web forum of Pioneer AVIC enthusiasts. He wanted me to call him back on Monday to find out how much of a discount for all of us. I emphasized to him that for this deal to come thru it should be a nice discount and not some kind of $10 or $20 off kind of a deal. He understood and he said for me to call him on Monday for the price. In the meantime for those who are interested to join in, let your voices be heard by saying so in this thread.

About the warranty, it should not be a problem since Al & Eds is listed as an authorized Premier dealer.

Thanks again and please be assured that my interest here is just like anyone else which is to get a significant discount on this expensive gadget and be able to enjoy it without leaving a big hole in my pocket.

  16. Just wanted to gauge interest on a possibility of a group buy from Al & Eds that is located in Los Angeles. I am in contact with the owner and asked him about a special price for a group buy on the premier edition F90BT (no discussions on the other models like F900BT) and so far he does not want to give a price without knowing how many buyers are involved. I guess he just wanted to know if it is worth his hassle which is understandable.

How I envision it to work is that I am going to ask the owner of AL & Eds to ship it to you anywhere you are in the US, but if you are local and willing to pick it up you could do that too. Payment would also be directed to him and not one person handling it, which is easier and all you need to do is to contact that said person and say that this is for the AVIC411 group buy. So if anyone is interested please post in this thread and we will see if this idea is possible.

IMHO, it is better to bargain with the seller if there are a lot of us versus one customer (who does not really have a good bargaining leverage). So speak up and lets hear it from everyone :D
