  1. Yup it did and it is not locked.  I did see the folders/files so that confirm that it unlocked.

My issue seems to have been the USB to IDE interface.  I copied all that I needed, got an older computer out and hooked it up, installed files and loaded the HDD with the 2012 maps.

That worked.. I had unlocked the original drive with the zip you made last night and loaded my org backup and then updated it..

So I'm set.  Now the trip next Friday.. Vacation with new maps

  2. Hello, on a drive that I got years ago from garretoomey, the process flashed to red..  So I'm still trying it.. doing a backup via Arconis and will upgrade.

Don't know if it already unlocked..  I do see directories with sizes..

  3. A Little note of what I have:

    GPS Program Version: 1.200000

    HDD Application Version: 3.100200

    Version: 03.0000

    CDDB Version:  08-01-0010

    I skipped the Device #..

    Off screen of Z2

It is a drive I got fro you Garretoomey way back, poss 2009

I wonder if the drive is unlocked.. If not I will use the CD to unlock.

  4. Make sure the cover and screws are in the unit.. The cover has 2 small black screws and the hard drive has a mounting bracket for the hard drive and screws.

If these are missing, I would consult garrettoomey more. If I recall, you need it for operation.

  5. Sprint Instinct model SPH-M800

Works great, level of receiver volume adjustable via volume on handset and or in setup. At first could barely hear the person I was talking too. Adjusted the system volume and handset volume to make it louder.

I did no transfering of contacts since I upgraded from my Motorola V3m razor.

People are reporting that the Instinct is clearer than the Motorola V3m phone.

  6. Ok,

In either AM r FM select AV Settings..

Then In AV settings select SYSTEM SETTINGS

On that page find three items (ICONS) on lower left of screen

Left one is to select What to mute

2nd is for How much to mute (10 db, 20 db, or all)

and the 3rd is for where you would like the audio of Nav, HS and some other to be heard (Rt spkr, Left Spkr or both Spkrs)

    Hope this helps

  7. I can tell you that the VSS wire has nothing to do with your problems.

The VSS helps with calculations of the GPS during motion and slope.

I have notice that the accuracy is not as good as my other unit I had in the Outlander. I would be passing the cross street as the GPS is showing approach. It is only slightly off and this could be due to 3D settings still calculating (you won't have if VSS is not connected). Also the GPS arrow is showing correct positioning on mine.

My Pocket IQue M3 Garmin gets better accuracy when it switches into 3D mode (on this unit is more sats acquired).

As far as as the other stuff, if its wired correct, you should have the option of setting a destination as your moving.

  8. The Z3 maps (2008) are pretty close to current.. My house was built in a new sub here in Utah County in late 2006 and it shows the correct location and street name.

The Z2 maps (2007) stopped just short of the new roads to the house (2 short streets away)

I15 had all the exits renum thru Utah state. They became like 3 numbers off from the current.. Z2 had the old numbers and Z3 is current.

    Hope this helps

  9. Ok, if you are making your own CD'd use Nero Express and select Music, Audio CD.

    Then select the songs (mp3)

Title of song is on the left, artist in middle and it is a good chance it just repeats the title of song.

Now select each song and click properties and fix it the way you want then select the order you want by clicking and hold as you move the title up or down and place it in order.

The next to final burning settings and add your CD title, artist or artists or various. Just what ever you like to call it.

Burn it and pop it in the Pioneer. It should pull your Title of the CD and your songs in the order that you had them set along with artists.

Now if you get like iTunes, make sure the folder reflects the name of the artis or title of song. Use iTunes to burn the CD making sure the order and artists are correct. Gracenote will pick it if it is correct.

If you title the cd wrong, look up the correct spelling and name. Edit it in albums (select the album (might need to go back and do it 2 x's) and select the icon that looks like a paper) and you will get the properties screen of the album. Edit the CD title correctly and if you want speech to reflect your actions, hit yes. Then when done, go to update (I think its that) and let it update. If all is ok, your CD in the Library will be correct titles and all.

Watch out that sometimes the last song ends up as the 1st song on nero.. Just a warning.

    Hope this helps.

  10. Sprint V3m will work in all call functions if the firmware is up to date.

If you only get Unknown on the display and you have all of your phone book entered,

Upgrade via Sprint will fix half the issues..

    Or

Goto moto and get the software and have them upgrade it.

    This resolves all issues..

I will post the link if anyone is interested.. (on my laptop)

  11. Owning the Outlander Nav unit, there is one item in Bluetooth feature I miss.

Matching step by step of the 2 units, the last part on the Z2/Z3 you need to push a button on the screen to make the call..

The other unit, it asks.. 'Call 1234567890 is this correct'.

you Respond via voice as 'Yes'

The unit says 'Dialing 1234567890' or was it calling.. But no push buttons or screens touches.

    Just a wish..

  12. When I burn a CD and its a mix of different songs, I just give the CD a name that closely reflects the music.

Then I go to the Albums side and edit the Album name to have it match for voice commands.

I dont know if thats what you are looking for.. but thats it in a nutshell..

  13. Correct this..

The Update from Sprint did a close job, Motorola update from there website corrected the issues.

You need to do a lil lie on age of phone and get the program, you can then upgrade the firmware for moto and it should resolve Caller ID and displaying the pixs..

My wife called me from the car for a test and did not like the picture I picked for a woman..

Told her that at least it is not a Hamburger..

  14. I have looked all over and can't find the Sprint V3m phone.

I have my home, wife's cell and others set in the phone book and their tel numbers as 10 digits no spaces or dashes.

When they call, I get no caller ID or names listed, just unknown caller.

Even the associated picture that I added does not show.

Does this feature work or should I go get a new Sprint phone that someone here has working..

note: I dont recall it working before upgrade, I sw HD and still same.

  15. Ok, this is for the XL-7, but as if you did'nt know, it is like the Chevy Equinox, Pontiac Torrent and some other GM SUV's

Ok all... Just spent a good part of this morning hunting down this famous VSS wire for navigation units.

After following every possible path it can be found in the car at..

Behind the Driver side kick panel.. remove the panel (the one on the left under the dash).

Find 2 connectors.. a smaller Yellow and a much Larger Gray connector (has a white latch to make it dis-connect).

The gray connector has a Green/White wire and is in the corner of the plug unit (pin 17 if you fine it). But the hard part is that if you do not have factory NAVIGATION (If you have the manufactures navigation a plug with the lonely Green/White wire will be connected to the head unit.) installed by manufacture, you will not have the luxury to get to the wire..So... You must unplug that top connector and pop the bottom one away from the car so you can get to the Green/White wire to be able to splice to it..

That kick panel is clipped to the floor and 2 are by the front edge.

I hope this helps for your navigation needs.
