Yeah, im downloading it..
Im sending it in for various problems, my dvd is stuck in the drive and wont come out, the GPS is inaccurate by about 20feet ahead, and i get the alternator whine, and i grounded it and it still wont go away.
Im hoping they would just send me a newly re-furbished unit .

I installed a bootleg 3.0 firmware, then installed the 3.01 x series update, im trying to downgrade to 2.0006, or whatever it was. im downloading the backup now but i have no clue on how to go about this.
The reason im downgrading is because im sending my unit into pioneer for repair.

holy crap thats alot of info..guess ill be double checking everything you just said.
And its the alternator whine because the noise changes along with the speed of the car.

alt wine? check your grounds
does your car have a factory amp?
does your car have a aftermarket 4ch amp?
make sure that there are no high current power wires running too close to signal cables
make sure that all your ground are in the same spot
make sure that your battery has a good ground clean of any corrosion
make sure that your motor has a good ground, not loose or no corrosion
make sure that your gains are not turned up too high
if you dont have any amps there is either a groung issue with the radio or there is somthing wrong with the radio
oh yea, it helps to know what kind of vehicle it is in and what parts where used for the install, and what components are hooked up in the system, and what stereo option the car had (bose, monson, mach, HK, Mark Levinston...) and anything else you might think could be helpfull
I run my power and rca's together but i had a alpine in before and it never gave me the whine.
My grounds are good, i have a rockford fosgate power 1000, i knw how to set my gains and i have even tried grounding the rca's to the unit with no avail.
As for the GPS does the VSS need to be hooked up? i've read that that was only used when the gps lost reception. Plus even when im completely stopped its still giving me a wrong location
-
i've moved the gps antenna several times, so i know its not the position of it.
the gps ALWAYS says im about 50-70 feet ahead of where i actually am.
Could this have to do with the firmware? i downloaded the 3.001 or whatever from pioneer thats for the x910bt..im not sure where else to look.
and another issue i have is the alternator whine, how can i get rid of that?
-
$400, it looks like they took it off the pioneer-mel site now though
-
I just got mine for $400
If you work for Best Buy pm me and i can show you how to get it.

Can i use WINCEIMG.BIN & WINCEIMG.CKS from the 3.01 update? if not where can i find the 3.0 WINCEIMG.BIN & WINCEIMG.CKS ?
-
Any other help?
-
Sorry i really didnt understand your post, on the first part you said no but the second you said yes?
-
Like the title says, can i simply download the 3.01 from the x910 from pioneers site and do the update?

The gps isnt working correctly, the location was all off it said i was in LA when im in Sacramento. i had to put it manually, after that i went for a drive around the block, i noticed that when i returned the location was about a block down from were i am, i installed the speed sense wire which was a white wire with a orange stripe in my 00 mustang. when i go to the gyros menu it says that its not available, no idea why since i plugged the speed sense wire.
i also did the reverse wire which i tapped directly from my reverse light.
any help/suggestions?
-
ah ok, so if i just ground it and flip the switch i wont be able to watch movies.
ok thanks for all the help!
-
1. Thats only for the backup camera right? so i dont NEED it if i dont have one correct?
2. This is the same as illumination wire right?
3. I am bypassing it so all i have to do is ground it correct?
thanks for the help
-
ok thanks, is there any particular reason why i shouldent cut it? im gonna get a t-tap but im just curious
and is that the only thing out of the ordinary with installing this unit?
-
also, i read that i shouldn't cut into the wire or something like that, would i be fine if i cut it and crimped it?
-
What kind of car are you installing the unit into?
00' Mustang
why do you need to find the wire? I'm confused is it only to have the speed sensor hooked up?Yeah, its for the gps.
thanks for the replys guys

I Should be getting my unit this week, i have installed several head units but have not installed any navigation/video units.
other than the VSS aka speed sense wire is there any other wire in particular that i should be aware of?
Also i have read in a couple places that the VSS wire is a White/Orange wire in the passanger kick panel. is that correct?
