  1. The system does load quicker and gets rid of that "System Starting Up" message.

    Bluetooth

Contact are still duplicated however there is a the word "mobile" "home" indicating which number you are dialing. (nice)

Contact names remained unchanged for me and no additions of "mobile" "home" etc.. I also cleared the memory on the unit then transfered the phone book again, but no change... BTW I am AT&T w/ Motarola V3xx

I was really hoping this would be fixed

  2. Just updated mine and found all my presents for XM and FM and AV settings all retained :) Also my background image was not reset.

The phone contacts are still there, but not accessible til after phone is added.

Took a quick look around and though I saw new options under XM > Func > Memo? I don't remember the Alert on/off or what appears to be the ability to select/deselected individual songs?

Also doesn't seem to have the continued slow response after the booting message disappears like before where it would take several minutes before performance was "normal"

  3. I've got the f90 with the XM and also getting very poor quality sound compared to FM and CD/DVD audio. When I change to the XM source I am getting speaker air "noise" then the music is at a lower volume. When I turn up the volume the noise goes with it. It sounds like turning up stereo sound when no audio is actually playing, but in this case there is both.

I figure its the XM module and not the head unit?

  4. Excellent! On that note, two points to be made -

    - when Al-Ed's sends out bulk notices, can you please send them out BCC to help avoid spam from those with infected computers

I only saw 1 email that didn't use the BCC (6/23) and I am sure they did that by mistake. Al-Eds has done an awesome job of keeping everyone here and on email well informed.

I also received my shipment notif, now just waiting for FedEx tracking to catch up lol

  5. I ran across this today. Looks like Pioneer is releasing a mobile version of the F500, but its listed for Japan release only at this time....

Here in Japan we'll soon have our Geeky hands on the latest PNS from Pioneer, the AVIC-T10. Featuring a 5.8†VGA screen, our PNS has 4GB of internal memory, Bluetooth, and can act as a hands-free system. It also has HDSPA connection support (through a module that allows you to plug in your mobile phone), TV (1Seg), and plays WMA, MP3 and AAC files. It provides Smart Loop Traffic Congestion Information, Parking Space Availability Information, Gasoline Price Information, and PinPoint Weather reports.

Especially interesting is the “Rendez-Vous Service,†useful when meeting someone as it allows you to select a convenient meeting place based on emails received from your friend.

  6. Is the D or Z series support different?

I thought I saw on another post that Album art was supported? If it is, can it be read from the ID3 tag or does it need seperate file like folder.jpg?

It would be really nice if Pioneer could add support for some of the other items I listed.

Thanks HiFiSi for your quick responses too!!

  7. Sorry if this is a repeat, but I did a search and couldn't find any specifics....

Does anyone know the details of the ID3 tags that will be supported by the F-Series (for me the 90BT). The manual does not breakdown the specific tags supported.

    ID3 tag

This is a method of embedding track-related information in a MP3 file. This embedded information can include the track title, the artist’s name, the album title, the music genre, the year of production, comments and other data. The contents can be freely edited using software with ID3 Tag editing functions. Although the tags are restricted by the number of characters, the information can be viewed when the track is played back.

    MP3 compatibility

    -CD-R/-RW / DVD-R/-RW/-RDL

    ID3 Tag Ver. 1.0, 1.1, 2.2, 2.3

-USB storage device / SD memory card

    ID3 Tag Ver. 1.0, 1.1, 2.3

I would like to know sepcifically if the following ID3 tag fields will display (screenshot would be awesome):

    • >Track Title
      >Artist
      >Album
      >Album Art
      >Date
      >Disc#
      >Tack#
      >Genre

  8. After my post my boss actually said he had bought some stuff from ikesound as well with no issue, but he didn't need customer support....There site seems a bit sketchy with no info about what they are actually authorized in and no info on units that have been released for over a month (excluding the obvious shipping holds).

I'm sticking with al-eds myself since as its evident through this forum that they are going for 110% customer service.

  9. There is alot of talk of "too many issues/bugs" and no longer considering buying the F-Series, while others who have installed the 700, 900 or 90 are happy with the units and don't mind giving Pioneer the chance to "fix" these reported issues that were so quickly recognized after released.

I am one of the ones that is staying optimistic about the F-Series and holding about (very patiently) for my 90bt to be shipped. Maybe I'm just a sucker for new technology gadgets, but Pioneers in my opinion is setting the new standard for the next generation of multimedia units. (If they went with Linux we probably wouldn't be having issues lol). Personally I think all the chatter at this time is pre-mature considering Pioneers clear efforts to put emphasis on resolving these issues with shipment holds.

To be fair to all the posts about the negative response to the F-Series I thought a poll to show both side would be helpful to those still undecided!

  10. Dear Valued AVICF90BT Customer,

I have been getting a few emails about any updates regarding the AVICF90BT. Pioneer has still not given us an ETA at this time. I am sorry for the delay and any inconvenience that this has caused.
