Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe changing the boot image requires actually hacking and reburning the nav dvds.

You may be right about the ip bus thing, but I have had the N2 N3 and N4 in my cars. The N2 it did show but would not sync. The N3 it sync'ed but kept losing the connection and it was driving me crazy. I couldn't dial a number or see who was calling. I could just pick it up and hang up. The N4, rules. All works well.

Well some of us aren't interested in buying an entirely new system every year just because pioneer can't release a fucking upgrade to allow the previous units to interface with the bluetooth systems.
-
Just about every car manufacturer except jeep?
-
You could just get the red/white RCA inputs and hook up one of your ipods that way.
-
I had to take it back to the shop after my N3 was installed because they never hooked up the illumination wire. They probably got lazy and figured that I'd never know the difference.
-
So this place in bellmore would be willing to do the n3 bypass for me?
ITs all the way on the south shore, but if they were willing to do it I might have to give them a try. -
Any other differences? Any interface changes? Are these going to be the discs used on the n4?

Well I bought the basslink:

Except, circuit city had a closeout sale because they're no longer stocking infinity products.
I paid 200$ instead of 400$. WOO!
Having it installed tomorrow.

So it will beep like a reverse parking alarm?
Any answers to my other questions anyone?

Hey I have an n3, and I'm looking for recommendations.
First, I'm interested in a parrot bluetooth reciever, since I've given up on pioneer making one specifically for the n3. Can anyone recommend a particular model? Also, can the n3 be set up so when a call is incoming, the radio automatically mutes?
Second, I'm contemplating getting new sound in my car. I have a 05 Jeep Liberty. I'd like new speakers, but I'm not sure which ones are worth the money.
Also, I'm interested in a small sub, but I do not want to lose my trunk space. I was looking at the infinity bass link combo sub/amp. Anyone have any thoughts on it or do you have better suggestions?

Thanks
Oh and what is this: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/v ... 28,00.html
Is it the camera with a mount that will automatically move back and forth?

Come on don't just delete your posts. Let us know what happened. Did you attempt to put it back in?
For people who didn't see it, he posted a picture of his circuit board with a charred section on it.
-
Wowwww what did you do? What were you trying to do?
And yeah, it looks like you used a high wattage soldering gun and kept it against the circuit board for a long time.
From the looks of it, thats probably the end of your unit. You might be able to sell off the screen but that circuit board might not work again.
-
Well your ipod should shut off after five minutes of nonuse.
-
Not even a please.
I'm wearing yankee boxers right now.

Paisan is correct. The best use for that feature is if you are out gallavanting Deliverance-style, (yes, I said gallavanting) and would like to avoid the lost-in-the-woods, sodomized-by-hillbillies part.
Oh well then you're just taking all the fun out of it.
-
Well if you're in the garage with the car running, give it a few minutes and you won't even notice that your radio isn't playing.
-
The deal is Safety!
Thats for clearing that one up six months later.

Those are pretty funny, but I wouldn't want people poking at my screen for no reason.
If only that were possible though. -
Because several people say that their phones won't autoconnect, or that it doesn't always work properly. I want to be able to go in my car, have my phone automatically connect, and I don't want to have to flip the screen out every time I want to answer an incoming call.
I wish I could just demo one of the bluetooth units with my n3 to see how it works.
Still though, theres no reason why they shouldn't have made one specifically for the N3.

I am not 100% sure of the name, but a friend of mine was telling me that it is actually an industry term for navigation systems called "breadcrumbs". Its a feature that shows you where you have been in case you need to back track for whatever reason. Yes, much like Hanzel and Gretel story.
But the white dots on the map really aren't that helpful unless you zoom in all the way and try to follow them down EVERY street. If it actually kept a list of what roads you were on I could see that being useful.
And pac man, ahahaha. That would be awesome.

If a cop pulls you over, unless you're playing a movie as hes standing at your window, how will we know if theres a bypass or not? Hes not going to pull apart your car if he pulls you over for speeding or whatever.
-
ahh why would that do that?
He sounds like Yoda.
-
You tried pressing it more than once?

I was kinda wondering where mine is too

CDIB100II & Iphone 4 compatibility
in iPod/iPhone/iPad
Posted
Hello. I have an AVIC N3 with the CDIB100II. I was wondering if there was any way to get the Iphone 4 working with the interface, especially for charging it at the very least. When I attach the iphone I get an error that the device is not compatible with my iphone. Is there any work around that anyone knows of?
http://www.cablejive.com/products/Car-Charge-Kit.html - Also, I have seen these kits. Does anyone have any experience with them/how well they work?
Thanks.
