1. If you unplug the passenger airbag light on the dash while the battery is hooked up you will get that light. Have to take it back to the dealer to reset the airbag system. I had the same problem on my o5 X. Look forward to paying them for this 20 second process. General rule: when working on the X always disconnect the - on the battery. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!

2. I have the extreme roadmac on my D2 and I am extremely pleased with it. Definitely a high quality cable. Video quality is pretty good. Not DVD quality but I guess it will depend on the size of the file on the ipod. I guess you can max the quality settings on the DVD rip but it would take up a ton of space on the ipod.

Overall I really am impressed with my set up.

3. to bypass the 5700 you need to ground the e-brake wire, but here is the twist it must be grounded when the unit is powered then ungrounded then grounded again. Easiest way to accomplish this is put a toggle switch on the grounded wire. Power it up and flick the switch twice.

Taadaaaaaaaaaaah video in motion. And no the aux inputs will not work without this little trick.

4. You will need this.
I ordered mine and it will be here Thursday.

By the way I will have a CDIB100 available come Thursday if anyone is interested in it.
Great unit but just blows with a D2.
5. Sorry for the bad news but Sirius and Xm sound like crap! No other way to put it. They have only so much bandwith to play with and they choose quantity over quality. I now have XM and just dropped Sirius and I will tell you that Sirius sounds better ( cleaner )
6. I nam in desperate need of someone in my area with a CD-R11 remote so I can get into my service menu on my DVD80. I need to force it back to the original nav disk that came with the unit. I can not even find one of these remotes to buy so I look to the AVIC411 community for my cry for help. Anyone?????
7. Was doing a little searching and I came across this. Very interested. I will order one up tonight. Just thought I would pass on the info to everyone.

vidoe quality is not that great because of a cheap 10 dollar cable, getting an Apple cable this week.
Any questions on pulling any panels just ask. I have taken them all off now.
9. The D2 will fit. I know this because I just put one in my X.
Use the brackets that are on the factory radio. Will bolt right up. Only problem is there will be about a 1/8 gap on the bottom of radio. You will understand it when you see it. All I did was use black piece of plastic and used the trim ring as a template and cut out my own ring and placed it around the radio and when you snap the front dash trim it holds it in place. Looks pretty slick, you would never notice it. So don't get a refund because it will indeed fit. I can get pics up later on today if you want. I am actually at work now installing my XM module. Got tired of the interface on Sirius.
Good luck!
10. Not trying to hijack this thread but I have a similar problem that I was using the directions for a downgrade but ran into a couple of problems. First off let me state that I have an Avic DVD80 not aa Avic DVD90 but I just assumed this method would also work. I get into the screen with the reset and eject buttons and it asks me for a password but I have no way to enter it. What is a 10 keypad and what is the ok button. I dont see it. I just see the dummy alphabet. Is the password the same as the Avic 90???
Thanks in advance. :D
