  1. suck it up and spend some money on a regular harness (w/ speaker wire inputs) and an adjustable line out converter. Peripheral makes a nice one called the SVEN4 which gives you speaker wire in and out for just this occasion. Will give you proper level into factory bose amp and eliminate any engine noise/whine you may get w/ the plug you used.

Also, next time consider professional installation.

Thanks for the reply. I may be able to get the unit swapped for the f90bt, would this solve my issue? or will I still need to change to a regular harness w/ the line out converter?

  2. Hey Guys

I recently purchased a AVIC-F900BT and installed it into an Infiniti G35 w/ Bose. I used the metra 7551 wiring harness to keep the factory Bose amp. http://www.metraonline.com/products.aspx?s=7551 and the CD-IU230V ipod cable.

Upon wiring everything I tested the radio and it worked, sound is coming from all speakers but very low. When maxing out the volume on the f900bt, it isn't very loud, I cant even hear anything until I raise it to at least 45.

When using the IPOD connection, nothing is heard at all. Where could I have gone wrong? I didn't use the speaker wires, but used the pig tales(to retain the amp). If the amp wasn't powered then I wouldn't be getting anything out of the speakers at all right?

Also, does the f900bt come with a trim plate? The F900BT doesn't properly fit w/ the JDM Double Din kit, there's a bit of a gap.

    Thanks!

  3. Ya, I saw that one but I didn't pull the trigger, it wasn't even in stock and at that price it can be had cheaper via an authorized dealer in the states.

I'd prefer to buy it locally but I need a JDM double din kit for my car and the seller is unwilling to ship it here.

Anywho, just like you I dont mind buying it now and then applying the firmware update.

Its better then my girlfriend singing Celine Dion while I have no stereo.

  4. Maybe im not the majority here, but id rather have a unit thats slow booting up and has minor glitches than nothing at all... throwing in an update at a later time is no big deal.

Guy at Future Shop is giving me a sweet deal, $850 for the F900BT, so I dont wanna just walk away, but damn... its maddening not even having a rough idea on a release.... days..weeks....months?

Guess not much I can do about but whine/complain/wait.

That is a damn good deal, is this a friend via employee discount?

If they can sell that low im curious as to what their cost is.

  5. Hi Guys

I've been shopping around for the F-Series line and have viewed several online retailers, with varying prices.

It would nice if we can consolidate information on current sales and reseller ratings, authorized or un-authorized.

So post what F-Series deals you've found and lets help each other out :)

  6. From what I've heard from alot of retailers and Pioneer Canada themselves is that they have delayed shipment to fix the issues.

Whatever stock that has been shipped out to retailers are being sold. Anything that hasn't shipped out from Pioneer will likely stay that way until they can iron out the bugs.

I'm planning a trip to Buffalo soon, I'll likely be getting mine via cross-border.
