  1. Hi I am in the uk and attempting to fit my Avic-HD3BT to my 2005 Vauxhall Monaro.

My car has steering wheel controls for the stereo and I want these to work with my Pioneer. Does anyone have any info or advice on how to acheive this???

The car is similar to a Pontiac GTO in the USA, should have the same steering wheel controls.

Any help would be most appreciated.

    Thanks

  2. Hi guys, I think I have connected up the right wire in my MR2 turbo to the speed pulse wire on my Avic-HD3 but I just want to clearify with you guys on this before I bolt all the dashboard back in.

I connected it to a pink and white wire on the blue connector on the back of the clockset. Would anyone happen to know if this is the correct wire? Please bare in mind I am in the UK so this is a Jap import right hand drive car.

Anyway I went for a very slow drive up the road just to test it (with no dashboard in), on my Pioneer unit the speed pulse went up to 4 when I was going around 15-20mph, and went bellow this as I slowed down, was at zero when stopped. I didn't test the actual speed display on the Avic, but if the speed pulse is registering like this I have the correct wire right???????????

Sorry if its a stupid question but I just want to check. Also does anyone know where the reverse wire is on these MR2s???

    Thanks

  3. Hi guys :D I am from London and I'll start by saying what a great site this is. Its been a great resorce since I got my unit a week ago. :D

I have an AVIC-HD3BT which I'm pretty sure is the same as your Z2 in the US??

I installed it in my Ford Cougar (Mercury Cougar in America) and apart from a fitment issue the headunit itself is amazing! I want to tody up the fitting of it but the stuff it does is unreal!

I have read that for security reasons, if the unit is removed from the car or the battery is disconnected.... then it supposed to have some sort of passsword protection when you start it up again? I have not set a password on the unit nor can I find where to do so. Could anyone shed any light on this for me :?:

    Thanks :D
