1.
Hey everyone,
I just installed a Z1 into a 2002 Honda Accord. Everything works fine, but my SRS light stays on and I also have the Check Engine light on too. These weren't there before the installation though. Any ideas of why they're there or what I could do about them.

Also, if my SRS light is on, does that mean the airbags won't deploy at all? I've searched online and I've found that there are specific ways for each type of car to reset the SRS light, but I don't want to just reset the light and not have the airbags functional obviously. Please let me know if any of you have any possible solutions or information. Thanks so much.
You can reset the light and there will be no problem with the airbag. Nissans have a way to do it yourself and I have done it with no problems.

You must of disconnected the Air bag sensor when doing the install.

Trust me reset your self. As for the engine light if that does not go out then get with a Honda forum and see if one has anything to do with the other.

    However I will double check.
It is not a daisy chain. I have a July unit and it hooks in directly to its own spot. No other wires needed either. I am not sure what djoker04 is referring to.
My Bad that's ony on the D1/D2. Sorry

  3. I went and bought a Pink L2 for my daughter and decided to try the hook up with the BT. NO DICE!! If I get in the car with My razr off turn on the system and then turn on phone, it will hook up but still unable to register it. Tried to do it with the L2 won't even link up with it have to do it Manually. So there must be something in the Razr style phones that causes this setback. I tried a friend of my son's Sony Ericson and it linked up automatically after registering and restarting the system. That's a shame because I love Moto and was going to get a Blackberry soon off Ebay but don't know if it's Moto or just the razr style phones. Need to find someone with a diff style Moto.

I like Nokia but nothing to match my stlye......at least not yet.
Treo 650 heard about to many problems
    Sony Ericson same as Nokia

    Samsung/LG No way!!

BTW tried to use a friends LG Choc via Verizon>found the unit would not pair with it.
Anyone with a diff style Moto and this BT unit please post

And for number display depends on the number I recv a call from a co- worker and the whole number displayed.

    Thanks

  4.
Well it was bear to get it installed with limited space behind the unit so I'm really looking to pull it out unless its absolutely nessacary.

I can send and recieve full duplex calls via bluetooth from the unit and my other voice cmds appear to be functioning.

I'm really disappointed this feature is not functioning for me. I'm thinking on hooking it up w/o the hack and see if it performs in the same mannor.
I just thought of a problem i had with my install. The BT needs to go into the Z1 1st THEN the IPOD adapter. I tried to go from BT>Sirius Adapt>HU.
I saw the BT working (Dialing) but no sound aft looking dumb for 15 min I thought about what I read in the Install Man and it shows you IE XM/Traf then CD Changers. Since the XM/Traf/TV Tune is like a 2nd brain and Sirius/Ipod adapters are "ADD ONS" they get hooked up last. Try that and see what happens. If you have it that way I'm stumped like Scwabb.

  5.
first question how do I ground a parking brake, Its for the Avic N2. Would a person at Best Buy know how to do this??
If you are saying grounding to do the Bypass, Best B or Circuit C won't do it. Just attach it to the Ground.
  6.
They use a different radio tuner overseas. You will have issues there (if you ever use your radio, some people don't)
Thanks man. Because I might go to Grad school overseas and i was thinking maybe if there are maps that can work on the unit i can take it with me. Im still looking for map dvd's that i can play on my unit.

Not exactly!! On most Pioneer systems you can change the settings of the radio. I bought a pioneer radio from the Post exchange when I was living in Germany and had to set it. They might have found a way to make it a Standard feature. Check with Pioneer on that!!

  7.
This is pretty cool. Has anyone tried the ND-BT1 with a D1/D2?

So with your sons phone you were able to get full functionality? Does the phone book appear on the screen? Does an icon appear for phone? Or is it simple hands free and everything must be done from the phone, ie dialing, answering, etc.
You get Basic handsfree. But you do get to see what number (No Name) of who is calling you. Plus you can redial the last call from the system by hitting a certain Button on the screen. Unfortunately you don't get all the icons and stuff as you would with the Z1/7500/6800.

I too would like some one to hook up the ND-BT1 with the D1/D2. You'll never know.

  9.
The Metra Kit has the dash instructions in it. It is simple really. or you can go here in advance of getting the actual kit and see how to remove it.

  10. If you dwnld the Z1 disc in a D1/D2? Would it give you more features except of course Voice act. But would it help with Bluetooth Problems.
Reason I'm asking is because I have a D1 with the CD-BTB100 attached and it works fine EXCEPT that I am unable to Register the Phone to the System. It gives me a Prompt to TEL REG. and when I go to Function2 I hit the Send Button and nothing happens.I have to manually pair up but that's it. As a temp connection w/o Registering it. I called Pioneer and he said it could be the phone. I have the Razr (Cingular) and I find it hard to beleive that it's the Phone. I say Software. I'll try my son's Nokia Later and see but I feel it would be the same way.

The instructions say that with the D2 that some of he Functions won't work. I don't know what to do , send it back or just be glad that I can talh Handsfree.

Oh and so far only one time did someone say they have a echo. But they were hearing me clear.

  11.
Have you tried drilling new holes in the factory brackets a bit lower to make it fit properly.
Brah You are psychic. I was thinking thr same thing just want to try diff ways before going that way. Plus I ned to get something to make sure I'm even on both sides. Accuracy is not my best skill.

    Thanks

  12. Any one here install a Dbl Din in a Armada? What type of brackets did you use. I tried to use the oem L brackets but it raises the sys to high. I have the Scosche install bezel and know I have to do some trimming if I wnt to use the DBL DIN shroud and attach it to the bezel. I want to use some L brackets and don't know where to find some multi hole l brackets. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

  13. In the Phone mode on the Z1 can you go to settings>audio>SPL and adjust the volume output on it. I don't have Z1 but the D1 and was going thru mine and noticed on certain areas I can adjust the SPL IE, sirius/CD.

This might be the cause of your echo problems. My wife has the Motorolla HF1000 in her volvo and does not have a problem with echo or anything. I fooled around with it a got her output sound to be heard alot clearer on the other end.

Mike positioning is a plus also. Should not be a speaker because that can cause echo probs also. When I get mine I'll be putting it right in front ome behind the steering column.

    I hope this helps!!

  14.
Thats wierd because I have the Bose system in my 2000 Pathfinder, and I think it sounds amazing.

I went down to my shop to inquire about changing out the speakers, and he listened to my speakers and told me that putting new ones in would not make it sound any better.

And when I bought the car the Bose came as an included upgrade for the LE version, so I didn't have a choice whether or not I wanted it if I wanted the LE.
Same here with my 04 Armada and the HU 7600mp. I'm real tight with my dealer and everytime I get an oil change they Say theturn off their little boom box and Play mine on level 5. 5 being a good comfortable but loud clear sound. They always put it on a charger not to kill my Batt. Can't wait till I put the D1 in.
  15.
I'm new to the AVIC-Z1. I just finished installing one in my 06 Civic Hybrid. I have iPod and bluetooth adaptor as well.

Can some please help me understand why (hands free) I can't dial by phone number ? I've tried from AV and map source.. I press voice activation button, then say call, then call phone number... and every time the AVIC returns help menu and make me and it keep repeating ?

I want to be ale to say home or jims cell and just dial. Is this not possible. I tested park and while driving. My unit is mfg'd in Aug and I have the two wires grounded.

My phone is a moto v551, w/ Cingular.
I'll do some research for you and get back to you. On Sun!!

  16.
Not quite understanding what you're talking about as far as mounting holes? If you mean the factory radio brakets, just unbolt them and bolt them onto the sides of the d2. Been a while since I played with an armada so I don't remember exactly what the radio looks like.
No can do. The holes face out towards you as your looking into the Din/radio area. The oem hu was 2bl din. I'll look at the brackets on it and see if they are removeable.

  18.
I have the avic-z1 in my truck, but I have the avic-d2 in my car. Is there anyway to make my avic-d2 bluettoth like the Z1? Is there something that I can buy tod do it?

    THANKS
The same in what way? If I am not mistaken the Z1's BT adapter is much more better because of the Z1 was designed and BT ready. The D1/D2 was not. But with the CD-BTB100 and a GOOD Cell phone you would just have the basic Voice dial and auto answer (Set thru your phone) you won't be able to see the number your calling or calling you. The Z1 gives you these options. I hope this helps you out.

  19. How do you mount the D2 into the Vehicle if the monting holes are part of the chassis and face outward. I have an 04' Nissan Armada and have everything ready except the Bluetooth adapter (be here Monday). Ant suggestions Thanks
