  1. I don't think there'll be any issue with 6ave(thru amazon) rebate. Couple of things, I don't think rebate house will call 6ave to verify and the invoice does not indicate it's bought through amazon. Even if the rebate is denied I don't think i'll have any problem calling and getting the rebate. Technically I'm still buying from authorized retailer 6ave and the term and conditions does not specifically prohibit me buying/paying through amazon. I have done enough rebates and not worried about buying from 6ave/amazon but there is always a risk with all rebates. I'll find out though. :)

Or you can just talk to the sales and tell them to match 6ave's/cartoy's amazon price. I think they'll gladly do it. Especially, cartoys, they send you a unique coupon you can use on their web site to give you the price match discount.

  2. Yay, i got mine installed last weekend and it's quite nice. I was to get f90bt from al-eds and end up getting dnx-8120 for pretty much the same price. Al-eds f90 price + tax = dnx8120. The only issue i sometime face is with nav voice stuttering when there is a screen update going on. It doesn't happen all the time and I'm not sure if it is text-to-speech or something. I'm going to update Garmin firmware and try to see if i can update 2009 maps too to see if it helps. One other gripe i have is with Nav volume which is fixed in the setting. It does not vary/stay with regular volume setting. And I also miss the auto volume with the OEM system since it increases the volume when the road noise increase in the cabin. Now I need to get headrest monitors for the kids and use the dual zone thingy. :)

  3. So I too broke down and bought a dnx8120 (same price as al-ed f90bt + tax) over the weekend after considering my options and cancelled al-ed's f90bt order. I need something that just works for my wife to use in her car since I've already sold the oem nav which does not have touch screen. Also I should be able to upgrade the maps every year from Garmin and not have to wait from Kenwood/Pioneer.

I might replace dnx8120 with f90bt if pioneer come out with a decent fix on nav crashes, bluetooth quality and boot time. Hopefully, Pioneer can dish out fully tested firmware before releasing this time.
