  1. Hey guys, I had been using an iPhone 3G, and I have the Avic D3 unit for 3 years. Got the cd-i200 cable along with it, and I knew that it doesn't charge.

Now that I got my iPhone4 and would like to try video out, which I've never use it with my iPhone 3G before at all. I plugged in the iphone 4 to the cd-i200 cable, as expected charging doesn't work, but also video out doesn't work.

I've researched for a several thread in this board, and I see this product for sell that can solve the charging issue:

    http://www.cablejive.com/products/Car-Charge-Kit.html

Now the question is, after I use this product, care less about the charging part, will I be able to play video with my iPhone 4? Do i need to purchase the "Aux" cable for the front jack of the Avic-D3 to play video instead?

I've also tried the app called "TVOut2", but it doesn't work, only audio plays but no video. "Resupported" doesn't support iOS4, so what should i do now?

  2. I haven't had any problem with this so far. What i'd so if i wanna watch DVD movie, and wanna route. Put in the Navi Disc, set ur destination (set a several if u are going to several places), after the route is planned and it memmed into the memory, then i take the Navi disc out, put the DVD in and it's good to go. As long as before you get on the road, when u set ur destination, put in the navi, after that u can do whatever u want. But if you happen to change destination or cancel a way point, then u have to re-insert the disc again.

I'd say, the money i save is worth the few seconds putting the disc in and out.

  3. i think Bose system are running fiber optic through out ur speaker, and it's much harder job to install the D3 since u have to rewire the whole car, labour cost can be a lot depends where u get it install and how hard it is to do it.

  4. Got my D3 installed yesterday, very nice unit i have to say, just a few issue i am having with the BT, see if anyone can give me some input

I imported the whole phone book into the D3, but in Canada, all incoming call they have +1 at front, so let's say the phone # of John is (555)555-5555, the incoming call will be +15555555555, which in D3 it saids "unknown caller" but it's actually in the phone book list.

Does anyone know a solution to this? Also 1 more question, When driving at night, the Nav is fairly bright, i can go to V.Adjustment and change the Dim and bright option, but the next day morning i have to change the setting again since i obviously need the screen to be brighter in sun light. Is there a way to have it set in Night and day mode so when it's day time it makes it bright, at night time it keeps it dim?
