  1. Nevermind, figured out the problem.

You have to hold all four buttons, then release the reset button first, then release the eject button, then you get the blue screen (without a time limitation). I also got no pop from the speakers, I just guessed on timing.

thank you for this. i did the EXACT same thing, and couldnt figure out what the deal was.

somebody should add this to the OP

  2. I'm using the Pioneer cable. I forgot to mention. Aside from it failing, I leave my iPod in the car, unless I bring it with me to work, and if it stays in the car, the unit doesn't even reconize it unless it unplug/plug it back in. Does anybody else have the problem? I'm using an 80 gig video

    I'm using a 60gb video 5th gen

  3. does anybody have any ideas? mine started doing tihs last night. i didnt drive my car for a week, came back, turned the car on, and the headunit reverted to blue buttons instead of red. i thought nothing of it, until i turned my car off, put gas in it, turned it back on, and the headunit didn't start. it sits at the normal loading screen for 15-20 seconds, does bluetooth flashyness, and then dies completely.

i checked all the power continuity, and everything looks good, but alas, the headunit appears to be toast.

    ideas?
