  1. I had the same problem happen to me with my blackberry bold. TTS also didnt work correctly. See fix below.

Get into testmode, navigate to your phone book and copy it back to your SD card. (there are plenty of posts with detailed instructions on how to do this). Then download SQL Lite (its free) and you can customize your contacts. Be sure to delete any special characters from the contact name or number. Then go back into testmode, navigate back to your phonebook directory and replace with updated version.

Then turn on VR catalog to scan your IPOD and phone book. Once scanned, turn back off. Your TTS for your phone contacts should work.

  2. I recently had my AVIC-F700 stolen from my vehicle. Insurance covered repairing my dash/door and sent me a new X710. I had it professionally installed and it worked fine for 2 weeks. Then, the screen would go blank intermittently after switching back to the menu from the backup camera. The music/ipod would still play, just couldnt see the screen. Today, it happened again and I hit the reset button while I was driving.

After the reset, I could not get any sound from the ipod and key beeps would not work. I made sure the AV1 was set to IPOD and that the key volume was set to yes. Still no luck. If I changed the source to FM, then the key beeps started working. Once I went back to the IPOD, still no sound and no beeps.

I reset again, unplugged IPOD & USB cable, tried different IPOD, and still had no luck. Then I took it back to the installation place and they told me it was setup correctly and the stereo was most likely bad.

i will be calling the place I got the stereo from & Pioneer on Monday to see what the next steps are. What a pain in the A%#.

Has anyone experienced this? Any recommendations are are appreciated. Thx

  3. After updating the 2.0 error and folowing the instructions perfectly, I went to the next step and got this error "Bluetooth software is not found. Please put it on SD/USB. Any ideas? I reformatted the SD card and loaded the update on it again, but no joy.

Same thing here, anyone else get this?

I had to create a folder on the top level of my SD card called "Bluetooth Update" and transfered the three files from the bluetooth update v3.3 folder into the "Bluetooth update" folder. I got the same error when I copied the bluetooth update v3.3 folder to my SD card. Once I transferred only the three files into the new folder, it worked like a charm.

  4. I only hear the phone ring when I dial from my phone. If I dial out through the F-series or call from the contact list, I do not hear any ringing.

    I have a blackberry 8800 phone.

I have already turned my bluetooth off. It frustrated me more than I enjoyed it. Too many bugs/issues.

  5.

I'm pretty sure I had the same problem with my verizon blackberry 8830. It would connect then before you could do anything it would disconnect. After three days of experimenting this is finally what I did to fix it. Go to your bluetooth options for the avic on your phone. Change the transfer address book option from all entries to chosen categories only. Add both business and personal. Assign everyone in your address book a category. It does not matter if you choose business or personal. Do note add any strange items you have in your blackberry address book like a group for work. For instance I had one called engineering. My best guess is this type of complex stuff screws the avic up. Good luck.

Thank you. This has improved my blackberry reconnection issues (at least it has the couple times I have tested).

    Great information to know.

  6. Is anyone experiencing issues with their phones reconnecting via bluetooth. I am having a lot of problems with my phone reconnecting. Sometimes it will connect after 5 min, other times 10 min, and sometimes not at all.

I have also experienced the stereo locking up after a call and not hanging up on the screen. The phone has hung up, but the stereo is still showing the call and is not playing music.. I also have issues if I am on the call on my phone and the bluetooth activates. I cannot hear anything, but stay connected.

Also, has anyone called from the contact list. Are you hearing the ringing? It is not ringing for me if I call from the contact list or by hitting "call home" button. If I dial from my phone, the bluetooth picks up and rings normal.

Sound quality has been good for me since the firmware update.

  8. I am now experiencing this problem and I have installed the FW.

It was mentioned above to "Delete the phone from the F700, and the F700 from your phone and repair them". How do you repair them?

Hahaha he means RE "pair" the device.

Haha, that is pretty funny. I totally missed that one.

Yes, I have deleted the devices and re-pair'ed them and am still having issues (more than before). This sucks!

  10. 1. Unit does not stay on same FM radio station when turning off/on vehicle. Always defaults to a different radio station, which in my case is static.

    2. Blue tooth voice quality is good.. However the reconnect times vary. Sometimes it reconnects to my phone in 3 min, other times in 15 min, other times it wont connect. I can force the connection from my phone and it works.

    3. Even with no route set, boxes for next turn (street name at top of screen and direction of turn at top left) are still there.

    4. Cannot tell which number is going to be called when touching a contact.

    5. 2D Map mode is always North

    6. GPS instructions - to many next turn reminders. The unit even tells me three times to go straight through a street light. Why remind you if you are not turning.

    7. Clock on map screen should have a background--it's nearly impossible to read when objects on the map are behind it

    8. Allow us to turn off the beeps for every button push. I know if you turn the volume all the way down, it will go away along with the rest of the sound, but there needs to be a on/off option.

    9. I am going to say it, even though it wont matter. Shorten the boot up time.

There are still a lot of "Little Detail" things that are lingering, which frustrates you especially when paying a lot of $$$. Hopefully some of these common issues can be resolved with another firmware.

  11. Well, this is still a problem even after installing the patch. It kinda sucks, but isnt a big deal. I will just never turn off the truck with the radio source on, otherwise I will have to listen to 60 sec of static before I can change it..

It is these little details that bug you.. However

  12. I don't think the issue is that his presets are getting wiped out with each cycle of the ignition, but rather that the system starts on a different station than the one he was listening too when he turned it off.

I'll try mine tomorrow to see if I encounter the same problem.

Yes, that is correct. My presets do not get wipped out. Just at start up, it is always on a different station

  13. If I have my unit on FM stereo when I turn it off, it comes back on to a different station, which happens to be static. I have tried to set the default to one of my preset stations, but have had no luck doing it or finding it in the manual. You would think it would save the last station it was on before turning it off.

    Has anyone else experienced this?

It is really enoying listening to static at startup, and sometimes you have to wait for the boot up before you can change.

Thank god I use my IPOD most of the time.
