  1. I share your sentiments. I'm going to enjoy what I have for now and still enjoy the fact that have a great HU that will probably still be worth a significant amount of money in 2 years when MSN runs out. Like I said before, there will still be plenty of people that are outside of the MSN Direct areas that will be looking for a good used Z110. And that's in the event Pioneer doesn't come up with anything for this unit, which I personally, doubt. As far as their responses however, I'm right there with ya... It's little long, but here was my exchange with them (read from the bottom up). I
  2. I hope you weren't mistaking Panasonic for Pioneer... If you meant Pioneer... The Z110BT DOES have traffic through MSN Direct and WILL have traffic through MSN Direct for the next 2+ years, during which time I personally am quite confident, they will come up with a viable replacement option for live traffic.
  3. BTW, I have 8 left until the 20th. After that what I have left is going back to Best Buy and then probably in their trash can. If you want any, let me know ASAP.
  4. You can still call them and activate the lifetime subscription cards. I called today to confirm. At least the person I spoke to said you could.
  5. Mine worked this morning for gas prices and traffic.
  6. Regardless, I don't believe they are high and dry here. Just can't imagine they are just scratching their heads on the omission of one of the main features of their flagship HU.
  7. No disagreement here... I have a long list of people I'd like to see fired at Microsoft. I don't know their names, but I know some products they helped develop. I'm sure we'll all be taken care of. Pioneer isn't going to sit back and let it's flagship HU just turn into a joke. And they can't afford for people to have a major reason NOT to buy it.
  8. Well said sir! I vote for best first post ever.
  9. Great. Glad to hear there are some more left out there, cuz I cannot find any more in the Denver Metro Area... nearly all of CO for that matter. BTW, I have 6 left for anyone that can't get one locally. Cheers, JR
  10. I do. got 6 left right now with about 4 people that said they are going to be sending money, so 4 for sure. If you want one, you know the drill. Cheers, JR
  11. Sweeeeeeeet! Another chink out of Miscrosoft's armor. I love it. Shall we start a betting pool to guess what country their customer service is in? No Googling! My guess is the Phillipines. Whats hilarious is I spoke to probably 3-4 supervisors in the past week... they were all named Thomas... ya, right. No offense here, but I talked to one guy that could HARDLY speak English... named Peter. I just don't think his real name was Peter!
  12. No confusion here. I was told that I had to cancel my service to get a full refund on my lifetime card or wait until 2012 and get a pro-rated refund on balance owed (which they could not tell me what that would be). I was not offered a continued service with a canceled subscription. Did you call again? Cuz every one of us others has gotten that deal, but sometimes it takes call them a couple times and talking to someone that knows what they are doing. Their customer service deptartment is atrocious. I don't know where it is, but it's not in the US, that's for sure. If you want what
  13. no problem everyone. like i said before... any time I can be a part of stickin' it to Microsoft... I'm in. However, if you all wish, beer credits can be sent to justin.retzlaf@gmail.com!
  14. That's great to hear they are actually working on... something. Mine works great too... except I have to check it before I leave the house, because the Shelby is stuck in the garage until our fresh 3 FEET of snow melts... ugh. Then again, traffic is easy to determine right now... it's TERRIBLE EVERYWHERE!
  15. Wow, well let me say this. It's disappointing, yes. Did I buy this unit STRICTLY for the use of the traffic function, no. However, I am confident based on Pioneer and MSN's comments thus far that something else is in the works. And in less than 2 years, I'm sure we will know what that is. There are plenty of people that will buy this head unit that live in areas where MSN Direct was not even available or a benefit. So in 2 years of something bigger and badder is available, I'm sure we won't have any trouble getting a decent price out of our Z's... and that's not even considering that it
  16. Thats been pretty well established so far... However with the refund they are offering you can get the last 2+ years of service for FREE. There has been a "couple" posts about this.
  17. Excellent! I do a little "Boo-Yah" in my head everytime I see someone "sticking it" to Microsoft.
  18. While they may have told you that, they've told the rest of us that we will get the refund and service thru 1/1/12. And to your other point, MSN is not "going out of business". While ending the program may not be nice to hear, it is a business decision and not an unethical one at that. Saying they are refunding you an exact amount and then simply not doing so would definitely be an unethical decision, which I would believe they would not do. They may make business decisions that we don't like, but I highly doubt they are going to outright lie to us and then not send the money. Besides,
  19. Update: 11 cards left and I do NOT have access to any more.

  22. From MSN Direct's website. Sounds like maybe they have something in the works.
  23. Sweeeeeeeeeet! After the debacle this has turned out to be, that is GREAT to hear! Cheers, JR
  24. So I just wanted to clearly point this out. MSN Direct users have probably seen the numerous posts about the discontinued availability and now shortening of the "lifetime" subscriptions. For the record, the MSN Direct Lifetime Subscription is now only guaranteed to be good through January 1, 2012. Well today both myself and Admin garrettoomey called MSN Direct and received very nearly FULL refunds AND still got to keep service until the new supposed end date of January 1, 2012. That's right, if you have a lifetime subscription, you can call, cancel NOW, get your prorated refund AND STILL get s
