  1. did you try it yet. i still haven't got it fixed. Also there is no sound when i hook the ipod up....but the ipod works on the screen. And i can't hear the nav talking...it just cuts out music

ON the AV Source screen do you have AV1 set to iPod? If you reset the unit that switches back and you lose the audio signal but not the screen images.

I have a very similar problem with BT and Nav volman tho, I have such low volume on the BT as to make the phone unusable and the nav directions are inaudible. The overall volume on the unit is low as well.

I attributed this to the Bose speakers and amps in my car but I too am looking for a solution.

Did you hook the speakers up to the RCA jacks or the speaker wire coming out of the unit? I'm wondering if that may be the issue in my case. One set goes to speakers and one set is for a separate pre amp. The Bose system incorporates amps into the speakers and I went with the RCA jacks. Now I'm not so sure that was the right thing to do..

The other possibility I'm investigating is the settings on the Onstar/Bose module I needed to hook the unit to my GM wiring harness, but the volume of the Onstar connection is fine.

I'm calling Pioneer this morning to try and get a human on the phone and see if they can direct me.

  2. Installed the F700 this last weekend. Had a few issues including the fact that the PRESWIPS is a piece of junk. BUT the larger issue is the volume for phone call and the system itself. It's almost inaudible.

Everything else works - I get left and right channels, front and rear. It ain't loud but its the stock Bose speaker set-up in an 08 Corvette. Onstar is clear as a bell. The only thing that is wimpy is the BT phone connection and the system sound. To the point that I didn't realize the Nav was even giving directions.

I've set master volume and everything I can find to full gain. Boosted EQ.

Any other ideas? I've been through the search and don't find anything on nav volume or system volume.

  3. I searched and couldn't turn anything up.

I have an 08 Corvette with XM stock. The tuner is mounted on the inside of the left rear quarterpanel. I'd LOVE to keep this there as it's already wired with the antenna in a good spot. Plus, it would save me from having to spend yet another $100 on the tuner.

Two questions - can the stock tuner be utilized with the F700?

If not, can the GM antenna be plugged into the Pioneer XM unit?

Thanks for any light that can be shed.

  4. What module would I need to keep the steering wheel controls and the retained accessory power for an 08 Corvette with Onstar and Bose?

The Module used on all 2007 to present Gm's

The gmlanb is what is out

Peripheral has a new GMAHL1 Wich retains the RAP and also gives you VSS and P brake/reverse all at the factory HU wire side.

heres the link to the details on the unit from there site

Its a slick piece and i can say does solve alot of the problems some users are having on the GM vehicles.

Note that it does retain your factory XM but only on the rear Audio jacks,so keep that in mind as well.... snip

Thanks for the lead. In looking at the instructions PDF, it doesn't look as thought the piece will work for my Corvette. It certainly doesn't have rear seat audio jacks.

I seem to recall the bus on the Vette is an older, almost orphan system. They didn't even offer a Bluetooth option until 09. It would be great if I could use the stock XM receiver in the car.

  5. If you really need service from Pioneer. Just use excel to create a decent looking invoice stating the authorized dealer's name, address, phone, etc. and along with its store logo to make it look legit.

Chances are the guy receiving your repair unit will just glance over the invoice and accept the repair. I highly doubt they will check the invoice for authenticity.

I've done this several times with other companies before. Is it unethical? Not really, I paid the item and supported the company already.

Not really unethical? You should educate yourself on the legal definition of "fraud."

It's more than unethical, it's illegal.

  6. I'm guessing that iPod video is all you can get, right? There's no way to actually see and use the iPhone apps through the nav screen right?

I couldn't use the iPhone Google maps as a Nav or see my email on the screen?
