  1. In despite of all great hacks/mods applied to my F900BT, I am still missing the speed dependent volume control which I had on my previous radio. I believe the HU has all ingredients available (current speed, current volume, ability to change volume) to support this feature.

Is there anyone (Stephanie....?) who has an idea on how to implement this? Is it do-able?

I really hope there is a way to implement it, as the volume annoyes me everytime entering or leaving the highways.

Anymore persons looking for this feature?

  2. Has anyone tried already to run the Avic software on a pc. I'm planning to install Microsoft virtual PC to give this a try. I used the same application to run Vista under XP.

I think there must be a way of running the Win CE stuff directly on a pc. That will save a loooooot of time spend in the car, waiting for your booting Pioneer HU.

What are your thoughts? Experiences? Recommended approaches?

    Thanks a lot!!

*Edit*: I found that Microsoft already has a Win CE 5.0 emulator available for download. Using this software it should be possible to install and run WinCE from a USB stick...

  3. Sorry to confuse you all, but I have to admit that I have the same problem, however yesterday I fiddled around and the blue boxes weren't there. Quite exiting for me, so I posted too early...

During initialization of the screen the boxes are positioned on the screen and disappear when the route is cancelled. I tried another flag:

    visiblemodel="navigation.direction_id.valid"

    Didn't work either :(

So we have to find the initialization scripts and comment out the blue-box lines. Will look into that today and let you know once I find a solution that works right away ;-)

  4. (First post on this forum, so I hope its posted in the right thread...)

I personally like the blue boxes, so I've modified the navigatemap_800_480.ui in such away that the blue boxes only appear when navigating. The streetnames are easier to read then.

For this solution you don't have to replace the bmps, only some code needs to be added:

Find this piece of code in the navigatemap_800_480.ui file:

    ;road name picture

    And replace with

     ;road name picture

A bit lower in the file, replace this (credits to Stephanie):

    by this:

As you see, the trick is in the visiblemodel="navigation.distance_to_manuver.valid".

This enables/disables objects on the screen while navigating.

Works perfectly wel on my F900BT!

For my contacts I also used the SQLight browser tool, but exported the database to Excel. Modified whatever I wanted (including the sort order of the contacts) and imported back into the db file.

Great forum, by the way! Cheers
