I installed your latest version and have problems when I search around gps or poi. For some reason it never searches to my local area but rather, an area that is 300 miles away from me? Can you tell me what might have gone wrong here? Thanks

I think you might be right because I did go over a few bridges on my way to work. However, the GPS showed I still had signal when I went over them, maybe there is lag in gps

I am using navteq 2009.1 maps for california and the rest are all teleatlas. Is this a problem? The maps seems to be working fine. Thanks.

Hi guys, I just updated my 500bt US version and dont have any voice, ie. samantha TTS. I double checked to make sure i had the 749UC in sys.tx and other files and they all seem to be there.

Fantastic Mod Diaftia, I got it to work on my avicf500bt, I really like the branded POI icons. I just drove with it this morning and the trip computer seemed to be working just fine for me. However, I'll mess with it some more when I go back home.

I do have a bug to report: While I was driving down the freeway, in 2D north up, my map would sometimes change to 2D and freeze. Only the arrow (car) would move. I noticed this happened 3 times in my 45 minute drive to work. I usually pressed the map button to reset and it didnt appear to be losing any signal. Anybody have an idea whats going on or has this problem already been addressed? I installed it last night so I believe I have the most current version. Thanks.

However, I am having a hard time downloading the 1st torrent file in your reponse above. I have utorrent installed but the file is not downloading. Looks like the p2p is down and I just heard today the pirate bay will be closing. Anybody have any idea what is going on? Maybe someone can email me the file. I will keep trying. Thanks.

Can someone just clarify if the 3.0 update is working on the avicf500bt? From the posts it sounds like it is partly working. I just read the thread and read it again and its still not clear.

Good news and bad news

Good news: I got it to work on my palm pre. Just turned the bluetooth on my pre. The Pre searched for devices and found "FIPO" on phone and instantly connected. I didnt have to punch any pin number. After connection established I went into AV icon on avicf500bt and it gave me the option to turm on AV at bottom. I touched it and the car played music from pandora.

Bad news: As superjet stated earlier, streaming already compressed music gave crappy quality. How do I know? I connected the 3.5mm jack to Pre and the music was clearer and louder than bluetooth streaming, it was overwhelmingly obvious.

Final Verdict: Will most likely return the sprint bluetooth adapter. The audio difference using a cable over streaming bluetooth was significantly better. I am just going to add another 3.5mm jack to my car since I have two preouts. I hope this is helpful to everyone.

I just called sprint and they said they only carry them online. just placed my order.

I wonder if this will work on my palm pre?

It has A2DP capabilities. I currently have an Avic-F500bt. Going to my local sprint store to see if I can purchase one, can beat $10.

The Leetlauncher on my F-500 is working fine - almost. The Garmin XT crashes now and then. Has anybody expirenced that and know how to fix it?

Ok nevermind I figured it out. Like an idiot I pasted the map file ".dbl" into the building folder on my unit. Wow!!

Okay this is very frustrating. I just got done updating my Avic F500bt with the 2.0 firmware and was trying to update my california maps, poi, and buildings.

I DL the license file, Asbis_PNA_EEU..... and the Ezrider file and uploaded them to my unit with the new 2008.4 maps and it does not show them.

Do I also transfer the sys.tx file as well? It seems when I use the sys.tx file the system crashes.

I have kept the original licenses along with the Asbis lic and still doesnt work. Do I need another license? This is annoying.

Maybe the license doesnt work for California maps, can anyone confirm. Thanks.

I grounded it to a bolt. Any metal bolt/screw will work. Or hook it up to a wire in your car that is grounded.

Yes, I bypassed my 500bt. You have to do the software mod found in the bypass thread. Then you have to ground the parking brake wire. Check out the bypass thread, it tells you how to do it there.

I did the bypass on my 500bt unit. Just do the software mod and ground your parking brake wire, it will work!

 

I though I read in that topic that the software bypass did not work on the F500 unit... maybe I'm wrong.

Yeah, I was the one who "thought" it didnt work but apparently it does. I was not properly grounding the wire. It definately works, I can watch music videos now.
