Here's a small tutorial explaining how I did to make Igo8 run with any country map you want.

0. Download and install Leet's launcher from this topic - http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18522

1. Download the igo8 Patched file here - http://rapidshare.com/files/152102819/iGo8.zip.html

2. Put yout unit in testmode

3. Enter the Storage Card

4. Enter the Igo8 directory

5. Copy the contents of the downloaded file to that directory - remember to keep the directory structure.

6. Copy the map to the igo8/content/map directory

7. Copy the 3dl to the igo8/content/building

8. Copy the POI file to the igo8/content/poi

9. Copy the speedcam.txt file to the igo8/content/speedcam

10. Reboot and enjoy your Igo8

If you want to use Leet's Launcher to run igo and avic software together follow leet's tutorial. I don't se a reason for update this topic no more.

Any ideia how to change the system setting so I can change the main menu and open a different application from the main menu of the unit?

Simple as that....just go into testmode and run the patched application from the SD Card, or copy it to the Flash and run from there.

You need to get a 800x600 skin, and change the GPs settings in sys.txt to port = 7 and baudrate = 9600.

Smooth.........but still won't be able to run the new GPS software with the pioneer software.

Some questions that could help....

Does Anyone Know if its possible to change the main menu options to include another application?!!?!?

I changed the setting of the original IGO8 so it won't access the GPS (changed the port to 99) soh I'm planning in creating a new icon in the main menu for IGO2006.

Another way to do it is to change the application that runs when I click in the Destination, but I was unable to find it....gonna do some more research next week..

OK...So I managed to run Igo 2006 plus directly from the SD Card with the Brazilian Maps. It runs smooth the only thing that doesn't works is the sound, so I got back to win CE interface e tried to play any sound from the Win (Ex. Exclamation Sound), for my surprise it didn't play...Is there any change that I need to do in Win CE so it can output to my speakers?

2) I renamed the Igo PNA.EXE to EZRIDER.EXE so the unit can find it and load it when necessary, the fun about this is that it loads when the unit is in startup process, I was able to use ipod, FM, but the messagem os startup in progress was never dismissed. After a few minutes the unit resets itslef..Is ther any way to load IGO in the background?? looks like that this is what it does with the original software.

Anyone have figured this out??? I just installed my unit yesterday and I'm crazy about using the GPS.

Is it possible to use old IGO maps in this version? because I have old IGO maps but not sure if they gonna work.

Nobody has ever tried to to this!?!?!!??!?!? Now I'm a little bit scared in doing this and bricking my unit.....

A spoke with Pioneer in Brazil and they are not planning on bringing this GPS because of the brazilian laws.....

Do you know what is the GPS software in the f90BT??? because is runs windows ce and maybe there a workaround like installing a different gps software or anything....

I already did that in some TOMTOM models but never in a Windows CE envroiment. Any tips in how to go in windows mode? If I overwrite the Maps from the US with the Brazil ones the unit will recognize the maps o I need to do something else?

The POI's ani't a problem because a have a huge list in CSV that I can convert it to any format.

IGo8 is the software that pioneer is using?

I live in Brazil and I want to change the maps to my country. Does anyone already did or know how to do it? What kind of maps this unit uses?
