can i use the old maps i was using with 2.0? the only reason i want this hack is becuase i live in germany but have an american unit. help a brother out!

2.0 was Igo 8.0. 3.x is Igo 8.3. So you should get 8.3 maps. Why use the old ones? Just get the germany.fbl for 8.3 and be done with it.

Is it possible that I have a map to 2008 (what I think never use!) and a other Country from 2009in my APL maps folder? It`s running?

When I the new EZRider download from rapidshare I have only 8 KB.

You can mix and match maps any way you like. Just check the info screen on the unit to see what you have installed.

Maps are in the APL2 folder, however, not in APL.

Have here done the follow to get ezrider 3.0 working on 2.07 firmware

 

* Remove APL2 map and copy the EU map(APL2 map) that is on this site

* Replace the ezrider from that one with hacked one.

* Copy new maps from 2009

 

After this i startup the unit, all is working accept one problem.

 

* When check tmc in navigation setting this one is not working

 

Had the same problem when i used the copy of EU version 3.003, after this 2 things did not work(with 6_Mods_Combined_Trip_Computer hack)

 

* When check tmc in navigation setting this one is not working

* Trip computer did not work when driving no info on speed was given

 

So any one have the same problem here?

Did u flash the winceimg of 3.xxxx with uBoot before using 3.x APL2?

Couse I can well imagine that you ask for troubles when using 3.0 Ezrider (Igo 8.3) on basically a 2.xxxx system.

Just flash the correct winceimg and replace the APL and APL2 folders before fiddling around with this hack here.

Ppl should realize that ths is NO shortcut to just get Igo 8.3 running on an 2.xxx system.

Also dont use Mods/alternate data.zips before testing basic function. Problems could come from there too.

What instructions do you want? That is all there is to it. Copy over the ezrider, the license file and some maps you want to use. Thats it.

Of course you have to update your whole system to 3.xxxx before doing that. But that is explained again and again in various threads here.

I flashed the firmware from the official F910 update from the Pioneer Website. Used that APL folder too.

Later got the APL2 folder from the forum here and the ezrider from this thread.

Basically I would recommend using the Wince image from the PLT folder of THAT update you use the APL folder from. That way the components match.

I asume you used the factory menu (uBoot) to flash the wince.img?

Or you just take a look in the Hacks/Mods subforum. Thats what its there for, after all.

And I mean read it. trying that stuff and not knowing what you are doing can produce a brick real fast.

I have a EW unit and using it with european maps. Installed the hacked EZRider with global license (together with the Pioneer licenses) and the TA 2009.02 maps. So far everything working great.

I also tried the Navteq 2009Q1 maps. Working great too.

(switched back to Teleatlas though...)

Right now Im totally happy with my unit. If it would have worked that nicely from day 1 I would sing praises for Pioneer. (But being it the way it was Im just not so pissed at Pioneer anymore)

Question: Did anybody find newer EU maps than 2009.02.1 for Teleatlas and Q3 2008 for Navteq?

If you are using it in EU why not use the APL2 folder of an EU unit?

With a US image you wont get EU maps working.

Because preproduction and testing takes time. They cant just stick the stuff on their website and be done with it.

Why the maps are from last year however, I do not know.

Right now its a tough choice: Use 8.3 with older maps or stay on 8.0 with newer maps.

8.3 doesnt offer THAT much more in terms of features and functionality

The way I see it, this is the only way to keep the maps up to date. Pioneers updates do lag behind quite a bit.

There is NO V3.0 Update for EU AVICS there. There never has been!

It was just the workaround that is discussed in another thread. (old IGO 8.0 with new APL folder).

I download the image.

i put winCE image in a SD card.

I update WinCE

I load testmode v2.3

I unmont/format flash disc

I copy ALL files to flash disc.

i restart unit pressing reboot button.

 

The sistem freeze at starts (pioneer image and nothing)

Do you have the same directory structure on the Avic (My Disk) drive than before? An APL Folder and an APL2 folder?

i have uploaded that image for people who broke there decks without a working backup and lost there 2008 maps.

 

i'm also very impressed how stupid some people are and in need of some reading specs! the name of the file clears it all isn't it?

Its only 400MB. So I doubt it very much that everything is there. Without maps it isnt much use.

 

Now the size is larger, 1.44 Gb Thanks are also on my side who has uploaded. I am downloading to see what it contains.

There are 2 Files there that contain the US X910 images and are 1.6GB.

And there is one file there that is 400MB that contains the EU Files without maps. And that wont do much good. You can get the EU files without maps by just downloading the x910 update from Pioneer.eu

Is IGo 8.3 into it The maps are no problem, we can find them on this forum or somewhere else.

As long as the EZrider is not hacked you have to use the original pioneer maps for 8.3.. so this would be a problem.

You might be able to use the US version of the x910BT 3.0 install on your AVIC unit. Please keep in mind that they are just Window CE based PC's. Running the Pioneer software on it. Its just like running a software on your home PC. You also would have to find a copy of iGo8.3 for the Europe maps updates. Please make a back-up copy for your unit before doing anything to your unit.

Well.. the question is who in Europe will want to drive around with maps of the US?

(Not to mention the missing langugage files)

i first what to do the wince update but it wont working wen i put my f900 on than pres map.eject menu and reset (small pen) then you must here e piep on speakers but i dont what do i wrong?.

I didnt hear anything either.

The important part is you should see a blue screen that say "press reset". Here you enter the pass-combination. (you see a * for each button you press)

If you do it correctly you get into the service menu and there you can flash the winCE image.

Depends on the patch. The ones Ive seen so far just enabled Igo to accept other licenses. So you did have to provide one.
