Hey guys. I just installed my F700BT and I have two questions I'm trying to get answered. 1) I was looking through all of the settings and I didn't see any option for control of the screen dimmer with the lights. It's working and the screen dims when I turn the lights on, but I don't see anywhere to set HOW DIM I want it to go, or to NOT DIM if I don't want it to. I believe the D3 had these options, just don't know if the 700 does or not. 2) My radio picks up my iPhone and plays audio/video just as it should, but when I'm playing video, every now again, about every 30 seconds or so, I'

Hey guys. This is a very basic question, and I'm sure if I searched it I would find something. I just can't think of search terms to find this particular answer. I have not seen a step by step tutorial of how to mod the F series, so my question is this. The Data.zip file that we edit to make the changes, am I correct in assuming, that we need to "re zip" the zip file and replace the old one? Also, the "data" folder that shows after you unzip data.zip, do we need to take that folder out of the sub folder so it's not on the sd card when finished? Don't really know how to ask this whi

I don't know tooooo much about cars. But any time I hear a click when I try to start the car it means my battery is dead. I jump it, it turns over and the alternator starts charging the battery. I don't know what the click is while the car is on and radio playing, but if it clicks when I start, it means my battery died. May be worth checking into. Taking the radio out shouldn't cause your car to not run. I sold my D3 and have been driving around with no radio for 4 days now. My 700BT should be here Thursday!!! Hope this helps!

Hey guys. I'm trying to find videos of some of the F-Series. Kinda like the 20 minute video here of the F90. I look on youtube and can only find PioneerMobile videos that are like commercials. I'm trying to find videos of people using the eq and going through all the settings and making phone calls and all that good stuff!

When creating this custom background, do we need to edit every single file in the skin folder or just the main image? I would think we would have to do them all for when the screen changes...but I'm a newb to modding the AVIC so I ask about everything!

hey guys. Getting my F700 on Thursday and I had a quick question. If anyone is familiar with the single din pioneer 7000 unit, it appears to have the same click wheel as the 700. On the single din unit, while navigating the ipod, you can just turn the wheel and it will scroll through all songs on the playlist. The faster you turn it, the faster it scrolls. A lot of Alpine units are like this as well. On my D3, when navigating songs it would show you 5 songs at a time and you had to use the "soft" down arrow one page at a time. Can anyone tell me if this unit works like the D3 or like the singl

Thanks Kev. I had a D3 installed in my Scion xA before I order my F700BT. The factory antenna fit the D3 so is it safe to assume it will fit the F700 as well? Thanks for clearing up the antenna splitter for me. I will need that when I add the HD tuner!

My F700BT should be here Wednesday and I am going to do the isntall myself. I have been reading on the forums quite a bit and I see a number of post referring to an antenna adapter. Is this for the FM radio or is it an adapter if I want HD Radio? If it is for the standard FM radio, what kind of adapter would I need and why would I need one? Thanks, Scott

if i ordered my unit from a seller in florida i should be getting the american unit right? i mean i wouldn't think they would sell a radio in america with european maps on it! lol

Hey Guys. I just order my F700BT from an online store and it should be here on Wednesday or Thursday. CAN'T WAIT! First of all just want to thank everyone who participates in this site! my question that I have for you guys is...is there a difference between the European Units and American units? When looking on eBay and different websites, I onlt saw 1 site that referred to the radio as the American version. Is there a chance that I may have purchased a European unit somehow? Question sounds very stupid I know, but any help is appreciated! Scott

Hey guys. Even if you don't know what the problem is, can anyone recommend any basic troubleshooting that may fix this? Again, I installed the unit, and the charge function WAS working. The next day, it will not charge. It is a 5th gen iPod Video and the charge feature IS on. Please help anyone!! Thanks.

Ok. The last person said he downloaded the .zip file and when unzipping it, it was 7GB. I downloaded the .iso and burned just like you said, but I can see that it didn't fill the entire DL. Was I supposed to download the .zip and uncompress? I am doing that right now.

I have the file and I am working on getting my ftp up for you guys too. I burned the file twice now using toast titanium on my mac, and when I put it in the D3, it just says "Please insert the appropriate disc" Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to reset the D3 first or something? It burned successfully and verified the burn successfully also. Any help is appreciated!

Hey guys, got my D3 installed 2 days ago. When I first installed it, it was charging my 5th gen iPod fine. The on/off feature was working as well. All of a sudden it is not charging my iPod anymore. The on/off still seems to be functional it just doesn't charge anymore. Any help is greatly appreciated!! Scott

At this point, kinda think the "best method" is irrelevant. Anyway we can get it is great. Definitely watching this thread! P.S. - Newsgroups are the best!
