  1. What kind of card? Is it formatted as FAT16/FAT32? Does it contain music files in folders?

    Its a Scandisc 512 MB,pretty standard huh?

As far as formatting I have no clue what youre talking about.I dont even know how to check that.As far as content goes,it has pictures. Can I use it to view pics or is it music only?

  2. I did a search and didnt find the answer.Im trying to use the SD slot in my 700bt and I cant figure out how to turn it on.The manual talks about using it but I didnt see anything about making it active.Any help??

Umm... you strick an SD card with some music in it, and it works...

Thats what I thought.I put the card in and the SD card icon stays gray.

  3. DB,

A hi/low converter is used to convert speaker level outputs so you can connect a sub amp in a conventional stereo (Yours probably has an amp built into it). You should have the sub hooked up to the RCA output on the D3 (The wires with the RCA jacks on them that are hanging off your wire harness in the back of the D3) and you are going to need some kind of amp to power the sub. So far I havent heard you mention an amp. I assumed you had an amp on it. The D3 doesn't have an amp in it for the sub. Any "output" you're going to get is going to come from your amp. I don't see how this can be an issue with your HU. Maybe you thought the D3 was going to "power" the sub? I'm just a little confused LOL

Yeah Im using RCA's for both the HU and the Hi/Low convertor.I tapped into my rear speakers for the convertor and I hooked up to the sub preout on the D3.Im running a mono amp for the sub.Im using a Kicker 750.1.

  4. LOL!! Yes I read the manual believe it or not.I tried everything,I just cant get any output.Im only running 1 sub. When its hooked up to the HI/Low convertor its fine,so its definately in the HU.Maybe there is something wrong with the HU? Im assuming the preouts are 2 volt, correct? My daughter has 2 volt preouts on her stereo.Shes running 2 Infinity 10's and a 600 watt MTX amp and it sounds pretty damn good. This is my old stuff and its about 4 years old and it sounds way better than mine.I dont know what else to do???

  5. Before I put this D3 in my car I had a hi/low convertor hooked into my back speakers for my sub amp. Now, with the D3 I want to run it from the HU,but when I hook it up there is little to no output from the sub.I read the manual and I did a search here and It seems like everything is hooked up right.Im not sure what else to try,any ideas??

  6. I did all the reading I could and I cant get any images to load in my D3.It keeps saying"There are no images" or "Please make a folder for JPEGS" or something like this,I cant remeber exactly.

I followed all the steps outlined in the sticky and nothing.I tried it on a PC with XP and one with Vista.Could I be downloading them from here wrong?I right click on the image and save in the desktop folder I named PICTURES.Is this right? Then I put them in Nero 9.0,burn them and it says "Burn complete". Can someone PLEASE help me with this??

    Thanks

  7. I have an '05 Nissan 350Z that had a bose system in it.

The Bose speakers sound "OK" and there's no special wiring I had to do. I do plan on replacing them at some point, but for the short term they worked fine.

I have 7 speakers in the car. 2 front, 2 rear, 2 little tweeters, and a sub. Set the rear speakers to "full" if you set it to "sub" (even though theres a sub back there) it makes the rear speakers sound like crap. The sub could be wired seperately if you want go through all the hassle. (Not sure if a Maxima has a sub in the back or not)

You'll probably like the way it sounds for about a month or so then you'll start to think you need new ones.

    Thanks for the help.

Its not really about sound quality though.I do plan on replacing all the speakers(I actually have 8 speakers) and amping them, but for financial reasons that will have to wait.Im concerned about blowing up the D3 due to a low impedence.Do you have any knowledge of this??

  8. Ive been doing alot of reading here and decided to pick up a D3.Although I do have a couple of questions.

    1. Do I have to use the XM unit with the Nav Taffic or can I use the regular one?

    2. I have a Nisan Maxima with the Bose system. Will I have any problems running this HU with these speakers? Ive heard there might be an impedence issue.

    Thanks
