  1. Yeah I have noticed this too. I think there is a movecursortoselecteditem missing in there someplace. Its never worked right. I will add it to the list.

    That number reflects what the speedcam setting is. Not what the street speed is. So if the street speed is 55 and the speedcam data says its 65 it will show 65. Edit the speedcam and it will show correctly.

    Depends on what setting you have for speed warning I think. You can edit the volume and type of setting per camera type.

    Strange thing is, that you can edit and delete Speedcam data which you have added yourself (so not from the mod or imported with a file)

  2. Sorry, I know we had that before:

    As far as trip computer is concerned I understand, that the mod delays loading of the TC until the System is fully booted and has a sattelite fix. This is simply done by setting a time delay after that it loads TC.

    So 1 Question: How can I extend this delay?

    And one observation which may help the coders amongst us to find the bug which prevents TC from working: When I install a new mod and clear the save files TC ALWAYS works on the first bootup. Maybe there is one file amongst trhe save files which effects TC.

  3. Hi Alex,

    have upgraded to your latest version now and it works just great. Thanks a lot for that. Obviously as we are never satisfied there is one thing to mention:

    Trip computer works 1 out of 10 times (if that often)

    I did not follow the tc discussions that closely, but maybe it would make sense to do a poll and differenciate between regions. I have the feeling it works better with US units

  4. Was this right when you installed or after you might have changed something with mapchanger? Only asking because its odd due to the fact that I do not edit the map directory at all. Any info on what you found would be great so I can try and repair it. Seems like an odd issue.

    Can't tell anymore, as I was adding new maps at the same time. I think I just had Map_ta and Map_nt at the beginning, got the error and then added Map again and it worked.

    I don't think it's your mod, but us users trying to be too clever

  5. Hello. Newbie to the forum here.

    A week ago my stock X910 was stuck on the Pioneer splash screen. I fixed it by updating to the FX3.1 update/mod found elsewhere in the forum. I had to delete Alaska and Hawaii maps in order for the update to fit in the units Flashdrive. After those states were deleted the mod installed fine and was working well. This mod looks like a huge improvement so I couldn't leave well enough alone. :)

    First tried the 3.2 mod - I believe it copied over correctly (got a big green "+" on the screen). However after rebooting it's stuck on the "system startup" screen overlaying the menu. I can go into the Audio selection menu and choose a valid input (say FM) and the unit will play. However trying anything tied to the Navigation side will freeze the touchscreen up. And whether I try to get into navigation or not the unit will reboot after a few minutes and the cycle repeats itself.

    Thought maybe the new 3.2.1 update would help. Only difference I saw is the finished copying screen now shows a green box instead of the "+" sign. Also the icons in the Audio selection menu that I don't have hooked up are colored instead of greyed out. Navagation still won't start.

    The first time the unit boots up after updating there's a WinCE error of some sort that flashes VERY quickly on the screen. I think one of the words in the error is "object", but I'm not sure. It's not on the screen long enough to read. Subsequent boots after that don't have the error.

    Any ideas? Possibly not enough space for the mod to fully copy over? I don't think WinCE gave any error when I tried to copy the full maps over in the FX3.1 update, so I'm not sure there would be any indication if the files didn't fully copy over. Or maybe that's not it at all? Did a search for "reboot loop" but only a couple of threads came up and neither seemed to fit.

    Thanks in advance for any help.

    Which Map folders do you have on your flashdisk? Do they contain the basemap.fbl? I'm sure the error says it does not find the map, hece Igo does not start.

    I had the same problem when I just had the folders Map_ta and Map_nt, since i added a folder Map with the basemap.fbl it works, don't ask me why

    Try it with all 3 folders in content, these folders should contain the respective basemap and the map of your location. If it works you can add more maps.

    Might sound fool to some of you, but helped to reanimate my Avic after installing this mod.

  6. Hi Alex,

    here are the files I get from Poicon when I use the Speed camera updater.Should contain 19k fixed and 24k mobile cams across Europe

    Usually it works as follows:

    1: Formatted SD card into Avic to get the Device.nng

    2: SD card into PC with Speed Camera Updater Software

    3: Start Speed Camera Updater Software, which will ask for Login Data and will only work with registered device.

    4: Stick SD card into Avic and boot which will create or update Speedcam files

    This is what I have handy right now. If you want me to, I can copy the speedcam files from my Avic once I get my car back ( my son just got his driving license :-) )

  7. Hello Jorg-

    I definitely do not want to include maps. I think I will remove the maps from my files and let people use their own. I had only included one map file in hopes that people would not restart their system with map changer and not have maps in place. I might just have to remove them and hope that people not do this. It will make my download smaller by 50MB too which I would love to do.

    Regarding the speedcam files. Can you zip and send me a PM with your files? I would like to have them so I can include them in the package. Will do!

    Can you tell me what each of these items do?

    supress_straight=1 ;Supresses the navi voice going: " go straight for X kilometers/miles"
    supress_highway_enter=1 ;Supresses the Navi voice going : " Enter Highway in x Meters", comes up 2-3 times on the last kilometer before entering a highway and only in situations when you have no othe choice anyway, so completely useless
    supress_trivial_left=1 ; Supresses the navi voice from going. " Stay left" when there is no other option anyway
    supress_trivial_right=1

    I will add in the TMC ones to the EU and AU based sys.txt.

    Regarding the phone call problem. That "feature" as a byproduct of the pioneer system files. You can check carvers thread for edited files as I know he made some changes. All I think he was able to do is make it so that whatever screen you have it on it will stay on that screen and not switch to the map. The system still stays locked though unfortunately. I am not sure why Pioneer did this (probably some safety thing). Unfortunately its above the control of the iGo software and more system level.

  8. Hi Alex,

    maps and speedcam are the most obvious. But I think adding European Maps to your files would make them just too big. And everybody can get the most recent TA and NQ maps with buildings and POI's here. As you provide EZrider and License files everybody should be fine.

    For the speedcams I played a bit around with various scources, but got stuck with prolonging the Piocon subscribtion that every Avic user in Europe gets for free in the first year, maybe somebody else has a better (and cheaper) scource for you to include into your mod. The poicon files seem to be linked to the Serial number of the Avic and cannot be used on multiple devices.

    A few suggestions for the SYS.TXT:

    [debug]

    supress_straight=1

    supress_highway_enter=1

    supress_trivial_left=1

    supress_trivial_right=1

    should be obvious and is good for the nerves especially in areas were you have to change highways often.

    [feature]

    tmc_event_coloring=1

    tmc_traffic_side=1

    not exactly sure if the colour scheme needs to support that, work with the scheme I use.

    I know we had that before, but as you dug so deep into the system now, do you think one can supress the phone pop up, so one can use the AVIC while on a call? I am 90 % of the time in the car on the phone and it pisses me off, that I can't check the traffic or change my destination without finishing the call before. There must be a way, as it works if you disconnect your phone by disabling BT, initiate the call and then start BT on the phone again.

  9. Hi Alex,

    just to clarify: If updating, all the contetns of the Mitacap folder are beeing copied. So if I don't want to overwrite my maps or speedcam, I just delete these folders from your files.If I want more or other schemes, I just add the schemes folder to your Mitacap. Correct?

    For us here in Europe that is a great help, well done and thank you very much

    Jörg

  10. Hey Alex,

    you are way too quick for me :rolleyes: .

    I'm still on 3.1 and have at least one thing which I find needs improvement: to toggle between the map styles you have to press the compass, but I find it very hard to touch the button so it responds in the right way. 90% I end up setting the cursor in the to right corner instead of toggling between 2d and 3d. Maybe it's just me, but takes a lot of attention off the road.

    In addition I have one question: Is there a way to hide the speedcam icons on the map? Here in Europe you can get serious fines in some countries if cought with a System like that.

    Thanks

    Jörg

  11. Yes and yes. Do you have 3 folders because you have three different map types you use?

    No, I Use TA and NT maps.

    My map folders in contend are: Map (TA base and Germany) Map_ta (TA base and Germany) Map_mt (NT base and Germany) If I delete the Map folder the system hangs with the pls wait message.

    But never mind, it works well just with the NT maps, and I'm sure I will TMC get fixed as well. You better ejoy the holidays now with your family, we here at AVIC had our Xmas already.:-)

    Thanks for that

    Jörg

    Edit: had some time to play around with 3.1 now: TMC and Mapchanger are working fine! Only thing I couldn't find out was how to access the split navi sreen directly from the Nav screen, is there a way or do we have to go through the quick menue?

  12. Just installed 3.0 and obviously have a few questions.

    1) Did not get any TMC messages (device set correctly in SYS.TXT and TMC activated)

    2) When trying to use Mapchanger, i can only select beweeen TA Maps and some Australian Maps. I'm in Europe and have European TA and NT Maps installed.

    3) Somebody got a up to date european speedcam file?

    4) Changed the language to German, but many menue items are still in English, is that by design?

    Just had a first glance, but that was very promising

    Jörg

  13. Thanks Alex,

    Well that was worthwhile already - I had previously misunderstood uncomment to mean remove the " sign instead of the ; sign.

    What about things like [Timezone] and [regional]?

    Presumably I can reset longitude and latitude to my own locality?

    Best,

    John

    I´ve been playing around with the LAT/LON in SYS.TXT for a while as one of my major issues with the device was the slow GPS fix. Couldn´t notice any difference even when setting the position to my actual position. Only thing that seems to help is entering the route only after the fix is stable in order to free up cpu capacity for getting the fix done. I think the SYS.TXT setting is only used on the forst bootup and then the last position is saved in somewhere in the SAVE folder.

  14. Seems to vary by unit and what is running. Sometimes mine is very snappy and othertimes it lags. Depends a lot on how long after bootup. Mine is really bad before BT connects. I think it's also GPS lock too. These mods do more which does make it a little worse but IMO the functionality is worth it. The original setup was horrible. :)

    Due to some mistakes in copying my unit was not booting properly, so I had to fall back to my OEM backup, which I`m using for a coupple of days now. I can just confirm that stock set up is horrible and useless. Even if the mos would slowdown the system by 100% (what they don't do) it would still be worth using the mods as you save so many clicks.

    The awesome work of Alex and the other experts can`t be praised enogh!

    Thanks again for that!

  15. Diaftia,

    even though smartzoom is a desireable feature, I would agree that releasing what you have is propably the best thing to do as more people can take a look at the code, hence the chance of somebody identifying the bug are growing rapidly.

    On the other hand people like myself who are only users will be very happy to get something to play around with.

    That would be a nice xmas gift to the community :-)

    Jörg

  16. Diaftia,

    I've been meaning to ask you. Is there any way to modify the amount of notices the Nav calls out while your approaching a turn, etc? I noticed Samantha TTS announces at 2mi, 1mi, 1/4 Mile, 500ft and then another one where she'll just say. Make the next Right or left after all those other annoucements. Wouldn't somebody realize that was just a bit excessive?

    Anyhow, in your next update is that something that can possibly be resolved?

    Thanks!.

    P.S. Have been enjoying your V2.3 for a while now!. Most appreciated for your hard work and efforts!

    Try playing around with these values in SYS.txt:

    tts_expected_engine_delay=1400

    tts_getaway_time=200

    I noticed it is depending on the speed, hence the time you need to approach a turn etc., when stuck in a traffic jam you get much more "reminders" as when you are going at 200 Kmh on the Autobahn.

    If you are more sofisticated than I am, there should also be a way to edit the tables of the TTS engine directly, but I don't recall were they sit at the moment.

    Jörg
