  1. Hello,

    Info:

I have an AVIC-F90BT headunit (w/ version 2.0 update preinstalled) installed with hardwire bypass.

Phones that I've tried to pair with the system are: SONY ERICSSON W810i and BLACKBERRY CURVE 8900.

I've tried both bluetooth update versions 3.3 and other 2.9 (the version for w300i or sumthing)

Both ringtone and voice volume settings are turned up.

Speakers are powered by an aftermarket amplifier

I can hear music/movie/navigation sounds just fine

    Problem:

I was able to connect both phones to the headunit. Connection was successfully established; phone was sucessfully sync'ed to the headunit; once call was connected, the other end could hear me just fine. Only problem is that I could NOT hear the other person through my speakers.

Can you hear the Navigation Voice? ie. right turn ahead... If you can't then it is possible that only the rear RCA's are connected to the amplifier. The navi voice and your caller's voice only come out of the front outputs. It's stupid, but this happens a lot.

    Does anyone have any idea?

Thanks in advance for any inputs,

    Gullit

  2. So i currently have my external xm tuner (Pioneer Inno) hooked up thru the back of my f700bt to the aux inputs. Ths works fine right now. However, i just purchased an ipod adapter, which requires these plugs. My question is can i get a ip bus rca connector to hook up the xm radio? how would i set it up on the unit? EXT?

    thanks for any help,

    Josh

No the ip rca adaptor won't work. How about feeding it into the front input?

  3. Couple of questions.

1.) So I take it, out of the box, I can not really take control of my iPhone's music without that cable (The standard APPLE USB cable wont work right?) Thats why you guys are recommending that cable?

2.) Theres NO WAY to stream the audio using bluetooth because its missing a A2DP profile, correct?

3.) When you say buy an amplifier, is the amplifier that comes with the 6ave link posted here sufficient?

    1. Yes, can't use the Apple cable.

    2. Yes.

    3. Yes, but if you have an aux input this is not necessary.

  4. buy the add on amplifier for 100 bucks and the ipod cable and youre good to go. the cable will plug into the upod and let you access the music. the amp integrates into your factory system to give you more power and allow your calls, music, and navigation directions to come through your car speakers.

You could do that, but if your car has an "aux input" you could just feed the audio into that plug from the 500BT.

  5. Hey, I'm about to purchase a F500BT from 6ave for 200.00

    Is that a good deal?

And can the F500BT stream my iPhones music to my car stereo? That and the ipod voice control is the main reason I wanted to purchase it. It'd be nice to just sit in my car and have it play my iPhone music without having to hook my iPhone up to anything.

If by "stream" you mean via Bluetooth, then the answer is no. There is no AVRCP or A2DP in the AVIC-F500BT. If you buy the optional cable (CD-IU200VM, i think) then you can access, play, search... the music on your iPhone all you want.

  6. You might as well ask for everything, here is my list:

1). Brand Icons for POIs (Mcdonalds logo...)

2). When you click on a POI icon, the system tells you what it is and offers you a route to it

    3). Heading Up in 2D

4). The ability to zoom back further in 3D

5). The ability to manually add a Contact to the BT Contact list

6). The ability to use the dial pad while on a BT call

7). The ability to use the Nav while on a BT call

8). HD Radio Frequencies listed in the presets

  7.

Contact names remained unchanged for me and no additions of "mobile" "home" etc.. I also cleared the memory on the unit then transfered the phone book again, but no change... BTW I am AT&T w/ Motarola V3xx

I was really hoping this would be fixed

The reason all of your contact info is not going over is because only the "Primary" number (AVIC calls this "General") is sent over by the phone. A way to fix this is to change how your phonebook is organized. Instead of having 3 numbers for John Smith in one contact name. Have one as John Smith Home, one as John Smith Mobile and one as John Smith Work. I realize this is a PITA, but will get you going untill you can get a new phone. BTW, I have the same phone and went through the same PITA.
