anyway i can use my ipod photo with a newer avic model? or any newer dock accessory?
unfortunately works in none of the 5 dock accesories ive got, 3 being pioneer units-
not sure why exactly,as it came with a usb cable, but i just get an error msg on the ipods screen or a not supported on the accessories screen
the last unit i had that it worked with was a d3, long gone unfortunately

ive found the original n1 unit to have been the most accurate over the years,
the rest ive sold and installed over the years have all had this annoying little issue
some ahead and most behind
it was also the most expensive
probably just a fluke
oh well, like others said u will get used to it

one thing -
be sure your ipod is compatible with
the f series and cd-i230v cable connection,
b4 buying the cableing
it seems most older ipods are not compatible
from pio web
NOT Compatible
> iPod (1G, 2G, 3G, 4G)
> iPod Photo
> iPod Mini (1G, 2G)

forgot to post back on this one,
never found the VSS , apparently things changed
for wiring for 07 --rev found as posted- thanks
the sub dash must be trimmed down on the vans radio
opening to fit dbldin
also i had to fab brackets to mount the unit- there is no
factory brackets or anything in there- its just empty
and wide open
thanks

thanks alot,
the VSS was right at the cluster-made it much easier.
had to get the REV at the fuse blk under rear seat.
suprised i couldnt find the REV up front any where-
yes i did need to trim that brkt support for the factory radio
easy one - for once - took 30 secs with dremmel
the fit and finish with the metrakit to chevy was really
not the greatest- but that seems common on the gms
thanks

components connected thru the ip bus system are
controlled on/off by the headunit on/off
even though connected to constant 12v+
its not always on
-
dont mean to hijack thread
misfit
is the free cam nd-bc2 thru CF part
of a current promotion thru pioneer?
i have not been notified of any such
promotion--so im guessing its on their
own. it is kinda redicoulos these prices\
considering that crutchfield is most likely
a volume dealer and getting 5% lower
than dealer cost. #'s dont add up
im gonna ask pio rep tomorrow

i think dvd video playback is really the bottom line
if you want dvd video get the d3 if not then get the d2
on a lesser note--the d3 has exceptional ipod control

recommend running a common ground for that equipment
to a near by frame or other such location. I ve never had a problem
running a few small components(head unit+sat+ipodetc...)off
of the 12v+in the factory harnes---but if i am running more than
just a few or its a top end install-I will rrun a seperate fused
12ga. from the battery.

I know all the wiring gets overwhelming--i usaully will
build a harness on the work bench --as far as i can go
then put it in the vehicle

Notes:
NOTE: This vehicle is equipped with PATS (Passive Anti-Theft System). Use DEI module 555U to over-ride during remote start. *1 The GEM (Generic Electronic Module) is to the left of the radio. *2 The driver door trigger is yellow/black and the passenger door(s) is gray/red. Use both wires and diode isolate as shown in directfax document #1076. *3 The PCM (Powertrain Control Module) is on the top of the firewall under the hood towards the passenger side. The tachometer wire is in pin 48. Can also get tach at the ignition coil or coil pack. Use any of the tan/stripe wires. *4 The GEM in this vehicle shuts down after the doors have been locked for a certain time period, to 'wake-up' the system refer to directfax document #1093
