  1. There is a sale going on for Pioneer products at Amazon. 30% off code is B7IN95L6

You can actually get a 920BT for around 500$ if you apply this coupon + 100$ rebate (http://g-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G ... 05216_.pdf) and by getting a 10% off by adding another Pioneer product (add a cheap Pioneer cable or something).

This deal is by far the best I have seen for 920BT.

Thanks to Slickdeals site for posting this deal.

  2. I have a F900BT upgraded to 3.01. 3.0 was done using the hacked version and the 3.01 was done using the update downloaded from Pioneer. I also used the hacked EZRider to load 2009.6 maps. Everything was working fine until 3 days ago.

3 days ago I had to drive to downtown Toronto where among the highrises its difficult to obtain a good GPS signal. The first sign of trouble was when I started the car and when the main menu came up, tried plotting a course home. The course was plotted, but the map screen was showing map of the destination. At that time, video was also being played with the output going to a root mounted player in the rear. After getting into the highway, I noticed that there were many things wrong with the device. The time was off, the map was not tracking - the screen was still showing the target map - the distance to destination seems to be off etc. After I got off of the highway, I pulled over to the side and reset the device. This time, it never came to the main screen. It will show the Pioneer splash screen for a few seconds and then reboot. This cycle repeats and the device never seem to boot up. And occassionaly it would come to the main screen, but there wont be any navigation. If you reset, 99% of the time, it would go into the reboot cycle.

I came home, tried to goto the testmode and the device wont even recognize the SD card!!! I searched around and found a solution here...

    http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php? ... de#p163944

And on another thread I found the solution to this problem is to delete the 4 .bin files in the root of MyFlashDisk.

With the help of those two threads, I was able to get it back up and working. But the joy was shortlived.

Today, on my way back from the airport, I was playing music from my SD card and the screen was just showing the map screen without any navigation being done. Suddenly, I noticed that the music stopped and the screen appeared to be frozen. I touched the menu button and suddenly the screen started working again and music continued. Didnt pay any attention till I stopped at a gas station. When I restarted the car, the device went back to the reboot cycle !!! I came home, repeated the same steps I did two days ago and got the device to working again.

My concern is that since this happened twice already, will it happen again? I have a backup of the device with me and if I delete the content of MyFlashDisk and replace it with the back, would that help? Or is it a Windoze issue rather than the Pioneer software issue?

    Please help...

  3. 04gmc,

Your testmode issue has been experienced by other users. Here's one of the links I found

    http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=23852&p=163944&hilit=testmode#p163944

If this link does not help, please try to search for "testmode" and you will see different solutions to get into testmode.

    Hope this helps!

This link certainly helped me. My F900BT was constantly rebooting at the splash screen. I couldnt even get into the testmode. I followed the instructions of this link - press reset and eject button together for 5 seconds, release the reset but keep the eject button pressed a few more seconds and release - and i was able to get into the testmode. Then i went ahead and deleted those temo BIN files and the device works now !!! Many many many thanks to all those details without which I would have been completely lost. THANK YOU !!!

  4. I searched the forums to see if this question has already been asked and I couldnt find any. So pardon me if am asking a question which was answered already and I missed it.

I did the upgrade of my F900BT with the 3.0 upgrade posted in the Hacks/Mods forum and it went smoothly - thanks to the very detailed instructions posted. However, I noticed some strange occurances on my device. It looks like the 3D and 2D maps have been switched. What I mean is that when I push the 3D icon for the map display, I get the 2D display and vice versa. Also, if am not navigating - meaning, I havent specified any destination - then the road names on the 3D screen dont appear. However, if am navigating, these labels do appear.

Since, no one has encounted such an issue before, I think it must be something specific to my device. Could there be any setting that I need to change to fix this?

    Thanks in advance...

  5. The 900 supports only DivX (not even xvid) and I seriously doubt how much you can pack into a CD-R (700 MB). I myself had issues with xvid files and one of the posting on this site solved the problem in most efficient fashion. The poster recommended using a program (i think the name is avicf) to change the header info of the file to make it look like DivX certified.
