  1. I'm not having any of the issues others are reporting - mine works perfectly.

I was looking into the CAR-PI 131 but opted for the PAC unit. The Car-pi is cool because it displays PIONEER on your dash - but that is about it. On the PAC Audio unit you have more control to program more buttons. I use my phone pickup button for mute - something you cannot do with the car-pi.

    I have the following controls:

track up/down (right hand top controls)

mute (right hand bottom left control)

Volume up/down (left hand top controls)

    Thanks,

    Chris

Well my CA-R-PI.133 does these: (<1s = press for less than 1 second, >1s = hold it for over 1 second))

    "Up" <1s = radio Freq +or CD: Track +

"UP" >1s = radio presets + or CDC: disck + (not avaiable with F-series since no CDC)

"Down" <1s = radio Freq - or CD: Track -

"Down" >1s = radio presets - or CDC: disck - (not avaiable with F-series since no CDC)

    "+" Volume +

    "-" Volume -

"+"& "up" <1s Source (this switches between the sources available, i.e. FM/AM/CD/IPod)

"+"& "up" >1s Off/On (Hmm I havnt try this yet, I'm not sure if this works on F-series or not since we can't turn the unit complete off)

    Again, I dont know about 131 since I have a +05 C-class...

I'd say just go for whichever is cheaper. Sounds like they do the same thing.

  2. In AV Settings, I think, there's a Mute option. You can select between having it mute music, attenuate music, or leave music as is and talk over it.

Note: you can change the setting only if you set audio source to OFF.

Thank you for your response. However, I want the voice to be off. I don't want it to mute the music, or leave it as it is and talk over it, I just want the voice to shut up, basically :)

However, when doing this, I am experiencing the music 'hickup'.

Well you can leave the music as is and then mute the guidance voice

  3. Do your headlights dim when the bass hits?

    Hey, thanks for the reply.

I didn't pay attention on the headlight, I'll go check it later.

My first guess would be the draw from the amp is causing a large enough voltage drop that the head unit reboots... How big is your sub amp?

I dont think I have a sub amp, all I did was bypassing the stock amp and run the speaker wires straight from the new HU- some members on a MB forum suggested me to install my HU this way so I dont have to worry about the fiber optic system on my car... Would this be a possible cause?

I don't know if Mercedes need the "big 3" upgrades, but that would be my first suggestion, if this is the problem... A capacitor could help as well, but upgrading the electrical system overall is the better solution...

Can you explain more on this upgradge? Sorry I'm a total noob in this field.

  4. Hi, I did search but didn't find any result similar to my issue.

I have an F90bt, and it keeps rebooting when the bass is high enough.

When I use "Powerful" in EQ setting, Loudness to "Mid", and when the volume goes pass 15, my HU would reboot if the bass of the music is high enough.

If i pick "flat" in EQ setting and change loudness to "off", the unit would reboot when the volume goes pass around 25 when the bass kicks in.

    What could be wrong?

    I have a '05 Mercedes-Benz C-class with stock H/K speakers.
