  1. When I watching videos on the F90BT off the iPod, the aspect ratio was off so I turned off widescreen on the iPod. It works fine then but the next time I'm in my car, the widescreen comes back on. I checked the settings on the F90BT. I will fiddle with the settings again.
  2. Mines giving me audio warnings with the default settings.
  3. No that's not normal. It should load up right away. Maybe something wrong w/the iPod. Try comatible iPod and test it out.
  4. joegr> You're right. Ok that's a good reminder, forgot about that. That's good, now I don't have to move the gps antenna. But my inconsistent signals for MSN Direct is because my area isn't getting good signal?
  5. I too have the gps antenna inside the dash. I get "High" accuracy but I get inconsistent MSN direct bars.
  6. Yea, I'm getting those same bread icons for restaurants. I am also looking for a way to change it to the default one w/the knife/fork icon. There's another icon that pops up everywhere in my map. It's the one w/red and white colors and it has a angled square inside the box. I've tried looking under the info but the icon doesn't come up in the list. I want to change that icon to something else as well. I'm also looking for a way to get POI icons for fast food restaurants. I see a McDonalds icon in the download of the branded icons but I do I use it?
  7. Nevermind I found a fix. I decided to take the gps antenna out out of the dash and put it near the front window and it picked up signal. It doesn't make sense though. After I tested it, I put it back inside to the right of the unit and it's picking up signal fine. I think I'm gonna have to find a better place after I test this out.
  8. Alright now this is really bothering me. I checked my gps connection today again and it's not picking up signal. What gives? Before copying: I copied the branded icons: No signal: First option "Around Current GPS Location" greyed out: I was excited to play around w/this since I just got it installed. What can I do fix this?
  9. Ok so I just need to copy the "Branding" folder zipped. I will try that tomorrow. Yeah, that's why I was confused. The gps was picking up signal just fine before doing this and I lost signal right after I copied the icons so I freaked out. Just weird that the gps wasn't picking up a signal cuz I usually get "High" reception. Thanks
  10. Alright, so I just tried to add the branded icons and was able to copy and paste the "Branding" folder to Myflash/apl2/igo. This is not making any sense, but now when I go to the gps setting, it's not picking up a gps signal. Does anyone know why this is happening? I tried resetting the unit but doesn't fix. Please help
  11. Yea, it was pretty simple. I just wired it under the steering wheel wires and took out the pop-out to get access to one of the knock-outs and drilled a hole. Just couldn't reach the wire when I was doin it but eventually I did. For the hole that I drilled, I made a careless mistake and made it slightly bigger than needed so it's a little loose.
  12. Maybe I wasn't clear enough. I wanted to route the bluetooth mic to one of the knock-outs so I have a clean look as well as being it hidden. So I just got it routed and I've tested the voice recognition features and used the phone w/the mic. On the phone, I was glad the person on the other end said it sounds normal, just not as good as talking directly to the phone. To better the quality I had to lower the volume on the head unit during the call. For the VR, its an on and off thing. But I think that's not because of the mic placement but it's a problem in the VR software and everythingt. I
  13. Thanks to all the ones that helped. I got the bluetooth mic routed to one of the pop-outs.

    Mine's Installed!

I'm installing the F90BT right now, and I actually wanted to run the gps antenna through the side air bags but decided not to mess w/it. Some people in the forums recommended not to fiddle and i was told there are clips that if I break, I would have to purchase new ones so I just ran the wire hidden next to the head unit. I attempted to route the ipod cable to the center console but couldn't get the piece to come off on my Scion tC. Will try again though. Temporarily, I have the ipod cable in the glove box.
  15. I got the parking wire grounded now so video and bypass works! I put the gps antenna to the right of the unit for now. Tested it and got "high" signal. What do u guys think of the location? Here's one of the pics: Now how do I route the bluetooth mic to the accessory switch like this: Please help
  16. Got mine from them also. The deliver came the day after I order it or was it the 2nd day. Anyway I was very impressed w/the shipping. I am actually in the process of installing it right now.
  17. I'm in the process of installing the Avic-F90BT in a 08 Scion tC. How do I route the bluetooth mic to the aux switch like in the image? (don't know what it's called)
  18. lseguy1> I'd like a clean factory look so a lot of people are putting it under the dash. Do you know where that goes? It seems easy to route so I think that's what I'm doing. When doing the bypass, the mute wire clicked when I inserted it so I think we're good there. Thanks for the heads up. As terron pointed out, I'm not gonna mess w/the air bags.
  19. My bad. I am installing the F90BT on my 08 Scion tC. 1) I think the reason I'm not getting video is because I didn't ground the parking wire. How would you do this? Please explain in detail since I'm a newb. 2) I got a tip on another forum that if I take the battery out of the loop and let the car sit for 10-20 minutes to disengage the bags and then pull the piller off carefully, I can wire the gps to the a-pillar. Otherwise, where would you recommend placing the gps?
  20. Ok so I was installing this unit w/a buddy all day today and we are probably finishing it tomorrow. When we plugged in the ipod, and loaded up a video, I don't get the video; only sound. Also it gives me a warning sign that you aren't allowed to view videos while the car is in motion even though we did the bypass and the vehicle is parked. Are we missing something here? Also how do I put the gps unit behind the a-pillar without triggering the side air bags? Finally, I want to route the ipod cable to the center console and when we tried to remove the center console, the part wouldn'

    Quick question

Yeah that's what I was looking @. Someone else in the forums said number 2 but I think it's number 1. Will be ordering it now.

    Quick question

Oops. Forgot to say what which car. This is for my 08 Scion tC

    Quick question

    Which one do I need? 1. 2.
  24. I've never used a splicing tool but I guess I'm gonna have to go purchase one for this install. I currently have two questions: (for now. lol) 1. I currently have the stock setup on my Scion tC with the ipod & aux hookup in the center console. I want to keep this setup rather than the glovebox. How difficult is it to keep it the way it is now? Is it just a matter of wiring the cables under the carpet? 2. After installing the head unit, I want to be able to close the cover. On the tC, I've read that you need to drill holes. Would I need a electric drill to do this. Also anyo
  25. terron> Does your Boyo camera have RCA jacks? Does everyone use a soldering iron to install this? I don't have one and I thought it would install without one. I did get a link to a tutorial on the bypass w/pics on the forums from a fellow poster.
