I guess I had another question.  I am not looking to watch videos while driving.  My kids have their Ipods and such and we have a video system for the vehicle, so this isn't the purpose of the new HU I got.  Is there any major functionality that I will be lacking without the bypass?  It won't affect my audio streaming in any way will it?

This is what I'm trying to figure out.

I have a ipod video and just to have ipod control (no video) I still need the special ipod cable?

So glad I found this out before I spent money for this Nav unit.. I only wanted one built in so I wont have to use tomtom on my phone while driving..

I guess it's back to finding one that's not overpriced and has decent nav
