  1. Yeah man, it's not really all that hard. Will you need your truck every day? If so, you may have to put up with a big hole in your dash for a while. Do the pigtails, then put the Z1 in last; don't stuff it in then yank it out 20 times just to check something- wouldn't want to damage that screen or something. You have a popular truck; I put mine in an 03 Kia Sorento. The speakers and amps took longer than the Z1 install!

  2. I have heard some talk about the end connector of the Pioneer GPS antenna. I've never seen one like it before. I think I can see how it's put together, has anybody replaced the end connector? How hard was it? Where did you get the piece?

The reason I'm asking is that I got a little GPS antenna at a flea market- it's a Trimble 40767-40, and I paid 2 dollars for it, still in the wrapper. It has a tiny coax screw-in connector. I was thinking I could put a Pioneer end on it and have a spare.

  3. I put mine just above the windshield corner, and ran the little wire along/under the rubber trim. Then it goes along inbetween the fender and the door, and makes a break in the door wiring harness rubber boot thing, and in up/ under/ beside the dash. Plenty of cord that way!

  4. I guess this like the others; my XM works fine, I can hop channels and get my radio ID off channel 000. I'm almost POSITIVE it was working on the bench a few days ago- I checked it out before I took everything apart to install, and wrote my radio ID on a little piece of paper. I've got the black /black /out on my 920 (not the traffic unit) to blue/blue/in in on my Z1 (Aug 06). There is another, bigger plug-in on the back; manual says that's for TV tuner in, so I'm not messing with it.

  5. Yeah, I bought from this shop. I'm not an employee, but I really can't say anything bad about them. I paid like 1800 total. When they first hooked me, it was for 1399, and the unit didn't have any wiring. WHATEVAH! For 100 bucks more, I got the wiring. They specificaly told me that they can't sell the unit for less than xxx, so they sell added warranties to make up the difference. So I got that too. The details aren't bad, really. My box came in two days from NYC to Va. Beach. Was it "factory sealed" ? No. Not like an Alpine box, or a box from Crutchfield that has printing on the tape. In fact, the box didn't have any tape on it at all. Anybody else get a tape sealed box? But it was mint, sharp edges, all the wiring, manuals, ect. Yes, the Z1 came wrapped in that foamy paper stuff. Was it used? Dunno. Smelled new, works perfectly. There were some small, very minor scratches like scuff marks around one of the pigtail plug-ins. And some small, very minor marks on one side; but it was polished, more like something from the stamping machine. Can I recommend them? Sure, as long as you know what you're getting into. Customer service was OK; I told the guy I'd think about it and call them later when he told me all the details. I called in the morning, a few days later after thinking it over. I do believe they sent it out the same day, I even got a call from UPS saying somebody would need to be there to accept and sign for it. I have heard that is part of thier ploy- "you signed for it, it's yours pal." Overall, I'm happy. PM me for details...
