  1. I tried today to get my BB Tour to play through the front AUX input with a headphone to headphone jack to play Pandora and It wouldn't recognize it. It doesn't even pull up AUX2, just AUX1 where my iPod is. I tried while the car was under power, and after starting it plugged it, and no results. I have used Pandora with my phone and other speakers (traveling outside) without issue, but for some reason it doesn't play. Pandora was playing once I unplugged the headphone jack.

I tried to activate the AUX input but it only gives me VID and off and nothing else.

Any theories to why this would happen? I have XM so it isn't that big of a deal, but just another expansion I can use in the car.

    Thanks!

  2. jeesh! I feel lucky, the F90bt I have works perfect. I've never had a boot up error or any bugs. The only lag is on start up and thats only about 10 seconds, but it starts playing the FM audio in only a couple. I'm not sure if I got the only good one to roll of the line or maybe im not as noticing of its flaws.

Agreed- I must be a lucky one!

Whether I have it on iPod, XM or FM, my sound starts in a few seconds. The NAV is usually up in 15-20 seconds and ready to go.

  3. I have a few pieces of feedback for you:

    1) Not sure about the voice, I just deal with the males voice. You can always hack the voice to be one of the other available voices (see the hacks forum)

    2) That may be the way the truck is, not sure how to correct glare.

    3) If I load my iPod once every few weeks with new music it usually doesn't lock up. It has in the past, but I also have 2 different iPods that I interchange: 120gig classic for music and vids, and a 4gig nano for new music and podcasts.

    4) Did you hook up the VSS when the unit was installed? I installed mine and had to take out my cluster to tap into that lead.

    5) There are quite a few shortcuts to get to delete route. I hit the menu button, then the destination button, then delete route and viola.

    6) I used the memory mod in the mods forum to allot more memory (ram IIRC) to the programs, thus speeding the unit up significantly.

I have been around car stereos for quite some time (installing and competing in stereo competitions for over 15 years) and this unit, aside from sound quality with discs (Eclipse has Pioneer beaten in this category hands down) is everything I have hoped for. I prefer to have the ability to adjust the unit to my liking and sound tastes, but I will also sit and tune/adjust my HU for hours on end because it is in one of our demo/shop cars.

  4. F90BT here.

I have had mine since late last year and I love it as well. I don't have any issues with it, phone book transferred the first time, Bluetooth always links up, XM and NAV are awesome and iPod/SD is also flawless.

I will say my only disappointment is the sound quality and lack of finite adjustment. I came from an Eclipse and sound quality is top notch with their HU's. The Premier is not bad by any stretch of the imagination, but I do notice a flatness in the Pioneer that wasn't in certain songs on the Eclipse. That is super minuscule in the grand scheme, so I am 100% happy.

  5. ^^

    Correct.

I used a Metra harness, and the Pioneer DD install unit (ordered from Enfig on VWvortex) and had no issues. If you have headrest TV's, which I am assuming you meant, you should already have the RCA's run. Talk to Christian from Enfig- he'll tell you what you need as far as a trim piece. The DD install cage comes with one, but it is more for a square DD space. GL!

  6. I have had my F90bt installed for a little over a month and I LOVE it.

(haters of the unit, please refrain from your negative comments- I read them in the lawsuit thread. Thanks)

I have tried to burn a DVD and CD format of some music videos (WMA) to play in the car, and for some reason they aren't working. I am a bit of a nerd, so I have gone over several things:

    Burned to CD (closed session)

    Burned DVD (left session open)

    Burned DVD (closed session)

Any thoughts as to why this isn't working? I can't for the life of me figure out why the format isnt being accepted. The error message is "Unreadable Format" or something of the like.

Thanks guys! The forums are awesome; I am a bit of a forum junkie and this one moves at a decent pace, and has great information. I did a few things during my install because of 411! :grouphug:

  7. I bought mine from the same guys; asked for the additional $15, and it shipped right away. I just got it today (hence registering here before installing it) and it came in a storefront colored box.

I was lucky enough to use the 10% coupon as well, and got a great deal IMO. I frequent a lot of forums and haven't seen anything else negative out there for him.

BTW, this is going into a 2004 VW R32.
