  1. Thanks for the tip.

Now that I have had some time with this all I am going to say is WOW!.

Everything works as it should have with the 3.0 update (sarcasm on: Thanks Pioneer).

I had a very buggy system before and now it all works. Retell you need some compensation for your time and saving me some frustration.

  2. Just an update.

Installed Retell's files and all went well until the it rebooted for the last time. I got the dreaded "Caution: Image screen may appear reversed". Well the screen could still be touched with a audible response and I just started touching random places. Well it ended up doing a language quick boot into Spanish but at least I got the damn screen to show. Changed the language back to English and all is well. I have not tested it completely out but the phone at least syncs. Report back after a couple of days of use.

  3. I see that nobody answered dvine1. Can someone take a stab at it? The reason I ask is my F-90BT stopped working out of nowhere with the Pioneer 3.0 installed and after trying to reinstall the Pioneer 3.0 software again I am getting this exact problem. I am going to try the 3.1 but my question is will it solve this? Thanks in advance for some to help out on this.

I followed the instructions that you have for this install, but when I get to step 5 and reset, nothing happens. My unit just comes back up with the splash screen; I can get to the "top menu" but then nothing responds. I hit "settings" and go to system info and it shows version 2.06 and for map version, it says "no maps loaded" When I try to get into testmode (with another sd card that has the testmode files), it gives me a 'windows-like' screen that looks like it's copying something then the system goes blank. I don't have a clue what to do next. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  4. O.k. I was previously on the 2.0 furnished by Pioneer when I bought the unit. I had zero issues with it other than being slow and applied no hacks to it. I bought the 3.0 upgrade from 6th avenue and all was well. Just got around to doing the upgrade and it actually had zero issues. Booted up fine and everything looked great. Shut the vehicle off while I attended an event and after start up I have no screen except for it says "image maybe reversed" like the camera is in operation but it isn't. Plays the music from the SD card fine but there is no splash screen or anything. Just the message and none of the keys work at all.

    Anybody got a clue.

Tried to start the reload of the software and it does not even work.

  5. I would like to just hook the reverse wire up to a switched +12VDC and have the rear view camera available all the time because I tow with my Navigator and would like to be able to check on the load from time to time going down the road. Is the reverse wire able to accept a a straight switched +12VDC all the time?

  6. The HD radio tuner is a separate box with an IP bus and antenna input. It can tune in analog and digital FM broadcast including the multiple channels on a single frequency. So if you want the easiest method of using the HD get the antenna splitter and you can tune in on AM, FM, or HD source selections on the Avics...

This is correct. I bought my HD box off of ebay for 75.00 and put the splitter in and all is good. I can't believe I went to 4 car audio shops and always got "we don't hook the antenna up to the head unit just the HD unit when we install them. No one listens to AM anymore".....

  7. 1. You dont need and antenna splitter for this. Run your factory antenna into the Hd tuner. Then run the P-Bus cable from the Tuner to the Avic. Select HD as your source and youll get all your stations that way, even the ones not broadcast in HD. You will still be able to selsct am or fm on the unit but there will be static cause the antenna isnt plugged in.

I have a 2005 Navigator and this is bad advice.

Actually to receive AM he needs to split the antenna.

Isn't it an installers responsibility to re-install all functions of a radio when they give it back to the customer?
