Does the "menu button" on the screen wheel function like a back button or does it always revert to the top of the list?

This one is a bit tricky and technically works but only once.

So, you start playing an album and you can tap menu and it will take you back to song list and from there if you tap the back arrow you will end up at album list and so on. Now, if you tap menu and you just go back to iPod, next time you tap menu it will no longer go back to song but rather to either list of albums of artists - I can't remember.

At least it does that on mine.

It is removable and it's not that hard. Only thing you have to worry about is ribbon cables and especially the BT wire, it's super thin and the connectors are very small. Make sure you unclip the ribbon connectors first before you try to remove the cable. Be careful not to get any dust behind the touchscreen, otherwise you'll have to take it apart again.

I saw in another thread where Catch mentioned that in some cases it wanted it to be Pictures versus pictures or PICTURES.

All I wanted from mine is to have a decent iPod control and navigation. Both of those work just fine so I am happy.

I will never use bluetooth, SD playback, XM etc... so I got what I wanted.

Do you see the filename extension? If not, do this:

My Computer - Tools - Folder Options - View - Hide extensions for known file types

Make sure it's not checked. Then go rename your file.

Mine did that when I was messing around with sys.txt and put some things in there that 90BT didn't like.

Yes but they could also say, sorry this unit is outdated and we will not be supporting it in any way anymore. At least it's an option. We are discussing (in another thread) for everyone to chip in and share the software. More people chip in, cheaper it will be.

Yea, they are crooks. You have to beware a lot of camera supplier from NY and NJ area. They are notorious for being sketchy, pushy and threatening customers. It would be a good idea to watch you CC activity for a while just to make sure they didn't charge things on it.

Don't bother with Metra and Pioneer for double DIN cage and trim kit. They are absolute crap. Check out Scoshe. Their stuff is much cheaper and they actually spent some time designing these things to fit the car.

Plenty of people run H/W bypass without any problems so it's unlikely that is what is causing it.

if that is what you have you have to cut connectors off and solder the wires to the head unit. not hard and the install is really easy.
