  1. Thinking about it, there's on need to define the compass twice, and have iGO keep track of navigating thу route for yet another model.

You could have just one compass, and in onRelease have code like this:

    onRelease='runif navigation.HasRoute 1 sc_CheckAndDelete'

and then code sc_CheckAndDelete in navigatemap.ui to be something like

    runif navigation.HasRoute sc_btnARM_Delete_OnRelease

This might be a bit cleaner approach, because it does not force iGO to keep track of yet another model...

Ypoiu probably could even have it in the onrelease code itself, but I can't check it right now becasue IPAQ emulator I use has different model (for some reason they make different builds for different manufacturers with some chnages ot core functionality...)

Did you end up trying this? Or anyone else?

  2. I believe to upgrade you'll have to extend your contract for 2 years again (which is total BS BTW).

Differences between the two are GPS, 3G and size, 3G being thinner. I've seen arguments saying that chipset in 3G is faster but have not seen any proof of that. 3G costs more per month as well.

  3. I have a 4GB HC as well and the only reason I went with it is because Best Buy had them for super cheap. They were like $12 for SanDisk. A week later they were $30.

I would not spend money on HC unless you are transferring a lot of stuff back and forth.

  4. Nobody wants to make them because they are always like this "guyz make moar sick wallpapers but it needs to be sick!!! lol".

If people would provide some example images of what they are looking for I believe there would be better response from the community. I've been doing graphics for years and could accommodate requests but why should I spend my time making custom wallpapers when requester won't spend two minuted describing what they are looking for.

Then there are people that complain how no one made what they wanted

OP, this is not directed at you but just a general rant/observation.

  5. Anyway, I just don't think down there is a logical place for a navigation system, at all. It should be as high up as possible. That's why people mount the portables to their windscreens.

Well in some places portable units on windshields are illegal because of safety issues.

I don't think there is a "logical" place for them regardless where they are. If someone is not a careful driver and is messing with it while driving crap will happen regardless.

    Anyway, enough of that :D

  6. Cars that have a Navi option always have the slot for the stereo very high up. Take, for example, my car. Look where the stereo is:

And now compare how low down the BMW stereo is. This shows the BMW was not designed for a navigation option.

That is absolutely not correct. In mine the OEM navigation sits in the same exact location where Avic is now.

  7. On VAG vehicles it can be a little tricky to get the accessory wire hooked up to the factory harness so you might want to try to tap a fuse that controls something that only had power when key is on ACC (i.e. windshield wipers).

What you are describing sounds like you have the Acc wire hooked up to a constant 12v.
