is it possible to use a transparent .gif image for a daycar and nightcar icon instead of the bitmap red arrow? I'm looking into finding which file references these icons in the 2D maps but havent found anything yet... I think it should be possible since the F90BT uses windows interfaces for the programs. Just have to find the part of the iGo software to change... ANY IDEAS, ANYONE????

Tried several directions. Really strange because I moved it myself, but now it stays put.

 

As for the directions icon BG. Can you please post the query from navigatemap_800_480.ui?

I love your UI but I want to add keepers traffic icon to the navigate.ui

 

However yours is totally different than his.. I want to add the following code to yours but can't seem to find where it would go... I have made the changes to common.ui to accomodate the POI search by address but I'd like to open up the icon as well...

That's too bad there's nothing there. Most everywhere I drive during the week there's nothing either. Only when I go downtown Chicago is when I see the buildings and that's only been about three, four times since I got the building showing on my unit.

I'm searching for a while trough this fantastic forum a way to move the Route info and the stopflyover icons.

I first tried the easy way in changing the "y" values in navigatemap_800_480.ui. No luck.

Next, I read a post where the idea was to change values in the two files navigatemap.ui and start.ui.

Unfortunately, I've no idea how to do this.

Can someone tells me how it can be done?

 

 

Same with the box showing when you make a call. Can it be moved?

finally got it working, i read through some previous articles regarding the buildings and came across this

I now have buildings show on my unit as well as the pre-loaded landmarks. I simulated a route through downtown Chicago and there was literally hundreds of buildings showing. With that type of density of buildings showing, the button presses were noticeably slower to take effect. In a couple cases during simulation the the sheme turned to a all black background. Probably due to the speed of the simulation where the processor could not draw the image fast enough to keep.

IDT, I tried uploading your data.zip onto my f90, and when I press map ok, the unti reboots. What did I miss, I never had this happen with any previous hacks.

did you add the font file included?

What program do you use to edit the files and put the modified codes in with? Do you have to extract any of them?

So I was reading on a forum post that one of the reasons start up is slow is due to the fact that the unit has to decompress the 7Zip files. Out of curiosity, I have a backup of entire flash disk, and I went and looked at the 7zip files containing images and found that the compression ratio is very high (5% of original size on the file I checked).

 

I was going to look into this too but there aren't any 7z files on my 700BT. I'm guessing they did away with the 7z files as part of the 2.0 update in order to speed up boot times.

there's no 7z files but all compressed files are decompressed by 7z (image.res, data.zip and so on)
