  1. So I was having an issue with my AVIC-Z1 in my 4Runr

I have had the unit 5 years now.

Just last week my CD quit reading disks of any type.

So took it back to the local shop.

Looks like I could send it back to Pioneer and get it fixed.

But like a good salesman they showed me the AVIC-F120BT.

So instead of sending it back for repait I have a new Headunit.

But now I have an older AVIC-Z1 in the garage.

Any idea what the resale value would be?

Right now it is without a working Disc Reader?

What about if I got it fixed?

Any idea on resale value? Or even demand?

Check eBay , I think you will be surprised how much it will bring. Personally I would have had it repaired before buying one of the new non-hdd units(110,120 or 130).

  2. I've never used WMP, but yes, in theory. Please let us know if it works. Don't forget to edit the cd-text field to display the way you want.

I use Roxio and have zero problems. I can embed any title I want and verify song title and information using 'Gracenote' prior to burning, also set uniform volume on CD. After doing this the Z hdd thinks it is a store bought CD everytime. I tried WMP a couple of times but had no luck using the CD's on my Z3 unit. Oh, they played alright but would not record.

  3. I noticed there are multiple cables listed on the Pioneer site - which do I get for my iPhone? I'm guessing either the CD-IU205V or the CD-I200 - but what the heck is the diff??

Price is big diff - does the I200 support the charging and music playback on my iphone??

It would be great if someone could give an answer. I have an iPod working perfectly on mine but when I tried to plug in my iPhone for a charge on the same plug it would not support charging for the phone.

  4. I currently have an Updated Z1, 60gb hdd, DVD bypass, 2009 maps etc. I am considering purchase of a Z110. Are the Z110 plugs on the back of the unit the same as the Z1,2,3? I currently have an XM adapter, IPOD adapter and the CanBus adapter for an '08 Dodge 1500. Will all these all plug and play on the Z110 or am I going to have to buy new adapters for these functions? Also how about the GPS antenna, will I have to run the wire for the new Z110 antenna or will the Z1,2,3 antenna plug into the Z110 and work? If some of these will work and some won't work...which is which? I would appreciate any input on these questions, thanks.

  5. I just received my 60g hdd from Mr. Toomy and it took me all of about 5 minutes to install it without any problems. I have not used the GPS yet but from the looks of all the other applications of the program I do not forsee any problems as everything else is working perfectly. I ordered it Sat. AM and received it Tuesday afternoon. Great service. The entire transaction: ordering, shipping and installation was very smooth. Anyone that reads this may feel free to contact me for a recomendation regarding this transaction and the quality of the equipment.

  6. I am using the stock Sirius antenna from my 07 Dodge Ram with teh Pionner XM nav traffic unit. I had to remove the plastic housing from the stock antenna wire so that it would fit.

Thanks, although I am not using nav traffic adapter I will see if that will work on my Pioneer XM adapter.

  7. Hello all

Just a quick message, my rear view camera is starting to fall off as the double sided black tape is loosing it stick, can anyone please point me in the right direction to replace it please? Think 3m make it if I remember correctly!

    Thanks

    Stuart

Get some 3m #4011 tape. It is for external use and holds weight of 5 pounds which should be more that adequate for your use. You should be able to find it in rolls for around $5.00. Link: http://www.officesupplieslane.com/mmm4011.html

  8. I have an 08 Dodge 1500 with the factory sirius antenna. Can I make this work with my Avic Z1(w/Z3 update) using an XM adapter/interface. If so, how? The XM is currently working fine with the little stick-on antenna (mounted on my dash) but I would really like to be able to make use of the Sirius antenna on the roof of my truck.

  9. Will it show genres besides those built in? You can't input a different one in edit mode and it puts country Cds in as 'other.' Strange that it has some rather odd genres and won't allow country or gospel. Surely GraceNotes doesn't have that limitation.

I never actually tried to change gendre, however, I have changed artist name within the inbedded information. Wait a minute, I just tried it and yes I can change gendre. I made the gendre of "Stayin' Alive" by the BeeGee's from Disco to Country  .....and now it is Rap.:lol:

  10. I use Roxio 2009 and never have any problems. All text comes on the screen perfect. Before that I used Roxio EasyCD Creator v5,6,7,and8, without problems. I even use the music editor in Roxio 2009 to chop up different songs and then put them together to make custom ringtones for my phone. No parts over 20 seconds so it is called sampling and not copyright infringment.

  11. New here but I'll probably be around a while. I have an avic z1 upgraded to a 40G hdd and all the info from a Z3 hdd copied on that hdd, so I guess for all practical purposes I have a z3. I also have the Pioneer IPOD adapter and XM adapter installed. And since I have a Dodge Truck I also have to use the CanBus adapter. A lot of stuff crammed in the dash but it all works great!!
