  1. Ms. Brat,

This is a little off topic, but I can't believe some of the crap I read in this forum, calling the F700 a POS. I've been reading a few of your posts and you have a very good head on your shoulders. I've even seen the few times that you've actually bit your tongue with a few of these whining babies.

I'm with you... There are a few minor nuances, but overall, the value of this unit can't be beat. I've had very little trouble with mine... And I mean VERY little.

Keep your chin high as always...

    Mitch

  2. Just got done ordering the 3.0 update. I noticed on the Pioneer site that the discounted price is up to $79, but when I added it to the shopping cart, it showed up as $60. I went ahead and bought it because I didn't want to miss out. I was going to wait until there were some reviews posted of others that had done the upgrade, but it looks like the wait may have ended up costing me money. I guess I'll have to be one of the reviewers now.

    Update:

I went to Pioneers site today and added the 3.0 update to my cart just for sh@ts & giggles. It is now up to $79 in the cart, but Crutchfield is still offering it for $59.99... Go figure. I'm glad I made the purchase when I did. I saved $19 already.

  3. You know what... I hadn't really even thought about Fed-Ex ground. I have an account there too. We use them all the time. I think I'll check into that one.

Most people don't even realize but I have a legit business that I have had for 30 years. http://www.deltamillwork.com My pic is even on there.

I have really about had it with the USPS.

No offense Tom, but you should have your pic moved to another page on your site... Jenny makes you look ugly.

    She's a hottie!!!

  4. If I remember correctly, Saturday, March 14 would have been the normal day that we would manually set our clocks forward before the feds changed to it's current DST schedule, hence the time change in Win CE should have set everbody's clock forward one hour. I didn't adjust my clock for the change and when I got in the truck on Sunday morning, my time was correct. Again, if I remember correctly, in Autumn, if we don't manually adjust our clocks in our AVICs, the time will adjust itself again 3 weeks after DST ends. I'm pretty sure the feds bumped it one week ahead in the Spring and 3 weeks back in Autumn.

  5. I installed my F700BT in a '06 F150, and I just put the GPS transponder directly behind the HU UNDER the dash. My signal strength is fine and it hides the transponder quite nicely. There are some guys over at f150online.com doing this, hence that's where I got the idea. In the F150's, there a large steel support that is part of the body frame that runs the entire width of the truck, but don't know for sure if it's there for the F250. I also used the metal backing that came with the unit too. Hope that helps...

  6. I got a 16 GB SDHC on Newegg over a month ago and it's working just fine. I got one with a card reader for my PC, since it doesn't have one. I have about 8 GB of music on it. I didn't try it with video yet though. I've read in this forum that users are having better luck with video using the SD card than the USB stick though. It takes about a minute to recognize the card and all the music on it, which isn't too bad for me.

I noticed the price went up $7 since I got mine.

I've also read that some are using 32 GB SDHC cards without issues also, but don't recall what brand they're using.

  7. Most vehicles will do this. I don't think I would blame this one on Pioneer. When you turn the ignition, almost all of the battery power will be used to turn the starter. My F150 did this even with the stock radio. When you turned the key, the stock HU would go dead while the starter was cranking. I think it's more obvious with the F series Pioneers because there is an actual operating system booting up. Most stock HU's don't have an operating sytem to boot. Just my 2 cents...

  8. I don't know if this will help anyone or not, but I had the constant reboot problem too. This is what happened... I got my F700BT installed on a Sunday. The very next Thursday I was in a wreck and incurred $12,000 damage on my '06 F150 SCrew. Needless to say it was going to be sitting in the shop for a while, so I took out the amp. I didn't have it mounted yet and was just sitting under the back seat. I didn't want it stolen while in the shop. I picked up the truck yesterday and reinstalled the amp and got the constant reboot. I reset the unit at least 10 times, but no help. I put the test mode files on a SD card and booted to it. I got a message that it was copying files. After the copy, I got a screen with a lime green box in the center. I was going to try to copy the data.zip, but never got into Windows CE to do so. I couldn't do anything at the screen with the green box. I thought my efforts were fruitless. I restarted the unit just for sh@ts and giggles, and sure enough... Everything was working fine. I'm fairly sure this probably won't work for most, but just wanted to get my experience posted. I'm happily listening to music and navigating just fine again.

  9. For Blkmagic off topic:

I installed my F700BT in my 2006 F150 SCrew just last week and put the GPS transponder under the dash just above the HU. There is a steel frame there that is part of the body design. I have no issues whatsoever picking up satelites. I used the magnetic metal backing, that came with the unit, below it also. I found other people doing this on F150online.com with no issues.

Quick question, not to steal your thread or anything :o

I just ordered my F700BT as well, and got my dash kit, harness, antenna adapter, and ipod A/V cable as well and plan on doing the install in my 6th gen Maxima, but was wondering about the GPS satillite, does this have to be out in the open to transmit or does it function fine hidden in the vehicle?
