  1. Diaftias original Data.zip is 15.2mb. Mine that I have done with new images and new coding is closing in at 21.5mb. Plus it would be total disrespectful to Diaftia who has a 3.0 update in the works

    Well the now code has brought that 15mb up to 24mb, I cant see why we can't look at testing some extra themes in the beta stage. It wont be any extra work to put some themes into the installer.

    As to the earlier question re map changer, we have completed an tested that. It's also had a bit of a rewrite to support more maps especially Aussie ones. The installer will also setup the map files and directories for you

    Cheers

  2. 34by151,

    is there anyway of changing the road signs back to green as i cant see them properly in the blue and white? I have got into the menu setting for colour changes and it does not allow me to modify anything.

    Thanks.

    You can alter the theme by modifying the branding file or alter the signpost.ini file in the data.zip.

    The new version has the ability to alter the sign colour and size in the settings menu, so you may want to wait for that. there is lot's of info on changing colours on this board of you search for it

  3. Results so for for the Trip Computer changes

    Before Mods:

    Wait for the GPS to fully lock on before moving : 100% success

    Anything other than the above 0% success rate

    As my car is almost always parked underground I rarely saw the Trip Computer working

    After Mods:

    Starting with car outside

    Drive off without any pause for the Avic to start 0% success rate

    Drive off after Audio starts (GPS not started), 10% success

    Drive off after Nav starts (GPS started but not locked on), 25% success

    Drive off after Nav starts (GPS started and locked on), 75% success

    Drive off after BT connects to phone starts (GPS started but not locked on), 100% success

    Starting with car underground (no GPS signal possible)

    Drive off without any pause for the Avic to start 0% success rate

    Drive off after Audio starts (GPS not started), 0% success

    Drive off after Nav starts (GPS started but not locked on), 10% success

    Drive off after Nav starts (GPS started and locked on), 50% success

    Drive off after BT connects to phone starts (GPS started but not locked on), 100% success

    When starting with the car underground the GPS will take a long time to lock on in comparison to starting outside.

    The way the mod works so far is, none of the code that uses any of the trip computer functions is allowed to be called before

    1. The GPS is locked on and has full accuracy for 30 seconds

    2. Once the above has been achieved the speed log is started

    3. If the speed log is running and full accuracy is retained for another 30 seconds, the Trip computer is started

    4. A message appears to alert you that the Trip Computer has started.

    If any of the trip computer functions are called before the trip computer is started you will get the message "trip computer is not ready". This prevents killing the trip computer before the four items above are achieved.

    I will keep doing some tweaking to see if I can better these results

    Cheers

  4. If you want the the V16.1 maps, use Update01 and follow the instructions posted

    If you want the the V17.1 maps, use Update03 and follow the instructions posted

    If you want the the Skin, use Update02b and follow the instructions posted

    If you want both V17.1 maps and the skin you have 2 options

    Option 1 (Both at the same time)

    1. Download Update02b and Update03

    2. Follow the Update03 instructions up to and including step 4

    3. Extract Update02b to you hard disk

    4. Copy the files extracted from Update02b on to the SD card

    * copy the files to the sd card update directory

    * retain the directory structure

    5. Your sd card will now have in the update directory these subdirectories

    APL

    APL2

    Utils

    6. Continue on with the instructions for Update03 (step 5)

    Option 2 (One at a time)

    1. Follow the Update03 instructions

    2. Follow the Update02b instructions

    You can do either one first it does not matter

  5. Chick88,

    Thanks for your comments re the flash writes. Please be aware that the next version is a collaborative effort.

    I can accept no credit for things that are not entirely my own work, so thanks from both of us

    With regards the flash disk, thank you again, Diaftia and myself are aware.

    I don't feel this is a problem given that you have the option to have these files on the SD card or USB stick.

    Please take the discussion on the flash disk writes to a new thread as it does not relate to this topic directly but to the life cycle the AVIC and electronics in general

    Cheers

  6. Given I do have the Euro F500BT, but if I buy the Aus v3 , wouldn't my unit be effectively the same? The only thing i can think of , changing the device line back to the EU model number...would that disallow SUNA to work?

    I can't answer that as I don't have a 500 or an EU500, so i can't confirm that for you.

    But I think you have answered your own question. They cant be the same if you have different device ID's.

    Does that mean the TMC tuner is the same, I don't know

    If it is the same will the update work, Don't know

    I can tell you that the EU BT update worked on Aus models, not that that is the TMC but it's hopeful.

    From the OEM code I can tell you the differences are minor. The AU just has options present in the EU version commented out and bypassed.

    I think this is more because pioneer did not want to spend on testing. it was cheaper just to disable. I have not found anything code wise that will not run on both.

    so for a few hundred bucks for the update it is worth a punt

    Cheers

  7. If you have V2 firmware SUNA will not be working because you will not have a subscription.

    If you upgrade to a legit V3 SUNA will be activated, that is assuming you have an OZ version Avic and Update.

    Igo will ignore the extra data.zip that you have in the APL2 directory, you can delete this file

  8. I mean when the unit turns on after the New skin has been installed the Blue BT light is no longer on and when i go to the update BT software screen there is now software listed at all so for some reason it is removing it, as when i go back tot he standard R17 map the BT version and software are displayed in the update BT screen. I think Beluga had the exact same prob as me earlier in the thread but i am not sure if he managed to fix it.

    Maybe you should PM him. changing the map files has nothing to do the bluetooth. If you have "software not found" in the phone menu the OS has not loaded the drivers. Again lots of info on this if you search.

    Cheers

    34by151

  9. Thanks I will give it a shot. The only reason i was asking here is because the BT software is totally erased when i load the new map skin on.

    What software are you refering to. The data.zip supplied nor any other data.zip does not contain any BT software. The BT software is part of the os boot image. If that was erased you would not get an operating system at all

    Cheers

  10. just want to make sure as you said almost everything is configurable, so lot of writing will be performed to the Flash

    We have provided for backup, restore, selective restore and clear of the Avic data and the backup/restore of the whiole flash disk.

    What you are asking is not somthing that would be covered by a skin.

    This can be set now in the sys.txt.

    Modify this section of sys.txt

    [folders]

    data="\My Flash Disk\User\UserData\iGo"

    tts_nuance="\My Flash Disk\APL2\iGo\ScanSoft\RealSpeakSolo"

    secondary_app="Storage Card/usericon,USB Disk/usericon"

    usb_trackexport_path="\USB Disk"

    storage_trackexport_path="\Storage Card"

    content="\My Flash Disk\APL2\iGO\content"

    If you change the \My Flash Disk\ to \Storage Card\ igo will load and avic from your new locations

  11. Guy's we will have this out as soon as we can. We are doing the debugging now before final beta testing.

    I can't give you an exact release date other than to say it will be as soon as we can. Both of us are putting in as much time as possible but please realise this is not our job but a hobby.

    I am sure most of you will be very happy with the final product and if not that's ok too. I can only speak personally when I say that I spend a lot of my day on the road in traffic, my efforts are to make driving and getting to where I need to go easier.

    Having more than one persons idea's has made for a much bigger set of changes. As preferences on things differ and opinions on these are varied we have opted to solve this by doing both and giving you the option to select your own preferences in the settings. One example of this among many is the location of the menu. You have the option of where you want the menu located on the screen. So if like me you like to still see the speed signs when in the menu you can and if not you can have them covered.

    We will be asking a lot of the beta testers including help with the user manual. While the new version retains the look and feel please be aware it is almost a total rewrite of the code not just a collection of mods. Much of the code is new and as such needs testing. Virtually nothing has been left untouched. As such it is quite a job to polish out all the things on the list.

    All the code relating to features has been has been finished and we are are working through the list of bugs. We are running and testing on the road as we go. I am presently working out the bugs in the new TMC code. As this can not be tested in the emulator it is taking a while to work out as it has to be tested on the road and needs to function with both both MSN and TMC. There is also the added complexity of a single version for all models and regions. There will be only one release, the differences in regions and models are catered for in the code and configured in the settings menu.

    As soon as we complete the final fixes we go into beta testing. We will need to test across all regions and a variety of models. During beta testing we will fix any bugs that crop up and with the assistance of the testers put together a full manual and installer. Screen shots and feature lists will come out of this process. I put out a new map update for the Aussie users not so long ago. This included an installer which is the basis of the installer for the new release.

    So please be patient, we will finish and release as soon as we can and with the minimum of issues

    Cheers
