Yep that's the update that was released last year as a free update for users on V14 maps. The map update was about 1 year out of date even before release, but it did activate SUNA (traffic).

I've got mine hacked to use updated maps R16.1 or R17 I think, can't remember. My unit it still working fine after 2 years.

34by151 was working on an update to the system. Not sure if he still is, I haven't heard from him for a while. I've been a bit out of the mod scene for a bit because I just didn't have the time and the unit just frustrated me in the end... still does every day! On my next car I'll be using my iphone for navigation & bluetooth and I will have a separate video system for the kids with headphones so that I don't have to listed to Shaun the Sheep every car trip!

Avic411 has some great mods but just be careful and back it all up before you start!!! You have been warned.

When i extracted, using winrar, Update 2 asked to write over the Update 1. I let it do that, thats right yeah?

Beluga, do you use WinRAR? I highlight both files then right click and select "extract to V3Update03" with WinRAR. I don't get any messages asking to overwrite files. The final extracted folder size is 274Mb, 79 Files & 19 Folders.

In regards to the terrain is that the dem file? It was tiny in the R17 release. I just kept the bigger one that you provided with R16.1 from memory.

I am using an older mod of yours, and to be honest I didn't like the angle of the 3d view with the sky, or the fact that it tracks automatically to 2d when in 3d mode. As I said I hadn't looking into fixing this apart from checking settings and fiddling a bit and it's all personal preference in the end. What I like isn't what the next fella is going to like.

Your mods are loved by many and make a big difference to the stock product. I hope you can keep up your hardwork because you seem to enjoy it and have a big following on AVIC411.

Sorry IDT, No offence meant mate.. I realise how that read. Your mods are fantastic or I wouldn't have been using it this long. The problems I have are probably fixed up in revisions or can be changed in settings and I probably should have gone looking for an update but I've been busy lately with other projects.

In the above post I was trying to express my need for change and it wasn't an intention of mine to make yourself or others feel that I was attacking the good work you are doing with your mods.

I have problems with the system in general. It does everything but I have issues with every aspect of the unit. I really wish Pioneer would step up to the table and make changes to their software to improve their product, Pioneer Australia are completely useless, don't release update, provide outdated maps etc etc.

There is so much tallent on these forums that could turn a disappointing product into a 1st class product if only Pioneer would let us access areas like ipod control, voice control etc.

Sounds good 34by151. Sent you an email too by the way. Been rather distracted lately and decided that I have to pull my finger out and get yours installed. So what's the latest mod... the beta3? Do I just install the V3Updatepart1&2 then copy over the beta files? I've download that R17 map too to check out. Is Testmode 2.3 still the way in? So many questions... only been a few months since I've been on and things have progress heaps.

It's just a pity that there isn't any ipod mods for the unit. Having so many issues with it of late, and combined with problems with folk hearing me on the phone via bluetooth I was nearly ready to chuck it out the window. Lucky it's not that removable eh. Calmed down now and resolved to just hack the hell out of it to get it the way I like it.

Also from my observations SD1 upgrades the unit to 2.1000 probably to give a fresh install to then upgrade with SD2 to 3.02010 and installs maps version 02.000400.

All working smoothly and the new beeps are soooo much better, they fixed a problem I was having with ipod music/video buttons too by the look of it. Now to find a similar data.zip to GTIMatt's. Any ideas anyone?

According to this thread viewtopic.php?f=32&t=29141 they had the same problem and Pioneer Aus told them to activate using the Euro website. Might be worth a try.

Still waiting on mine but it is coming, so pioneer tell me. I'm glad you mentioned the bluetooth, my mic volume isn't too good. I just thought it was the position but maybe v3 will help fix it. Anyone have any good modified data.zip's to use with an Aussie V3. I've been using GTIMatt's which has been great (Speedlimit signs, better compass, better layout, TMC link and delete route and mute buttons).

Mine too by the look of it! We've only been waiting nearly a year! Maybe they sent them out alphabetically because my surname is right down the end of the alphabet. Pioneer told me it was first come first serve but people who have only had the unit for a few months have already received theirs.

Well i received my updated maps SD cards today, Updates the software to version 2.10000, went to upgrade maps and such.., but you need to enter your device id into the pioneer site & a code they supply with the sd cards. Problem is the site says the device id isn't registered, anyone else have this problem?

I just phoned Pioneer and was told that they are "hopefully" expecting another shipment and that I should receive the update by end of next week. I'm just going to keep phoning because it's really starting to annoy me that they are taking so long.

I remember GTIMatt's data.zip had one. All this coding is marked in the data.zip. There might even be some code on that thread. Happy reading.

I thought the UC is for USA & Canada, the EW is for Europe and AU is for Australia.

Some of us Aussies (not me) just got a map update with Australian V3 software update. Only a few have it so far because of production delays but I was just wondering if anyone knew how to tell between IGO 8.0 and IGO 8.3. It would be great to know what version we actually got for future map updates and general tinkering around.

I know a few folk on here have made custom POI's and have their down symbols. ie you might beable to have the big M for Macca's. At least we know they are in there. The new V3 seems to have more in it anyway. Sorry for the MacD's thing, I remembered that I did that when searching mine!

Have a search on here for POIs and let me know what you find. You should beable to edit them and add more according to the manual.

Is the Aussie V3 software update using IGO 8.0 or IGO 8.3?

You could try renaming the V3 to .bak than put the V2 on, reboot see if Macca's turns up. Then maybe put the V3 back with the V2 and see what happens. They should be okay in the same folder because the file names are different and should both load. Have a play around.

Did you try searching by name?

The POI's are in My Flash Disk\APL2\iGo\CONTENT\POI

In V2 all I have is a file called "Australia_productB.poi" @ 14304KB maybe you can have a look in V3 in the same folder (it's the folder that contain's your maps, buildings, speedcams etc) and let us know the file name and size. If it has a different file name just paste V2 in and see what happens. The worst things that can happen I can think would be to get a double up of some items.

Try seaching for business by name ie "MacD" should return Macca's if it's in there. That's how I found it on V2 because it takes ages trying to find it under headings.

Also you could just try copying the POIs from the V2 maps into the V3 POI folder (they are the Places Of Interest POI's that tell the Avic where Macca's is). Just add them, don't delete the V3 ones to start with, make sure you back up if you do have to delete the V3 ones.

Just read this whole thread. Most of the information is there. Read it all then post your questions and we can help you out.

Free Map Update News:

Just phoned Pioneer and asked for them to check that I'm on their free map update list because I'm getting fed up checking my mail each day only to be disappointed. I was told I missed the first batch of updates and they are having trouble with supply and I won't be getting it until at least mid November if they get enough in the next batch! The email I got and the first guy I spoke to at Pioneer told me that I would get it sometime over the next few weeks which was incorrect. Pretty piss poor performance from Pioneer once again. All I want is SUNA to work in Brisbane, other manufactures have had it working for months!

I sent off my claim in mid December 08. When did you guys post yours? She said it was all being done on a first come first serve basis but I'm down the bottom of the alphabet so I will probably be last more than likely.
