  1. In just the last several days, I had my old D2 system replaced with the X940bt.

I have followed the instructions on Page 196 of the manual to set a password. No luck.

The instructions say to go the Settings Menu and touch Area 1, then, Area 2, then touch and hold Area 3. I get nothing!

My system was installed by a professional at a competent shop.

I was however, able to resize my D2 splash screen and install it. So, at least I got half of it done.

Other then returning everything to the factory settings, is there another way to access this?

  2. Thanks guys.

I think I can work with the diagram above as I have enough room behind the unit and on top.

I use it for more then radio and navigation. It is also the primary player for the TV in the midwall (the TV is not above the driver in mine).

The D-3 is already installed and works great. Just want a better viewing angle for navigation. Otherwise - it's perfect!

  3. I have a D-3 installed in my motor coach. It works very well overall.

One thing I would like to do is be able to angle the bracket so that the unit points up just a bit - from the flat install it has now.

Reason? It sits lower in the console and I need to look down at it. At it's current angle, it is not as clear a picture as looking straight at it.

The picture below will give you an idea.

    Thanks

  4. I have an 07 Ford Ranger that I put a D-2 in. The D-3 is the same size (double din) so don't worry about it.

Liked the D-2 so much, I put a D-3 in my Dog House!

Dog House = 07 Holiday Rambler Ambassador motor coach.

  5. I got mine from Crutchfield.

I checked UPS yesterday after getting home from work. It said "Out for Delivery".

At just before 4:00 pm, I checked again and it said "Delivered at 3:30 pm, - Front Door" Since I was home at the time, I knew UPS had not been there.

After trying to get ahold of some Yahoo from UPS, (they were not helpful), I was told to call Crutchfield.

They were very nice and said they would ship me a new one just as soon as they had them back in stock at no cost.

Well, at 6:15, the wife comes home and says "The UPS guy just handed this to me".

I called Crutchfield and thanked them - and told them that UPS just arrived.

Now tell me! When did UPS start hedging their delivery times? It must be magic!! I had it - and didn't even know it!!!

It was refreshing to hear the Crutchfield would at least attempt to make it right despite an idiot UPS driver. (Of course I am not referring to ALL UPS employees - just this particular one).

  6. I finally got my D-3 installed (with bypass) on my motor coach.

Works good, although, I see that when you turn, the map does not rotate as it does on my D-2 (or is there a setting I've not adjusted?) Works good!

    Couple pics.

  7.

tried CD-SR1 on my installation day, it worked with D3, but only

    "Track Next/Back" -

    "Volume UP-Down" -

    "Source Switch -FM-Ipod-CD"

    work.

    Menu, band buttons don't work.

Since I dont have bluetooth installed, bluetooth buttons don't work as well.

Works for me!!! Thanks. I will use the SR1 until they have a steering wheel remote that works.

Basic use of the radio/and I-Pod is what I need it for anyway. To far to stretch from the drivers seat to operate the radio -- and do it without running over things like ----- BMWs and Hondas! :D

  8. I am wondering if any of our installers on this board have tried the CD-SR1 or 11 with any of the D3s that have been installed.

Sometimes the CRs are just reading from a script and it may be that the SR1 or 11 are not listed as compatible with the D3. Won't be the first time that CRs don't know what is what. Since neither of the two CRs ever answered my question to them about the D3 and the SR1 or 11 - I'm wondering.

If you guys get a chance, would you be able to check on your next installs?

    Thanks

  9. Would very much appreciate one of you fine folks putting this one together for my D-3.

    Under the Coach, please put:

    REID FAMILY DOG HOUSE
    NAVIGATION LOADING.....

Dark Green print would be nice

    Thanks
  10. Just got this from Pioneer in regards to the CD-R55.

Will be available through Pioneer retailers by May 2007.

Cannot be ordered direct from Pioneer.

Currently, no price available. Should similar in price to the CD-R5.

The CD-R55 is a handheld remote very similar to the CD-R5 remote, but update for operation of the AVIC-D3, and AVH-P4900DVD.

    Thank You,

    Mike

    Customer Service Representative

    This Sux!

Has anyone tried to use the CD-SR1 or 11 with the D-3?

  11. I was under the assumption the CDR55 is a new handheld remote, not steering wheel. Could be wrong though. I think you probably got a moron by email

That's what Adhama at Pioneer Customer Support says.

When I asked about the CD-R55 not being on the website, she says "It's brand new - that's why you haven't seen it on our website yet. It should be available soon."

Of course she does not answer the other question about whether a steering wheel remote is or will be available.

    I did find this link:

    http://plasma.pioneerelectronics.com/pn ... sComponent

When you click on the image - it pops to the CD-R5. Go Figure!!

  12. Just wondering if anyone has rear seat monitors, or another screen. How does it look??

I'm itching to get mine installed. Don't know that I can wait till the 19th!!

If I had to wait for the D-2, - well, you have to wait. I have mine, but can't install it till I get damn concrete poured in my yard so I can bring the MH home. Being 40 feet long, I can't park it in the street for too long.

    This Sux!!

  13. um, what vehicle is that? you havent mentioned it yet

Sorry. I did in a different thread.

I'm installing this in my 2007 Holiday Rambler Ambassador motor coach. It's a 40 foot long 330 HP diesel pusher motor home.

Granted! It's not your usual daily driver..............

    100_0006.jpg

However!! If the wife throws me out - I still got a doghouse to go to!!

  14. I figured wire nuts would be the least effective.

Don't know if the installer will have access to a Magnadyne wiring harness - but he might!

From looking at the Magnadyne web site, it looks like the RCA plugs already installed for the rear TV will just plug in.

Since this is not the normal install, Car Toys in Beaverton, Or-E-Gun will do the install as I have seen installs he has done on similar vehicles.

  15. Local Car Toys got mine in today. Cost was 900.00. They gave me a discount (regular price 999.99) because I had a D2 put in my truck when I bought it new from a local Ford dealer. They got a grant total of ONE unit - mine so far.

Brought it home and it will stay in the box for about 2 weeks before I can get it installed. Due to the nature of this install, I will have Car Toys do it. They are quoting me a cost of 150.00. I'm sure I will need a mounting kit of some kind.

    Not bad!

Waiting the next two weeks will be the hardest.

Now I gotta find out if the CD-R5 remote will work with it.

The installer insists that the SR1 steering wheel remote will work.
