  1. Mute and Delete route buttons on Map screen.

There's the link, and there's no password, just download :)

Thanks to rodman1919 for his data.zip which he coded in the mute and delet route buttons on the latest v3 updated Australian version of F900BT...

I loaded it using testmode 2.3 (as suggested by lacehim), all works fine and makes the unit much more usable.

    Thanks!

  2. Hi, I just checked - sadly, mine is the same! The closest thing I could find to "restaurants" or "food" is "Cafe", which covers a lot of cafes like Gloria Jeans and coffee type palces, but doesn't seem to cover the basic eating places like MacDonalds...

This is a bit of a problem really, one of the most basic searches!

Not sure how to fix this. :?

  3. Hi rodman1919, did you try upload to the AVIC411 forum or Rapidshare?

http://www.rapidshare.com/ should let you upload a 200MB file for free...

Best to ZIP everything up and maybe even password protect the ZIP if you want to keep it just to forum members... (oh, pls do share the password with us...)

On the USB issue, I have a 4 GB SDHC SD card in there and it worked fine so I assumed that the higher capacity USB's should be Ok too. I have to check it out and see if any different on my unit or maybe there are different USB specs?

  4. Thanks for the links for coding the buttons, etc... Will give it a try when I get some spare time...

For SUNA, you are in luck, as the cover of the box specifically says "Enables SUNA Traffic Updates for Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane areas"

Did you get your "free upgrade" voucher when you bought your unit? Hope you don't have to fork out to buy this update! As we've kinda been ripped off since a few important features didn't work out of the box and the orginal firmware was pretty bad!

  5. Hi lacehim, just had a look at the systems info...

    * The firmware version is 3.20100

    * The map version is 02.000400

    * On the box/sleeve that came with the kit, it says "Whereis V15.1 database Maps"

Anything else you want me to check about this new version, let me know...

Not too good at programming/coding myself, so if anyone has worked out how to add the mute and delete route buttons to the map screen, please kindly share your code/install notes.

  6. I just got my free upgrade in the post this week from Pioneer Australia (when I bought the unit in Jan 09, it came with a coupon for the free map upgrade). It came with 2 SD cards and the upgrade was pretty straight forward except for one minor glitch due to poor documentation from Pioneer, which was a little frustrating...

    Getting the password...

According to Pioneer's documentation, you get the password to complete the upgrade from http://www.pioneer.com.au, but the problem was, after a whole evening searching, I could not find anything on the Pioneer website(s) anywhere that will give me a password. But thanks to the notes on an earlier post:

    viewtopic.php?f=32&t=26656

I found that the place to get the password was: PioneerNavigationUpdate.com

Once you punch in the "media number" (came in the upgrade package) and "device number" (when you plug the 2nd SD card in, it will show it on screen), it returns the password immediately on the website, punch it in on the F 900BT, the upgrade was completed within a few minutes.

After the upgrade, the unti seems to work a bit quicker and the interface was definitely improved, a few main things I noted so far:

    • * 2D maps now have North up or Heading up orinetations
      * 3D maps seem to be a bit better graphics
      * Lane information at major intersections - very nice
      * General improvements to basic interface

I would love to try out the mods like IDT when I get a chance, if anyone has done such mods on an Australian F900 BT with this latest map/firmware update, please let me know how it went.

  7. Not being able to sync your contacts is a problem with most "smart phones". I have had the same problem with my Nokia E71 and E51 on other Bluetooth devices. Where as, one of my older (and simpler) Nokia phones transferred the contacts OK automatically.

You can still transfer your contacts over, but you have to do it one at a time, a bit tedious if you have a lot of contacts!

This is not a problem specific to teh Pioneer AVIC F series. It happened to my Blue Ants Bluetooth headsets too...

  8. European version post 2.0010 and bluetooth 3.30 bugs:

24- "dead reckoning" option working rather than "gps signal lost" as announced in the launch of F series.

    Hi,

I wonder if anyone has had problems with "Dead Reckoning" on the F900BT? I just got a F900BT installed recently, the installers say that the VSS has been connected, so the Dead Reckoning should work when I don't have a GPS signal...

BUT, when I enter a tunnel or a building (or in the city with tall buildings), once I loose the GPS signal, the unit will say "GPS Signal Lost" and then stop reporting my position and speed. (arrow goes grey, etc)

Seeing the quote above from alien2000a made me think if this might be a software problem?

I have version 2.00000 firmware on my unit... (ver 2.0010 is not available for my region - Australia yet)

Has anyone else experienced similar problems with Dead Reckoning and got it resolved by a firmware update?

BTW, is there a way to tell if the VSS connection is working?

    Thanks
