  1. This should only happen with the 'home address'. I tried to fix this in my V3.25 mod and was unsuccessful, but then again, I didnt try very hard as it is just a minor annoyance and nobody complained about it prior to this. I may look at this again in my next update

Thanks Abb, like I said, not a big deal, I just wanted to make sure I downloaded the files correctly. Everything works fine.

  2. Let me start by saying, I'm no expert.

I have researched this mod and all I can come up with is, you need a coversion software to

turn your image from a bmp file to a mdl and I think tex file.

If the images are not in the above format, it will not work.

I've surfed the web trying to find a free download for the image converter that would support these formats, but have been unsuccessful.

  3. I'm drooling man.... I got a F900BT and I live in the deep south, I don't need msn,eu, tech support, just the mod man....come on..I'm hurtin' here...

got me hooked man..I gotta learn to code. Someone needs to post a how to manual. I will donate....

I sent it to you. Test it out and let me know if there are any problems. REMEMBER- NO MSN!

As far as learning to code, it is fairly simple. The key thing is to get the practice and know what commands do. The best way is to make a copy of your Data.zip, use that for experimenting and just change stuff around to practice. The easy thing is that all shortcuts, icons, etc., are placed by pixel height and width starting at 0 for both at the top left corner. For the placement of shortcuts, icons, etc., x is the vertical position going to 480, and y is the horizontal position going to 800. Look at the coding to get familiar with the commands and keep in mind that most of the UI for the texture placement can be found in 800_480/UI folder while the actual hard coding can be found in COMMON/UI folder. When playing, always make sure that you have a backup of your present Data.zip. If the scripting is incorrect, then your system will boot until you hit the NAV part and you will have an error showing you what script it cannot find (LOL, I had lots). Then just fix it or replace your working Data.zip. Hope this helps.

Me, I dont take donations because the mods that I do, I do for myself! If it is good and people want to use it, I will share it! If I take donations, then I would be expected to make mods for others that I cant test myself (eg. MSN, EU, etc.) and I will be spending countless hours troubleshooting which I do not have time to do

    Hey Abb

Thanks for the tutorial. I have used everyone of your schemes from the dates you release them.

I have also learned alot from your posts, which allows me to make suttle changes to my liking.

I'm still using your red blast theme because it matches the interior of my car the best, but the chrome theme, like all others, looks excellent.

    Keep up the good work.

  4. Hey Abb

    Looks good!

Where did you end up finding the file for the AV display on the on map picture, where it displays the song title?

    Thanks

It was in the image.res, in the AV folder. It was in smaller bars as it was a collapsable menu. That is why I had a problem finding it. I was looking for a larger file.

Ah gotcha, Is it the OM030 and OM031.

    Thanks

Just in case anyone else wants to change the color of the "Redblast Theme" for the collapsable menu for the song info.

The file names are 746_32K_OM-030_24b and 746_32K_OM-031_32b

  5. Hey IDT

    Great job.

I have one bug to report and I'm wondering if it's happening to others. While on the nav screen, voice prompt will not work. I press the big silver button and it mutes if music is playing for about a second, but then the music comes back on without letting me giving the unit a command.

this is not a bug, if you'll check the features in page 1 it states there that for VR to work you have to press the av button first, ones the AV source button appears VR will work when the knob is pressed,

Ok, thanks IDT. I guess I overlooked that in the first post.

  6. regarding the signboard, NAVTEQ maps don't have that much detail (signboard, speed limit signs, turn restrictions) as compared to teleatlas maps, well atleast here in canada, that's why the signboard is not showing up

    Is the signboard issue fixed?

    yes, i found the culprit,

for those guys who wants a quickfix regarding the signboard bug open your navigatemap.ui and look for this script

    and and change it to

as you can see a simple coding error like having " " on your variable could have a serious effect on the navi,

for those who doesn't want to do this a minor update will be out this weekend with that fixed and a minor bug i found in the planmode screen

    Where is the navigatemap.ui file?

    Thanks

  7. I actually copied everything from Hurst GFX file and put it in IDT's GFX file. I did this to clean up the Igo folder.

I was having the problem with the blank skys when I would switch to IDT's schemes so I also change the Igo/GFX/night sky to a sky of my prefrence. I modfied the moon with an image editor to make it larger.

I put the Igo8 folder into IDT's data zip as well.

The only thing I cannot figure out is where the GL2 schemes are coming from in the GFX file.

    Any advice would be great.

Oh and all the schemes are functional, I don't have all of Hurst schemes, because I don't change schemes very often

and if you download all the schemes it seems to slow down the scheme changing file on the Avic.

  8. Photoshop is all that anybody uses on an amateur level or professional level. I have been using PS for years to change and alter photos and pictures.

i have used ps a lot too, to edit photos but i can't get it to open the image.res.

a (very) brief how to, maybe?

Just use 7-zip to extract the file into your prefered area of your pc.

You should be able to open that file with photoshop and make changes.

Once done making changes go back to 7-zip and find the two files, Abbs original file and the file you extacted and made changes, and just cut and paste the new file to the original file.

I am using gimp to edit the images, not photoshop and that has been the easiest way for me to do it without creating unwanted subfolders.

  9. Totally understand.

Hey, if I recall correctly, I think you said your other red theme will work on any Nav mod as long as I delete IDT's mods in the datazip, correct?

Hmm, I think that you got me lost. My other Red theme HAD IDT's mod included in it. The Nav section is totally independent from the AV section, so basically ANY Image.res file will work with any Nav file except that they will not match. Now, if you have my other red theme installed with the Nav section, then all you will need is the new image.res file and at least the NAV part will be red, so it will sort of match.

Yea, sorry. Just wondering if I use the red theme datazip and delete the IDT files out of it, if the theme would work on Diafinis mods. If not, because their is alot more involved, not a big deal. I've just always thought your themes are very taseful and always ejoyed using them.
