Shee-ot mudder-duckers, if you're going to put a fake face-plate, make it an 8-track.. shagariffic!!!
Please stop posting. You're an idiot and no one likes you or thinks you are funny.

Let's be real... there's nothing you can do to prevent a determined thief from ripping off your radio if they want to.
You think some "security cable" is going to deter them from taking it out of your car if they want it?
If a thief rips the radio out of your dash and sees a "Security cable"... what do you think will happen? They'll tuck tail and run?
No. If they don't have the means to cut the cable (which wouldn't be difficult) then they'll likely just steal the whole car and worry about it later.

If you still wanna hear songs that have been played 10,000,000 times, stick with XM. Made the mistake of pressing my source button one too few times the other day and landed on XM instead of Sirius. The first station I caught was still playing that Daniel Powder (sp?) song. Tried another and it was still playing The Fray. I assume that even free radio has given up on playing those "hits."
Bashing XM... yet you still pay a monthly fee for it? I'm confused.

Also, is there any limitations to what the D2 can do while the vehicle is in motion? Is there a way around that?
Thanks, Nick
Yes, and Yes.

I believe that address book transfer via bluetooth has been crippled in the Blackberry. I don't think you can do what you want with the 8703e.

It'll work, there are versions of that though that will also charge the ipod. The one you showed doesn't charge the ipod.
It'll charge the iPod.
The pictures don't show it, but there is also a 12v power lead from the dock connector on that cable which you can hard wire into the vehicle for iPod power/charging.
It's basically a homemade version of the Xtrememac Roadshow Cable.

YEah basically F*CK the FCC.
Not really the FCC. But, RIAA. If they were not such babies there would be no issue. The music industry is screwing everybody. Closely followed by the movie industry. I am not advocating that people steal content. I just want to use what is mine.
Sorry... posted incorrectly.

Please forgive the obvious question...
Do you have the GEX-P10XMT or the GEX-P920XM connected to your AVIC?
-
Just out of curiosity... why a Zune and not a 5th Gen iPod?

I was reading a Wikipedia article on penguins just before I signed up here, so I had penguins on my mind.
No significance to 31. I always add a 2 digit number to my login ids, and it just happened to be 31 this time.

Tom,
I found this forum a few weeks ago.
Within 3 hours of me coming here, I found all of the information I needed to successfully burn a new Navigation DVD for my D2 including a new boot image, XM logos and custom backgrounds. It works great.
I am NOT very computer literate... so if I could do it, then certainly someone like you who IS computer literate can do it.
Just search, and read. Everything you could need is here, for free, without having anyone hold your hand and provide you with click-by-click directions.
Coming here and making demands and unreasonable requests for assistance is not the way to solve your problem.
Stop being lazy and do some work on your own.
If that still doesn't work for you, then paypal me $125.00 and I'll type out detailed instructions for you.

Your poll makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
You ask two opposing questions and expect a single YES or NO answer.
Which question of yours are we supposed to answer?

Thanks felix and jimmy. Your responses were very helpful.
The suggestion for the Soundgate product led me to finding this:

which I think will work out just fine.
Most appreciated.

Hi All
I know many of you are professional car audio installers, so I thought I might be able to pick your brains about adding iPod connectivity to a 2006 Mini Cooper.
The car is a lease, so I don't want to start tearing up the dashboard or replacing the factory head unit. I live in an area where the FM band is pretty saturated, so an FM transmitter won't really suit my needs.
Does anyone know if the factory head unit in a '06 Mini Cooper has any type of AUX input on the back of the radio that I could use to add some type of iPod adapter to?

First, I thought you were just being funny... which you were.
Now I see you're just being an asshole.
Bravo.

Sweet.
Can you send daily updates to XM so they can push it to my AVIC-D2 every day?
-
Well, they both have/had offices in Texas... but I think that's about all they have in common.
I wrote to XM Radio tech support asking about this, and they confirmed that 'The Knot, Inc.' isn't available in their system. No explanation why.
Sorta sucks, but I guess there's really nothing that they can do about it.

One of the stocks in my portfolio (NASDAQ, symbol KNOT) cannot be entered into the Stock Info screen on my AVIC-D2.
I get an error message saying the ticker symbol could not be found.
Well, I know the ticker symbol exists.
Any idea who I might be able to contact to find out why this one particular stock symbol is missing?

NEW GUY needs some help to with burning a boot up screen
NEW GUY also needs to learn how to post as to not hijack someone else's thread.
I would suggest starting your own topic.

Quick question, this has been annoying me:
When you are in map mode, and change XM stations, the song title is displayed at the bottom. Does anyone know how to make the song title get displayed at the bottom at the beginning of every song (ie, when you don't change stations)?
I've asked this question elsewhere, and was told that it was not possible to do. Hopefully you'll get a different answer, because I'd like to see a feature like this as well.
-
I've driven the route for the last 10 years and I know it well.
Then why do you need GPS navigation for it?
-
I've had my Pioneer AVIC-Z1 for 6 months.
Then why do you choose to whine like a baby in the AVIC-Dx forum?
Maybe the Z forum would be a better choice?
call XM and threaten to cancel

Opie and Anthony were NOT censored. They were censured by XM Radio. There's a big difference, and most people seem to be missing the point here.
If the segment did not air, or was "bleeped", that would have been Censorship.
However, the segment did air, and was not edited in any way.
XM Radio chose to censure O&A for allowing the segment to progress as it did.
They violated XM's "rules"... not the FCC or anyone elses.
Personally, I think XM made a mistake by suspending them, and I support any effort to point that out.
XM can do whatever they want to their own employees. If you, or O&A have a problem with XM's rules... so be it.
But please don't be so quick to jump on the censorship bandwagon... because this has nothing to do with censorship.
