-
av inputs, ipod cable or ipod outputs from 30 pin connector. I have seen all three so check carefully...
-
No just mute, figured the programmers would have thought of that but oh well...
-
yep and HD radio is the same too - atleast on the 10 tuner...
-
Brand specific...sorry

Sets via gps location and time zone, yes it can be finicky, plus it was not programmed with the correct DST dates.

Hello
I just installed a F700BT with hardware hack and I have a few questions about its functionings. I searched and read the 191 page manual, but perhaps I am missing something but did not find much anwers to my questions, so if you don't mind, here are a few (perhaps stupid) questions:
1) How do we "turn off" the unit? I mean, when one only wants to drive without music, beside turning the volume down, how do we do it? (And beside turning off the car, that is).
2) Do I need an HD radio unit "add-on" to listen to HD radio stations? I think so, but I thought I would ask just to confirm...
3) The "turn screen off" function is buried in the system settings, is there a way to have it more easily accessible?
4) About the 2 main screens, I am correct to assume that the two main screen are only the Menu and Map screens? Is it possible to customize somehow these, or have one that would more simple, perhaps with a clock and the station listened to?
5) I paired by Black Berry Curve 8310 with it and transfered my contacts. Do I need to VR the contact list somehow? Because voice recognition does not work with my contacts. I keep saying "Call "name"" and it keeps repeating the command. Yet VR works with my Ipod. So I am puzzled. Am I supposed to do something else on my contact list?
6) On a related note, eventually VR thinks I have said a few numbers and starts dialing a few odd ones (it goes 555- when I said "Audrey" -- go figure!), is there a quick way to "hang up" the phone while I am in the VR screen?
7) Am I correct to assume that 8 gig is the highest "SD card" I can use with it?
8 ) When I am listening to preset FM stations, the multifunction nob seems to only change the FM band by decimal instead of changing to the next preset. Is this normal/correct? Seems odd....
9) Where can we get GPS map upgrade? Mine seems to date back from 2007... Are these the most recent?
10) When entering an address in the GPS, how do we enter a "dash" as in "St-Martin" ? The "odd" characters option is greyed out?
11) Do I need a screen protector or something? Is the screen that fragil?
12) Screen beeps How do I turn these off? I think there is a hack for these, however...
Beside that, I like the unit. Sound is clear and IPod integration is great, and GPS works fine.
Thanks for helping a newbie on this one!
4- no to my knowledge
5- make sure there are no characters in your phonebook - ie & - , . etc
6- see 5 probably the same issue
7- no 32 gig cards have been reported usable - format fat 32 at a lower section rate ie 32k
8- not on the avic-f yes other pioneer units have
9- we are all waiting for that
10- haven't used those sorry
11- I don't
12- yes there is a hack-works great, would have thrown this out the window without this hack.
Thanks - good luck

Should fit no problem, just need correct kit and wiring harness.
-
Sounds like the adapter is bad - can feed false signals to the data wire for the computer system and all hell will break loose - just really random wierd stuff will happen. Have had my ac go out and work on the next ignition cycle. Same with alternator not charging warning... Might try another one or another brand.
-
Avalon has an amplified antenna, make sure installer connected the power antenna lead to the correct wire....
-
Should start where it left off, not understanding the question?!
-
that is strange, itunes only saves to its database and if you are not syncing with itunes I'm not sure the avic will do the letter search - it is designed to read it as ipod and read the itunes files it synced. Do not know for sure but I think it will only work if synced with itunes - if some other member using Winamp or another software please answer. Good question though!

Its not by passed, check it again...
-
Should work fine, hard to say till you try it.

Hey all! I am installing an F700BT with HD tuner module. I hooked the antenna into the HD module and I only get HD radio, no FM or AM. Do I need to install an antenna splitter and hook up the AVIC as well? thanks alot for the help!
Read the manual, the HD tuner can get AM/FM and HD. You can use a splitter, I do, just so all icons on the menu actually work.
-
Yes, settings can only be accessed when parking brake is on or unit is bypass - built in safety feature crap...
-
Yep think we have all done that at some point or another. Glad to help...
-
plug the ip bus cable into the other port on the gex920xm.
-
Are you using the ipod cable or just USB? Ipod cable with usb and red/yellow/white is required...
-
Go to settings on the ipod and make sure the av out is on NTSC and wide screen - it may affect the audio.?

Hi,
i just purchased a new Pioneer Avic F700BT to replace my Avic D1. so far i really like the unit. just have a couple questions
1. when i insert a cd, no track titles or anything is named. is there a way to have it show the track title? or just doesnt do that
2. I just ordered a Rocketfish RF-IPCAU6W COMPOSITE A/V CABLE , will that allow me to hook up my ipod touch and play music? will i be able to control it with my voice?
thanks.
Only cd's with info on the - mp3 cd's work but not text cd's purchased at the store.
Yes that cable will work assuming it is composite and usb. Yes voice should work fine.

The sound feedback is from the phone sending and receiving signals to the cell towers, definately not the bluetooth. Have same noise with both my 2g and 3g, comes through pioneers, alpines, alarm clocks everything you set the phone next too. Unless you shield the radio you will continue to have that noise.

No normal adjustment. The delete/replace with silent key beep hack works perfectly.
-
Same problem here. VR is terrible - atleast for me. BT works but it does sound like I am a long way from he mic. I have it mounted in top center area. I too will call Pioneer tech tomorrow and see what they say.
